Chapter 36 A Reasonable and Understanding Mother

Jiang Xiaoli shared the plan she had come up with on her way back.

"My family will contribute 20% of the filling recipe, you will contribute 20% for management, and we'll split the remaining 60% equally based on our investment. How about that?"

Zong Jia exchanged glances with the three of them, and he spoke first, "Little Pear, let the three of us discuss this."

“Okay!” Jiang Xiaoli went straight into the house, making room for them.

Li Guizhi had just taken the money out of the envelope and counted it when she saw her daughter come in. She smiled and said, "5268 yuan, not a penny less!"

Jiang Xiaoli smiled and said, "Mom, keep this safe. We'll need some of it when we open a steamed bun shop with them later."

Li Guizhi was just about to ask about this when Xiao Zong came to ask me what utensils she needed to steam buns, and that's how I found out you guys were going to open a bun shop! How come you have a different idea every day? How can we possibly manage it all?

"It's okay, Mom. Just write down the recipes for all the fillings these next couple of days and teach them. We'll only provide the recipes and a portion of the money; the management will be handled by them!" Jiang Xiaoli explained carefully to her mother.

"I see. But if you open a shop and let someone else manage it, can you still make money?" Although Li Guizhi had a good impression of these children, she still had some doubts about opening a shop together.

Jiang Xiaoli smiled, "Mom, if you doubt someone, don't use them; if you use someone, don't doubt them. Besides, we can check the accounts anytime. I think at least in the short term, they won't cheat us. Later, when we've accumulated enough money, we can handle this partnership however we want, don't you think?"

Li Guizhi thought for a moment, then nodded with a smile, "That's right, you little rascal, you're really a clever little devil now!"

Just as the mother and daughter finished talking, Zong Jiayu knocked on the door, "Little Pear, we've made up our minds, why don't you come out and listen?"

When Jiang Xiaoli arrived at the main room, she saw that Dafu and Nangua had already left with the seasoning packets, indicating that they intended to let him take full control.

She sat down casually on the small stool. "How so?"

Zong Jia tapped his fingers lightly on the table. "It's fair. We agree. How much should we contribute?"

She thought for a moment, "How about 1,000 yuan per person? The first store definitely won't need that much. We can use the rest for working capital, or we can use it to open a new store once our business is on track. What do you think?"

"Okay, it's settled then. Pumpkin will be in charge of the steamed bun shop for now. Once it's all set up in the next couple of days, could you please give me some guidance?"

He phrased it euphemistically, but Jiang Xiaoli knew he was referring to the filling recipe.

“No problem. My mom has just finished organizing the recipes for all the fillings these past few days. I’ll sort them out and write them down, and then she can check them out for Guage.”

Zong Jia smiled and extended his right hand. "Well then, Little Pear Sister, I wish us a pleasant collaboration?"

Jiang Xiaoli smiled and shook his hand, "It's a pleasure working with you!"

Li Guizhi came out after sorting out the money and saw their serious expressions. "Hehe, you two have made up your minds?"

Zong Jia withdrew her hand, savoring the softness of Little Pear's little hand as she smiled and replied, "Yes, Auntie, I'll have to trouble you later."

Li Guizhi waved her hand, "Xiao Zong, why are you being so polite? It's my pleasure."

After seeing Zong Jiayu off, Jiang Xiaoli took out the list of new clients and their addresses that she had acquired that morning.

"Mom, have any of these stores placed orders this afternoon?"

Li Guizhi glanced at them and said, "Yes, quite a lot. Oh dear, the orders are getting bigger and bigger. How are we going to keep up?"

Jiang Xiaoli had already thought of this problem. "Mom, let's hire some people. Let's find two people to help you, so you only need to supervise. We need to spend the money! We can't send our earnings to the hospital!"

"Okay! I'll do whatever you say!" Li Guizhi knew that her daughter wasn't afraid of medical expenses; she genuinely didn't want her to suffer.

She thought for a moment, "If we're hiring someone, what do you think of Grandma Zhang at the north end of the alley?"

Grandma Zhang is a pitiful person. She lives with her granddaughter and makes a living by receiving meager relief funds and mending clothes for others.

Jiang Xiaoli thought for a moment, and it seemed to be a rather clean old lady. She had no objection, "Sure, what about the other one?"

"Should we ask Mao Mao's mom about the other one?"

Jiang Xiaoli really didn't remember this one, but as long as her mother agreed, that was fine. "Okay, Mom, they're probably still awake. Why don't you go ask them? They can come help you tomorrow."

Li Guizhi nodded, "Okay, no problem. So how will the wages be calculated?"

"Let's just take it one day at a time. Ten yuan a day per person shouldn't be too little."

"Okay, you stay home, I'll go ask them right now!"

Li Guizhi left in a hurry, and only then did Jiang Xiaoli have time to wash up and tidy up.

Less than half an hour later, just after she finished showering, Li Guizhi returned.

She dried her hair. "So, are they coming?"

"Come on, why wouldn't you come? We don't have much work, and you can earn more in a month than I do working in a factory!"

"That's good." She paused for a few seconds. "Mom, I want to tell you something."

Li Guizhi was happily calculating tomorrow's total order volume when she heard her daughter's words and immediately stopped what she was doing. "What is it?"

Seeing her mother's concerned expression, she quickly softened her tone, "Haha, it's nothing serious! It's just that I'm planning to go to school tomorrow to apply for an exam with my teacher, and if I pass, I might apply to skip a grade."

"What? Skipping a grade?" Li Guizhi was truly shocked by her daughter's reaction!

"It's not confirmed yet, I just have this idea, but I have to pass the exam," Jiang Xiaoli added.

"Xiaoli, is this really okay? Is there any need to rush?" Li Guizhi didn't understand why her daughter wanted to skip a grade.

Jiang Xiaoli patiently explained to her mother, "Mom, I have already self-studied the entire first year of high school and have mastered it quite well. The content in class is all repetitive for me, which is a waste of time."

Li Guizhi felt a little strange. "Did you suddenly have a breakthrough? You were at the bottom of the class in the high school entrance exam, how did you improve so quickly?"

"Hehe, yeah, Mom, you won't disagree, will you?" She quickly laughed it off, trying to smooth things over.

Li Guizhi only felt that her daughter's improved grades were definitely a good thing, so she stopped worrying about it. "As long as you pass the exam and the teacher has no objections, then I have no objections either."

Jiang Xiaoli hugged her and kissed her on the cheek, "Mom, you are the most understanding and good mom!"

Li Guizhi enjoyed her daughter's affection for a while, then said, "Alright, you have school tomorrow, go to bed early."
