They obediently boarded the plane, and Hawkins, whose ticket was also for first class, seemed intent on continuing their casual conversation with Jiang Xiaoli.
As Xu Xing helped Hawkins put his things away and was about to walk to the back of the plane, Cao Jie stopped him, "Mr. Xu, let me switch seats with you."
After saying that, she didn't care whether Xu Xingtong agreed or not, she swapped her plane ticket with his and left.
Xu Xing could only look at Jiang Xiaoli, who shrugged, "Is sitting in first class burning your butt?"
Hawkins asked curiously, "Miss Jiang, you and Xu are classmates, so you must both be very talented in mathematics. I wonder which teacher you are studying with now?"
She apologized, "I'm sorry to disappoint you, I'm not a math major."
Hearing her say that, Hawkins' interest waned considerably. "Oh, okay, you old classmates can chat all you want. I need to catch up on my sleep."
The first-class area suddenly fell silent until the plane took off and entered level flight, at which point Xu Xing slowly spoke, "Jiang Xiaoli, happy marriage."
"Thank you." Her eyes curved into a smile. "So you knew. I thought you disappeared without a trace after you went abroad."
Xu Xing took a deep breath. "Sorry, I didn't reply to your message."
Jiang Xiaoli laughed heartily, "It's alright, it's alright. It's good to admit your mistakes and correct them."
They turned the page with perfect understanding.
She asked, "I heard you went to Princeton as an exchange student, and you're still an undergraduate? How come you already have a professor supervising you so quickly?"
Xu Xing answered seriously, "Professor Hawkins is one of my course instructors. When we were discussing questions, he took a liking to me and hoped that I would apply to his graduate and doctoral programs."
"Wow, that's amazing!" Jiang Xiaoli exclaimed. "So, you're staying in America from now on?"
“I don’t know yet.” Xu Xing looked at her and said, “I’ve always just wanted to focus on research. It doesn’t matter to me where I am. The academic atmosphere here at Princeton is a bit stronger.”
She nodded and then smiled, saying, "I hope to see your name in the news soon, like Comrade Xu Xing solving something like Ge Cai."
Xu Xing was taken aback. "You think so highly of me?"
As she looked at the menu, she said, "Yeah, so you have to keep it up!"
In her view, Xu Xing possesses all the professional qualities that a scholar should have.
Xu Xing pursed his lips. "Thank you, I will."
They chatted casually until the food was served, at which point Xu Xing said, "I'll go get your assistant."
Jiang Xiaoli looked back and saw that the first class section of the flight was full. She nodded and said, "Okay, thank you."
Cao Jie returned shortly after she left. "Chairman Jiang, why did you only chat for a short while when you old classmates met?"
She handed her the menu, saying, "If we keep chatting, you won't be able to order! Quick, take a look and see what you'd like to eat."
The more than nine-hour flight passed quickly in my sleep.
After getting off the plane, Jiang Xiaoli was still a little unaccustomed to the large crowds at the airport.
Cao Jie also exclaimed, "This is the place with the most crowds I've seen since I went abroad."
The two of them slowly passed through customs with the crowd, and just as they were about to collect their luggage, a tall figure walked over.
Jiang Xiaoli smiled and hugged him, "Ayu, have you been waiting long?"
Zong Jia hugged her back and stroked her hair. "My flight was delayed for a while. I just arrived not long ago."
They retrieved their luggage and ran into Xu Xing and Hawkins, who were also pushing their luggage.
Xu Xing nodded to them. "We need to head straight back to Princeton. See you again sometime."
Jiang Xiaoli waved to him and said, "See you again sometime. And, I wish you happiness."
Xu Xing paused for a moment, then said, "Yes, I wish you happiness."
Zong Jia put his arm around her shoulder and looked at Xu Xing's departing figure. "Was he on the same flight as you?"
As they walked out of the airport, she answered, "It was an unexpected encounter. He was going to the University of Michigan with the professor."
On the way to the hotel, Jiang Xiaoli asked, "What date did you arrange to meet with 'Vulcan'?"
“We were originally supposed to meet the day after tomorrow, the 8th,” Zong Jia said, holding her hand. “But after we landed, I already spoke with Ulysses, the person in charge of ‘Vulcan.’ I’ll accompany you on your business first, and then I’ll go to Philadelphia after Uncle Xiao and the others arrive.”
She frowned and said, "It's not good to break a promise. Why don't you go? Cao Jie and I can manage on our own."
Zong Jiayu's attitude was very firm, "It's okay, you can come to Philadelphia with me when Uncle Xiao and the others arrive. I talked to Ulysses about the patent authorship, and he is very much looking forward to seeing both of us at the same time."
Jiang Xiaoli chuckled softly, "Alright then."
Upon arriving at the hotel, Cao Jie and Ye Biao, who was protecting Zong Jia, went back to their room early.
Zong Jia and his wife, whom he hadn't seen for almost half a month, were cuddling and kissing passionately.
Jiang Xiaoli hugged his neck and said with a smile, "Ayu, I missed you!"
Her response was a passionate kiss. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and she was instantly captivated.
The temperature inside the room continued to rise until it reached its peak.
After a long while, she threw off the blanket. "Ayu, this room is so hot. Is the heating on too high?"
Zong Jia went to check the door and came back to coax, "The heating is only on medium temperature, I turned it down. If it's still hot in a little while..."
Jiang Xiaoli reached out and covered his mouth, "Well said, don't say it again!"
Zong Jia chuckled softly, "Did you sleep on the plane? Do you want to continue sleeping or have something to eat?"
She sat up. "Eat up. The food on this flight is awful. Cao Jie's pasta was undercooked, and my steak was too tough to chew. I'll never choose this airline again."
"Okay, I understand." He got up and helped her put on her clothes one by one. "What would you like to eat?"
She thought for a moment, "Why is it that when I came to the United States, I really wanted to eat fried chicken, fries, hamburgers, and cola?"
Zong Jia smiled and agreed, "Okay, I'll ask around to see if there are any good restaurants nearby."
