Chapter 292 Mother and Child Connected

Qin Xiaoyu knocked on Commander Zhou's bedroom door, but there was no response.

She gritted her teeth and pushed open the door. Commander Zhou was lying there fully clothed, motionless. Startled, Qin Xiaoyu rushed over and noticed that his breathing was heavy. She touched his forehead; it was burning hot.

Qin Xiaoyu quickly called a doctor, and thankfully Commander Zhou only had a cold.

She knew best that this illness was not as simple as a cold; it was the eruption of the anger that the old man had been suppressing. Ever since his only son passed away, he had been almost constantly suppressing his emotions, and the illness stemmed from that.

"What are we going to do? Your Brother Deng isn't here yet." Zhou Xing's mother, feeling lost, muttered to herself.

"Where did my dad go?" Xiao Jin suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

"Your dad is away on a business trip for a few days." Qin Xiaoyu didn't know much about the farm and didn't dare to say anything.

She was still praying in her heart, but her fourth sister-in-law had misunderstood; perhaps Sister-in-law Deng had only suffered minor injuries.

“Let’s go home,” Xiao Jin said, turning to Xiao Weiba Lisheng.

"You can stay here; there's no one home."

"My mom will be home tonight." Xiao Jin walked towards the door without turning her head.

"Your mom isn't back!" Qin Xiaoyu regretted saying it as soon as she finished speaking; Xiao Jin was too sensitive.

"How do you know my mom didn't come back?" Xiao Jin stopped and pressed closer.

"I heard it from your father." Qin Xiaoyu, who wasn't used to lying, blushed.

"How are we going to get home in this rain? All of you, go upstairs and sleep!" Zhou Xing's mother scolded. Only she could settle things. The children were usually a little afraid of her, so they didn't dare to argue and obediently went upstairs with her.

The doorbell rang, and Xiao Chen ran to open the door. Tang Wenwen walked in, soaking wet.

"My goodness, why are you back? You're soaked to the bone, what if you catch a cold!" Qin Xiaoyu's head was about to explode; none of these people were easy to deal with.

"Take me to the hospital to see the child. My train leaves at dawn, and I have to rush back." Tang Wenwen's teeth chattered as she spoke.

What could Qin Xiaoyu say? She could only turn around, grab her car keys, and take her to the hospital.

Little Zichen's fever has completely subsided, and since his fourth sister-in-law's breasts are painfully engorged, she's giving him a good meal first. Little Zhengxin is still a bit listless, so his fourth sister-in-law is playing with him.

They were both surprised to see Qin Xiaoyu and Tang Wenwen enter.

Fourth Sister-in-law was quick-witted and promptly sent the two nannies away.

"I don't want to hold him anymore, I'm cold." Tang Wenwen recognized the baby who was nursing as Xiao Zichen. Xiao Si's sister-in-law pulled the breast out of the baby's mouth, intending to hand it to him.

When Xiao Zichen's rice bowl was taken away, he got angry and kicked his legs as if he was about to cry. His face turned red, and his sister-in-law Xiao Si quickly stuffed it back into his bowl. Only then did he start eating heartily.

"Alright, sister-in-law, I'm leaving now. Thank you." Tang Wenwen took out an envelope, placed it on the table, and got up to leave.

"Why are you doing this to yourself?" Qin Xiaoyu said with heartache.

The entire trip took more than ten hours, and Tang Wenwen only managed to see the baby once. Poor mother.

"Little Fish, Wenwen?"

Qin Xiaoyu looked up in alarm. She wasn't mistaken; it was Grandma Hanhan.

"Mom, what are you doing here?"

"I've come to get medicine for my wife; she has a cold. Isn't Wenwen in the provincial capital? Why isn't she coming home after she got back? Is she sick?" Grandma Hanhan, concerned for her daughter, rushed over to check on her.

"It's nothing, she came back to buy some goods and has to take the night train back soon. She caught a bit of a cold, so I brought her to get checked out. She's fine now," Qin Xiaoyu quickly tried to cover it up.

"Mom, I have a cold. Don't infect you. I'm leaving." Tang Wenwen's eyes were already brimming with tears. She was so fragile that she was afraid she would break down in tears if she said another word.

Under Grandma Hanhan's astonished gaze, they hurriedly came out.

"Look how dangerous it is, you need to be careful in the future. Now everyone knows that Xiao Zichen is Fourth Brother's child, which will be good for his growth. Look at Fourth Sister-in-law, although she is not very old, she is really good to the child, so you can rest assured." Qin Xiaoyu could only advise him in this way.

After seeing Tang Wenwen off at the train station, she went onto the platform by herself. Watching her lonely figure, Qin Xiaoyu's heart remained unsettled for a long time.

Women's fates are truly fraught with hardship.

By the next morning, Commander Zhou's fever had subsided. He was physically strong and had an iron will, so he recovered faster than others.

He insisted on going downstairs to eat, but Zhou Xing's mother was unhappy and kept muttering to herself.

"These kids aren't afraid of getting infected, what's wrong with them having a meal upstairs!"

"This is my home, I get to decide where I eat!" Commander Zhou slammed his fist on the table, finally silencing Zhou Xing's mother.

"Stay away from me, or your grandmas will eat me alive!" Commander Zhou looked at the younger children and still felt embarrassed.

Zhou Yue now lives and works at the garment factory. After Qin Xiaoyu arrives at work, she knocks on Zhou Yue's office door first, and after a while, Zhou Yue comes out with her hair disheveled.

"I went to bed at three o'clock last night, this thunder was really intense!" Zhou Yue stretched and yawned.

"Eat up." Qin Xiaoyu had gone around to Qi Si's place to get some breakfast when she came.

"Dinner's ready." Zhou Yue called out as she turned around. With a thud, someone tumbled off a chair inside—it was Factory Director Fei.

"I'm starving to death." Master Zheng got up from the pile of fabric on the ground.

"Are you guys trying to work yourselves to death?" Qin Xiaoyu was both anxious and touched.

"I brought steamed buns, come and eat!" Wang Lingling walked in carrying a basin.

"You left so late yesterday, didn't I tell you to come later?" Zhou Yue took a steamed bun and stuffed it into her mouth, while also yawning.

"I was just worried about you all, so please eat."

They gathered around the table and began to feast. Qin Xiaoyu looked at the design drawings, marveling at them as she looked. Was this a fashion empire rising?

After the incident with Master Xu, Zhou Yue learned her lesson and has been studying hard ever since, greatly improving her independent creative abilities.

Factory Director Fei sleeps here only to keep an eye on Master Zheng. Qin Xiaoyu could tell that the two were deeply in love, and Factory Director Fei was doing this entirely to keep Zhou Yue away.

But she couldn't just sit there and watch; everyone else was busy, so she had to contribute. Thus, the cutting work was assigned to her. It seems Director Fei had some obsessive-compulsive tendencies; the cut patterns were so neat and precise that even a Virgo would find them pleasing.

Master Zheng suddenly found a sky where he could let his imagination run wild, and he couldn't stop himself. This fashion design of his would not be inferior to any other design if it were submitted to Paris Fashion Week.

Wang Lingling is the weakest among them, but she has the strongest practical skills. She spends the most time working in front of the machines and has the best grasp of the degree of fabric processing.

"I have to tell you guys, you can't push yourselves like this. Your health is the most important thing. We have important things to do, and we can't let small things delay us!" Qin Xiaoyu still wanted to remind them.
