On Friday morning, Jiang Xiaoli followed the information on her admission ticket to find her seat number in Class 2 of Senior Three and sat down.
Behind her was a girl with bangs and thick glasses, who poked her in the back.
Jiang Xiaoli turned around. "What's wrong?"
The girl asked curiously, "Which class are you in? I've never seen you before?"
She answered frankly, "It's normal that you haven't seen me before, I'm not a senior in high school."
"So you're that freshman! No wonder you're so small. Did you really learn all the material from the three years of high school?" the girl asked immediately upon hearing her words.
Jiang Xiaoli was exasperated. She had grown 0.8 centimeters taller recently! How could they laugh at her for being short? Hmph, she was unhappy!
She said calmly, "Yes, I've finished learning."
Then he turned his head back and stopped answering the girl's other questions.
The students in the classroom who overheard their conversation huddled together and whispered among themselves.
"This junior high school girl is quite proud."
"Yeah, I don't know if he's a real genius or just a gimmick."
"There aren't that many geniuses. I think it's good enough if she can even understand the question."
Jiang Xiaoli occasionally heard their conversation, but she didn't care at all.
In terms of mental fortitude, all the students in this classroom combined couldn't match her.
If they want to know how good she is, they'll find out on the day the results are released.
The bell rang, and the proctor walked in with the sealed exam papers. "This is a city-wide joint exam for senior high school students. Be careful when you do the questions, and be sure to check them repeatedly after you finish. Don't lose points because of carelessness."
"Understood," the students in the classroom responded in unison to the proctor's instructions.
When the test papers were handed out, Jiang Xiaoli flipped through the entire paper and couldn't help but purse her lips.
The proctor on the stage was a substitute teacher for Class 1 of Senior Three, and she kept a close eye on Jiang Xiaoli's movements.
Seeing her expression, she whispered to the male teacher next to her, "See that girl over there? That's Mr. Chen's student from the first year of high school. She insisted on signing up to participate in the senior year joint exam. Judging from her expression, she's probably struggling with the test. What do you think she's trying to achieve?"
The male teacher next to her teaches math, and he and Chen Zhe are natural competitors.
He smiled and echoed the female teacher, "Teacher Chen probably finally found a clever student and wants to show it to us."
Jiang Xiaoli didn't care what they were discussing, and the reason she pouted wasn't because she was stumped by the questions on the test paper.
But... is this really a city-wide joint exam question? It's too easy!
She read through the entire math test without even using scratch paper, answering each multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank question in just a few seconds.
When it came to proof-solving questions, she would simply write down the answers.
The entire test paper was completed in just 25 minutes.
She closed her pen and yawned, looking a little bored.
Looking around at my classmates, I realized they had mostly just finished their multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank exercises.
"Student, look at your own paper, don't look around!" The female teacher's voice came from above her head.
Jiang Xiaoli glanced at her, then raised her hand. "Teacher, can I hand in my paper now?"
The female teacher paused, her hand still holding the water she was drinking. "What did you say? You want to hand in your paper early?"
The male teacher frowned and said, "It's only been a short time and you're already handing in your papers? I just looked at the exam questions, and they weren't difficult. If you can't even do this level, what's the point of signing up for the joint exam?"
Jiang Xiaoli, impatient with their explanation, picked up the test paper and stood up, saying, "Teacher, I'm finished. I want to hand in my paper early."
After saying that, she took her pen and exam admission ticket, placed the exam paper on the podium, and left the classroom.
The two proctors and the other students in the classroom were stunned.
Seeing that the students were all looking at the figure walking out of the classroom, the female teacher was the first to react.
"Stop looking at these things, everyone focus on your problems!"
The male teacher picked up the test paper with a grim expression and began to look at it; the more he looked, the darker his face became.
The female teacher walked around the classroom and returned to the podium. "How was this student's answer?"
The male teacher put down the test paper and sighed softly, "Well, Teacher Chen really struck gold this time. I wonder if the other student who took the joint exam early got the same score as this girl."
The female teacher gasped in astonishment, "No way, how is that possible...?"
She had been watching Jiang Xiaoli answer the questions the whole time, so she could completely rule out the possibility that Jiang Xiaoli was cheating.
The facts are right before their eyes; there is a genius right under their noses, and they can't deny it.
While the other students were still in class, Jiang Xiaoli was wandering aimlessly on the playground after leaving the exam room when Chen caught her.
Chen couldn't help but glance at his watch. "It's only 9:40. Did you hand in your paper early?"
Jiang Xiaoli said with a grin, "Hehe, the test paper was too easy. I was bored sitting in the exam room, so I came out for some fresh air."
Just as Chen was about to give her a lecture, he saw Xu Xing walk out of the teaching building.
Instantly, he swallowed his words and sighed, "You two are really something!"
Xu Xing maintained his usual fine character, bowing his head and remaining silent.
Jiang Xiaoli couldn't help but complain to Chen, "Teacher Chen, you don't know, those senior high school students and proctors all think we're no good, so I handed in my paper early and got a high score to show them!"
Xu Xing encountered the same situation as her, "There's no need to care about them, let's see how the results turn out."
Chen Zhe now understood what they meant. "Alright, fine, once the results of this joint exam come out, these sarcastic remarks will be gone."
After the second period, Jiang Xiaoli and Xu Xing returned to Class 1 of the first year of high school.
Xie Yitao exclaimed as if he had discovered a new continent, "Didn't you and Xu Xing go to take the joint entrance exam?"
Jiang Xiaoli raised her eyebrows smugly, "Sit down, sit down! Is the joint entrance exam that difficult? Isn't handing in the paper early normal practice?"
Li Cheng, standing nearby, mocked Xie Yitao, "If you doubt our Academic God Jiang's abilities again, I'm going to draw my sword!"
"That's right!" Hou Rui chimed in from behind.
This week, the key points for the midterm exam that Jiang Xiaoli summarized for Xie Yitao and the others have been circulating in the class.
Suddenly, she and Xu Xing were on equal footing, becoming the academic genius Jiang.
Upon hearing Xie Yitao's words, Jiang Xueshen's fans overwhelmingly supported Jiang Xiaoli.
Xie Yitao touched his nose. "You guys don't need to be so obsequious, do you think I don't know how capable my deskmate is?"
"Haha." Jiang Xiaoli stood up and cupped her hands in a gesture of thanks to everyone. "Thank you all for your kind words! You're too kind!"
The atmosphere around her was very lively, with everyone asking her about taking the joint entrance exam.
She used her eloquence to portray herself as a pitiful little thing looked down upon by other students and teachers.
"I was thinking to myself, I'm going to teach them a lesson! And guess what? As soon as I handed in my paper, they saw that they had only finished the multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank questions, and they panicked!"
"Hahaha! They actually looked down on our academic genius Jiang! They deserve it!"
