The tricycle was a novelty for the children. Song Yan's family had a larger one, which they usually used to transport goods.
Occasionally, Brother Zhu would put them on his car and ride around, which Lingzi and Zhao Qi both loved.
I was so excited to see my mom bring one home today!
"Mom, can I ride this tricycle?" Lingzi looked up at Liu Zi with hopeful eyes.
“You’re too young, it’s too dangerous for you to ride. You can ride when you’re older.” Liu Zi rubbed her daughter’s head.
"Oh!" Reiko was disappointed for a moment.
“This vehicle was bought by Mom for Grandma. From now on, when we go out, Grandma will take you around in her tricycle.”
"When you grow up and become an adult, Mom will buy you your own car, okay?" Liu Zi squatted down to comfort her daughter.
Lingzi thought about it for a moment, then looked at her short legs, and finally sighed and agreed.
When will she grow up?
“But I can’t ride a tricycle!” Aunt Zhang said uncertainly from the side.
“This is easier to learn than a bicycle, and it’s more stable. Why don’t you sit on it and try it out?” Liu Zi helped the still hesitant Aunt Zhang onto the vehicle.
The car seat had been lowered to its lowest position as Liu Zi had requested. When Aunt Zhang sat down, she felt that her feet could touch the ground with a simple stretch, and she immediately felt at ease.
"Huh? This tricycle is definitely better than a bicycle." Aunt Zhang wiggled the handlebars left and right, tried pedaling forward a couple of times, and the tricycle began to move slowly forward.
Aunt Zhang gripped the handlebars, her body tensing up instinctively. After riding for three or five meters, she realized that the tricycle didn't wobble like she used to when she rode a bicycle, and she immediately felt relieved.
Aunt Zhang was as excited as if she had received a great toy. She rode her bicycle around the area three or five times before stopping.
"Please rest and don't tire yourself out!" Liu Zi was both amused and exasperated, not expecting that Aunt Zhang would like it so much.
"This tricycle is great! How much is it? You can pay for it yourself, ma'am." Grandma Zhang stroked the handlebars with her hand, feeling happy. She never thought she could still ride a tricycle at her age.
"You don't need to spend any money. I bought this to make it easier for you to carry Lingzi and Zhao Qi. Otherwise, it's inconvenient to take them out." Liu Zi waved her hand, telling Aunt Zhang not to be polite, it's just a tricycle.
Aunt Zhang didn't say much to Liu Zi, knowing that she wouldn't accept the money, and planned to make up for it elsewhere later.
Liu Zi glanced at the time and, seeing that it was almost time, said goodbye to the three of them and rode her bike into the city.
I had an appointment with Foreman Wang today to finalize the design drawings and go through the approval process.
She has a month and a half to apply for the construction permit, so it should be fine.
The winters in Beijing are so cold that no matter how many layers Liu Zi wears, she still feels frozen to the bone.
She took off her helmet, rubbed her numb ears, and stomped her feet to catch her breath.
The garbage in the yard had been mostly cleaned up. Liu Zi heard some noise coming from the house near the gatehouse. She glanced inside and saw Foreman Wang and Lin Yizhou sitting there drinking tea.
"Zizi's here! Come in quickly, look how pale her face is from the cold. Have some hot water to warm her up." Foreman Wang stood up and beckoned her to come inside.
“This room…” Liu Zi looked around the room from the outside.
"You don't trust your Uncle Wang's expertise? I've already checked it. The main structure of the house is intact and it's very safe. Come on over!" Foreman Wang hurriedly explained.
"oh oh!"
Liu Zi didn't think there was anything wrong with it. She needed to protect herself now, as her parents and two children still depended on her. She had to be careful and not make any mistakes.
"This Mr. Lin said he's your friend and came to deliver something to you."
"I know, we made an appointment yesterday."
"Okay, you guys chat first. I'll go out and check on their work. We'll come back later to discuss the blueprints."
“Okay, Uncle Wang.” Liu Zi nodded.
Lin Yizhou then told Foreman Wang to get back to work.
After the two sat down again, Lin Yizhou handed over his phone.
Liu Zi took it and glanced at it, raising an eyebrow as she looked at Lin Yizhou.
"Brother Li felt bad about it, so he gave you a nice treat." Lin Yizhou picked up his teacup and took a sip.
"Alright, at least I didn't help for nothing." Liu Zi accepted it without any qualms.
Lin Yizhou nearly spat out his tea; when did this woman become so shameless?
"What? Did I say something wrong?" Liu Zi said irritably.
"You almost smashed up their shop, couldn't you have done it a little more gently?" When Lin Yizhou first heard this, he thought that Brother Li was describing someone else.
"Compared to the shop assistant who has worked there for many years, the manager definitely trusts her more. If she hadn't knocked my phone away first, I wouldn't have bothered to pull her hair."
Liu Zi rolled her eyes. Her little white dog had only been used for a few months before it died, so of course she was angry.
"Did you go there yesterday because your computer had a problem, or to buy parts?" Lin Yizhou asked, still thinking about it.
"No, we just need a TV at home, and I was thinking of going over to pick one out. Also, my yard is going to be renovated soon, so I need to check out the appliances beforehand. I never expected to run into that gossipy old woman. What bad luck!"
"You were too impulsive back then. The shop assistant said he just accidentally knocked your phone away, and you hit him. If it weren't for Brother Li set it off, you'd be in the police station by now."
"Can a phone fly eight feet away by accident? Let the other party report it. I was careful with my movements. That woman only suffered minor injuries at most. Let's see if the security team makes me pay for medical expenses first, or if she pays me for the phone."
Liu Zi wasn't going to put up with the other woman. When the woman saw that Liu Zi was dressed in shabby clothes, she first started cursing at her, and then, when Liu Zi got angry, she even tried to hit her. Liu Zi was being kind by not using her stun gun on her.
"At least you have some brains," Lin Yizhou joked.
"This matter is over, and you've already vented your anger. There's no need to hold a grudge against that woman anymore. I heard she's been fired, so you won't see her next time you go."
"That woman deserved to be fired. Your brother Li is also unlucky. In a store with such a large flow of people in Zhongyun Village, there is still such a clerk. I wonder how much reputation that woman has ruined for Polaris." Liu Zi shook her head in disappointment.
"As for the future, I feel like I have a bad karmic connection with that place, and I will never go there again."
Liu Zijing replied, "This city is so big, there's plenty of places to buy things, why do you have to go there?"
"Alright!"
Lin Yizhou's expression wasn't good; it seemed he would have to mention it to Brother Li again later.
As for the area around Zhongyun Village, it's been quite unsettled lately, so Liu Zi, being a woman, should probably avoid going there as much as possible.
Do you know where to buy a used car?
Liu Zi calculated the money in her hand. Buying a new car was a bit tight, but buying a used one should be no problem.
It's so cold in the middle of winter, she's afraid that one day she might not be careful and her face will get frostbite again.
"You want to buy a car?"
Lin Yizhou looked at Liu Zi with a meaningful gaze. Where did this woman get her money?
