Chapter 192 Searching for Clues (Part 2)

"I heard a commotion in the courtyard. Congratulations, you've finally met your match," the old woman said with a sinister smile.

"What are you babbling about, you old hag? Little Fish, what happened?" Uncle's attitude was quite gentle.

Have any of you seen Hanhan?

"Where are we supposed to meet?" the uncle asked with a forced smile.

"Hehe." The old woman let out a strange laugh.

The west room wasn't very big, and although things were messy, you could easily see through it and find that there was no place to hide children.

Although Qin Xiaoyu was unwilling, she had no choice but to back out.

"Alright, this is even more powerful than the police. They've ransacked the house, what more do you want?" Grandma Hanhan muttered.

Now that Qin Xiaoyu has Qi Si backing her up and her wife's support, her momentum has been completely destroyed.

"Grandpa Hanhan, I'll ask you one more time, did you really not see Hanhan yesterday?" Qin Xiaoyu asked again, unwilling to give up.

"I said I didn't see her, and I didn't. I've been an honest man my whole life, and I don't lie! Don't push your luck!" An honest man can be quite intimidating when he gets angry. Hanhan's grandfather stomped his foot, and Qi Si quickly protected Qin Xiaoyu, afraid that he would hit her.

"Sister-in-law, I'm not trying to be mean, but you've gone a bit too far!" Tang Wenwen burst in, leaving Qin Xiaoyu stunned with her words.

"Wenwen, what are you saying?"

"Sister-in-law, I've always thought you were a sensible person. How could you be so muddle-headed? The Tang family is still your husband's family. You haven't even remarried yet, and you're already coming back to cause trouble. Isn't that a bit inhumane? Yes, you look down on my father and mother, but they are my own flesh and blood. No matter how bad they are, you can't be allowed to treat them like this. Get out of here!" Tang Wenwen pointed at Qin Xiaoyu's nose and cursed.

Qin Xiaoyu never dreamed that Tang Wenwen would side with her parents and oppose her. But thinking about it, it makes sense; they are her own flesh and blood, while what are they?

"Brother, let's go." Qin Xiaoyu was also disheartened. What good would it do to stay with a family she couldn't even befriend with all her heart?

On the way back, Qi Si didn't let Qin Xiaoyu drive, and the two remained silent the whole time.

"Brother, what will happen if I never see Hanhan again?" Qin Xiaoyu suddenly asked.

"We'll find it, don't worry. Let's follow that road now and see if there are any clues." Qi Si gritted his teeth, and seeing his expression, Qin Xiaoyu's confidence slowly returned.

Following the little girl's directions, we walked down the road to the intersection. On both sides were businesses, including newspaper offices and guesthouses. Unfortunately, there were no security cameras at the time, so we had to ask around at each place.

The most troublesome thing is that some of the people who were on duty yesterday are off today, so after asking around, I didn't get any useful clues.

Qin Xiaoyu crossed out a few names on the note, deciding to come back tomorrow or the day after. This was a long-term battle, and she refused to believe she couldn't find her son.

If someone can steal him away, she can find him again.

"Go back and get some sleep. I'll think of something else." Qi Si escorted Qin Xiaoyu downstairs and, still worried, added, "Eat something. If you don't want to eat, drink some milk powder."

"Brother, you should arrange for all the hotels to open," Qin Xiaoyu instructed.

When she entered the house, she saw a strange woman playing with her younger sister.

“My mom has high blood pressure, and my husband took her to the hospital. He asked me to take some time off to spend with my younger sister.”

It turned out that this was Grandma Zhang's daughter-in-law. Grandma Zhang, being of advanced age, couldn't bear the shock and went straight to the hospital.

Qin Xiaoyu hurriedly took her younger sister and drove to the hospital. Grandma Zhang had already taken her medicine and was lying in bed in a daze.

"Grandma, please don't get upset. I'll feel uneasy if you get too anxious about the child we haven't found."

“You’re uneasy? How can I face Commander Zhou? I’m the one who’s uneasy.” Grandma Zhang said, wiping away her tears.

"You should rest well. We've made some progress. I'll continue investigating." To appease her, Qin Xiaoyu could only lie through her teeth.

After leaving the ward, she called over Grandma Zhang's daughter-in-law and said apologetically, "Sister-in-law, you don't need to stay here. I'll take care of the child. You just need to take good care of the old lady."

"That won't do. You don't know how stubborn my mom is."

“This child doesn’t talk and can’t communicate well with others, so I have to take care of him myself.”

Once in the car, Qin Xiaoyu felt dizzy. Qi Si was right; she couldn't keep up.

She pulled the car over to the side of the road, took her younger sister out of the car, found a grocery store, and bought a bottle of canned fruit.

She slapped the bottom of the glass jar a few times, then pried it open with a spoon. The mother and daughter started eating, one bite at a time.

The canned food was cold, and although it raised her blood sugar, she was still shivering with cold. She gripped her cotton coat tighter and wrapped it around herself.

The younger sister tugged at her sleeve. She turned around and saw that her younger sister had written a crooked "brother" on the frost on the car window. She was asking her for a brother.

"Don't worry, I will find my brother."

Qin Xiaoyu gritted her teeth and started the car.

She suddenly thought of a place to go. It was warm in Aunt Wang's house. When she saw her come in, she didn't ask anything and first made her a bowl of oil tea noodles with boiling water.

"Drink this first," said Aunt Wang. She then picked up a small bowl, scooped out a few spoonfuls, blew on them to cool them down, and fed them to her younger sister.

"Godmother, do you know what happened to my family? My son is missing! Please help me figure out what's wrong!" Qin Xiaoyu had no appetite for food and hurriedly pushed the bowl away.

"If you don't listen, you eat what I tell you to eat, or get out!" Once you get used to Wang Da Niang's temper, she's even more stubborn than Zhang Laolao.

Ignoring the fact that it was too hot to drink, Qin Xiaoyu quickly took two sips. Aunt Wang couldn't bear to watch any longer, so she snatched the spoon away and sighed.

"Quickly help me calculate this."

Grandma Wang closed her eyes, pinched her fingers and muttered incantations. After a while, she opened her eyes and her gaze became bright.

"How about it?"

"A close call, but no real danger."

"So you mean we can find it?"

Whether we find them or not depends on fate. As things stand, they are alive and safe.

Aunt Wang's words were reassuring. As long as Hanhan was safe, they would search for her no matter how long it took.

Qin Xiaoyu finished her bowl of oil tea noodles, pushed the bowl aside, and continued on her way with her younger sister. Grandma Wang saw her to the door, watching her retreating figure and murmuring, "Another calamity. Well, it's good; only by facing death can one find a way out."

The next day, just at eight o'clock, Qin Xiaoyu appeared on that street, and there were still a few places that needed to be checked again.

When I went to the mailroom to inquire yesterday, I learned that the person who was on duty the day before had worked a 24-hour shift and then rested. They only came to cover a day shift today.

"I heard about what happened to you. I actually saw the child you mentioned, and he said he was looking for you." The gatekeeper said hurriedly as soon as he saw Qin Xiaoyu.

"You saw him?"

"Yes, because my son is in the Air Force, so I took a second look at that little boy wearing an Air Force leather jacket."

"Yes! He was wearing a leather jacket!" Qin Xiaoyu was surprised to find a clue. This leather jacket was made for Hanhan by Commander Zhou; it was warm and windproof, so he had always worn it.

"The child was sitting on the back of a bicycle and walked past the gate before leaving." That was the end of the security guard's lead.
