Chapter 34 Zong Jia's Past

"And what about you? Why are you in such a hurry to make money? I've never seen a high school senior repeating his senior year with more leisure than you."

Zong Jia wiped his hands and brought a stool for the two of them. "You'll find out sooner or later anyway, so I won't let you hear about me from other people."

He paused for a few seconds, organized his thoughts, and then slowly began to speak.

"Not long after the country opened up, my mother left me and went abroad. My father couldn't contact her no matter what. About two years later, she suddenly returned to China and asked to divorce my father."

My dad initially disagreed, but my mom said she had remarried and had a child over there, so my dad gave up.

She didn't want me; she gave my dad a lump sum of money as child support and then left.

After that, I didn't hear from her for almost ten years.

My dad remarried, and the woman has a son who is five years younger than me.

My mom suddenly came back a couple of years ago.

She got divorced again; she lost the child from that year and wants to come back and acknowledge me.

She gave my dad another sum of money, trying to take me away, but I refused.

But the woman my dad later found was very willing and kept urging him to agree to give me to my mom, which made my grandfather so angry that he had a heart attack and died.

This house was left to me by my grandfather.

After this happened, my dad got really angry, and it took a long time for the woman to calm down.

After that, that woman targeted me even more. You heard Dafu say that during this year's college entrance exam, she deliberately picked a fight with me, causing me to miss one subject.

It's my fault too. I never expected her to cause trouble during my college entrance exam.

"Right now, all I want is to get my brothers out of this mess as soon as possible and make something of ourselves."

At this point, Jiang Xiaoli finally understood. No wonder he wore a watch and used pens from international luxury brands, yet he was so keen on making money.

"Does your mother still come looking for you?"

Zong Jia scoffed, "Come on, why don't you come? You're sending me loads of stuff, what's the use? If her child survives, will I even get to see her? Ridiculous!"

Jiang Xiaoli nodded in agreement. She suddenly missed Li Guizhi; she had a good mother!

She stood up, patted Zong Jiayu on the shoulder, and then slammed the discarded newspapers on the table. "Don't worry, kid! Follow me, making money is a piece of cake!"

Sunlight streamed in through the window, illuminating the dust she had stirred up, making it look messy.

But in Zong Jiayu's eyes, Little Pear seemed to be shining at this moment.

Her bright expression seemed to dispel any gloom.
