Chapter 203 Standing Up for Zhou Yue

Qin Xiaoyu was in a dilemma. If something had really happened to Qi Si, it seemed inappropriate to take the child there, but leaving the child at home was a risk she would never dare to take again.

"Go ahead if you have something to do. We'll take the child with us, and you can come back to pick him up when you're done," Zhou Xing's mother said, noticing her expression was off.

"This..." Qin Xiaoyu hesitated for a moment.

"You're hesitating over such a small thing? Just decide on it like this. What if the child gets sweaty and catches a cold when it's windy outside?" Commander Zhou was like a nagging old woman, so Qin Xiaoyu had no choice but to go out alone.

When Zhou Xing saw her come out alone, he quickly got out of the car.

"It's okay, I'm just going to my brother's place. I'll drive my own car," Qin Xiaoyu explained, and hurriedly climbed into her car.

Upon entering the private room, Qin Xiaoyu gasped. Who was this person?

Zhou Yue's face was swollen like a pig's head, her lips were bluish-purple and turned upwards, and it looked like she had lost a tooth.

"Sister Xiaoyue!" Qin Xiaoyu roared!

"That beast! I hate men who hit women the most. Don't stop me this time, I'll kill him!" Qi Si was so angry that he paced around the house like a trapped beast.

"Brother, don't be impulsive. I'll handle this. It won't be a free lunch for that kid. Calm down." Qin Xiaoyu said, helping Zhou Yue up and saying, "Come with me."

"Where to?" Zhou Yue asked timidly.

"Go back to your home!"

"I don't want to go back. I can't let my parents see me like this. Please take me back to your home, waah..." Zhou Yue cried.

"Sister Xiaoyue, you have to face this. You can't escape it by running away. You need to let your family know the truth about your situation so that this matter can be resolved properly. Can you hide it forever?" Qin Xiaoyu earnestly advised.

“My dad will be sad.” Zhou Yue shook her head vigorously.

"He should be heartbroken; this is the consequence of his arranged marriage!" Qin Xiaoyu bit her lip and hugged Zhou Yue tightly with heartache. Zhou Yue winced in pain; she seemed to be injured as well.

"Hurry up, listen to me. This matter will be resolved today!" Qin Xiaoyu's temper flared up, and she dragged Zhou Yue out the door.

Upon arriving at the checkpoint, Qin Xiaoyu passed through smoothly, apparently thanks to Commander Zhou's intervention. However, Zhou Yue was stopped and had to get out of the car to register.

"Are you blind! She's Zhou Yue!" Qin Xiaoyu was furious and killed anyone who stood in her way. Only then did the guards realize what was happening, gasped, and made way for her.

"Now everyone in the military region knows," Zhou Yue said worriedly.

"What are you afraid of? You didn't do anything wrong!" Qin Xiaoyu stepped on the gas and sped up in front of the Zhou family's villa.

When the guard, Xiao Chen, heard the noise, he came to open the door and was quite frightened when he saw Zhou Yue.

"Little Fish's back? Let's eat..." Commander Zhou was always more enthusiastic towards Qin Xiaoyu than towards Zhou Xing's mother, and he took the initiative to greet her, afraid that she would feel awkward in front of Zhou Xing's mother. He swallowed the rest of his sentence.

Is the person in front of him his precious daughter, whom he has raised with such care?

Clang! Hearing the noise, Zhou Xing's mother came out and dropped the bowl in her hand to the ground.

"Xiaoyue?" she called tentatively in a weak voice.

"Mom..." Zhou Yue threw herself into her arms and burst into tears.

For the next half hour, the atmosphere in the Zhou family was so tense it was almost suffocating. The doctor had come and examined Zhou Yue, treating her wounds.

Hanhan and her younger sister were taken upstairs. Zhou Xing wasn't there; the Zhou couple sat in the living room, waiting for Zhou Yue's parents-in-law and husband to arrive.

"Old Zhou, I've failed in raising my son, I've come to apologize to you!" Zhou Yue's father-in-law was dressed casually, and upon entering the door, he immediately showed weakness and adopted a very humble posture.

Commander Zhou's face was almost expressionless; he sat upright and didn't even glance at his in-laws.

After crying, Zhou Xing's mother washed her face. Her eyelids were still a little swollen, and she kept wiping them with a handkerchief.

When Qin Xiaoyu helped Zhou Yue out of the dining room, her parents-in-law were also startled.

"Hey, you brat, who taught you to hit your wife!" Knowing he was in trouble today, Zhou Yue's father-in-law turned around and slapped his son twice, but both times he raised his hand high and brought it down lightly, without getting a speck of dust off his clothes.

Zhou Yue's husband, Chen Kai, wasn't very tall. Even in his military uniform, his posture was far inferior to Zhou Xing's. He looked resentful and wouldn't even look at people directly.

"You child, go and admit your mistake! Go!" Zhou Yue's mother-in-law was also anxious, grabbing her son's ear and shouting.

"It's not all my fault. She can't even lay an egg, and you're blaming me?"

Commander Zhou's hands were trembling slightly. If he had a gun at hand, Chen Kai would probably have fallen to the ground in the next second. He clenched his fists and stood up, slowly closing in on Chen Kai.

"Old Zhou! Old Zhou! Calm down, calm down. This is about the child, isn't it? We're in-laws, let's talk this out and not ruin our relationship." Zhou Yue's in-laws were determined to protect their son, blocking Commander Zhou's way and preventing him from getting close.

Just then, no one saw how Qin Xiaoyu rushed over.

She was holding a stainless steel tray, which Xiao Chen used to serve tea. She pulled hard, and the teacups on it rolled to the ground.

The next second, the tray had already slammed down on Chen Kai's head. The tray was very heavy; it was only because Qin Xiaoyu had trained her physical strength by carrying the little girl recently that she could have swung it.

With a loud bang, still echoing, the first blow knocked Chen Kai unconscious. He clutched his head and fell backward. Qin Xiaoyu didn't care about his head or face, just kept smashing him down, cursing incessantly: "You beast! You bastard! You dare hit my sister! You dare hit my sister! I'll cripple you!"

Zhou Yue's parents-in-law were initially stunned, but once they realized what was happening, they rushed over to try and pull Qin Xiaoyu away.

The two guards from the Zhou family were seething with anger, their fists clenched sore, but they dared not act without orders. Now that they saw Qin Xiaoyu make a move, they rushed over, pretending to break up the fight, but actually protecting her inside so they could beat her at will, preventing Zhou Yue's parents-in-law from getting close.

The guards are all very skilled; it would be too easy for them to prevent anyone from passing.

So Qin Xiaoyu kept hitting him until her hands ached so much she couldn't even lift the tray anymore, then she threw it to the ground with a thud. Still not satisfied, she kicked Chen Kai, who had no ability to resist, twice more in the face before turning back.

"You! You! Who are you? How dare you attack my son right in front of me! Old Zhou, you need to give me an explanation today! My son has been beaten!"

“My daughter was also beaten,” Commander Zhou said coldly.

"That's just the young couple, their own family matter. They can fight all they want, but this is blatant violence in front of me! Who do you think you are?! I'm going to arrest them!"

"You dare touch Xiaoyu and see what happens! Didn't you hear what she said? She's Xiaoyue's sister, and she's my goddaughter. This is a family matter!" Zhou Xing's mother, emboldened by some unknown source, rushed over and shielded Qin Xiaoyu behind her.
