Only after leaving that environment did I realize that the smell was becoming increasingly suffocating.
This is practically the distance from hell to heaven.
She closed her eyes contentedly and let out a sigh of relief.
There was a light knock on the door, and before Qin Xiaoyu could respond, it was opened.
A staff member came in, pushing a food cart.
"Young Master Lei said you should eat something first, and not take a bath on an empty stomach."
Qin Xiaoyu never imagined that the lock was just for show. She could only shrink her body into the foam, leaving only her small face exposed. After they left, she reached out her arm, grabbed a small cake, and stuffed it directly into her mouth.
She was extremely hungry.
"Can't you eat a little more ladylike?" A Lei walked out from what looked like a cabinet door, which turned out to be connected to the bedroom.
Damn, the bathroom is a maze of interconnected passageways—what does that mean?
Qin Xiaoyu was terrified. She quickly slid into the water, but the movement was too sudden and the bathtub was too slippery. She went straight to the bottom and choked on her own breath. It was only when A Lei grabbed her hair and pulled her up that she was able to catch her breath.
"Get out! What do you want to do!" Qin Xiaoyu said angrily, her hands covering her chest.
"I don't want to do anything today. I just want to let you know that I've been thinking about it these past few days, and playing games with a woman like you is still quite tempting. Think about it some more, I'll give you some time." After saying that, A Lei picked up a piece of cake, put it in his mouth, licked his cream-covered fingers, glared at Qin Xiaoyu, and strode out.
Qin Xiaoyu floated up and down in the bathtub, her mind in turmoil.
This man is shameless to the extreme.
But he saved her.
After taking a shower, she wrapped herself in a thick towel bathrobe and cautiously peeked out of the bathroom.
"Please come with me." Two staff members were standing by the door. When they saw her come out, they immediately bowed, which startled her.
They led her into the room opposite, which turned out to be a walk-in closet filled with women's clothes. From underwear to socks, everything was there. If it weren't for A Lei's tall stature, Qin Xiaoyu would have almost suspected that he had a cross-dressing fetish.
Qin Xiaoyu was in a hurry to leave, so she didn't choose carefully. She found a simple dress that fit perfectly and a pair of lambskin boat shoes, and quickly got dressed.
When she finished getting ready and came out, A Lei was no longer there. The driver was waiting outside and took her directly to the hospital.
Without a doubt, Commander Zhou was staying in the best ward in the military hospital. Qin Xiaoyu ran upstairs and, as soon as she entered the corridor, she saw Zhou Xing's mother walking towards her and hugging her tightly.
"Come in quickly, your uncle is so worried. He won't believe anything I say, he insists I'm just trying to comfort him. Let him see you." Zhou Xing's mother didn't even have time to wipe away her tears before dragging Qin Xiaoyu inside.
In just two days, Commander Zhou became so thin that his face slumped down.
"You're useless, you can't even protect your own children." Commander Zhou said, tears streaming down his face.
"It's my fault for causing trouble for Da Da." Qin Xiaoyu pulled his thin hand over with heartache and held it tightly.
This is her elderly father.
Since it was said that Qin Xiaoyu had returned, Commander Zhou's hospital room has been in constant turmoil.
Zhou Yue came over with her two children, followed by Qi Si and her cousin's wife.
Qin Xiaoyu was afraid of disturbing Commander Zhou's rest, so she had no choice but to bring them out.
