After calling Cao Jie and the others, the four of them arrived at the entrance of a restaurant with a long queue in a hotel limousine.
After getting off the bus, Jiang Xiaoli roughly counted, "Is this store that famous? There are at least 30 people in line."
Zong Jia led her by the hand to the back of the line. "I heard this is the most popular burger joint in all of New York. Let's see what the locals think."
Although there were long queues, many people opted for takeout and entered the restaurant after waiting in line for about twenty minutes.
The restaurant has a classic American cowboy style decor. The four of them ordered all six flavors of burgers on the signboard, and also didn't forget the fried chicken, fries and cola that Jiang Xiaoli had requested.
When the meal was served, everyone was dumbfounded. Even Cao Jie, who had such a big appetite, was stunned.
"This hamburger is huge! It's about the size of my head."
Jiang Xiaoli guessed, "This store is so popular, could it be because of the large orders?"
Just then, a Chinese couple sat down in the seats next to them.
The boy laughed when he saw their table full of food. "You must be here for the first time, right?"
Before they could answer, the boy continued, "When my friends and I first came here, we were just like you guys, ordering too much food that we couldn't finish."
The girl across from him smiled and said, "You can ask the waiter to cut it for you, so that everyone can try a few more flavors."
Zong Jia decisively waved and called for a waiter.
Seeing their enthusiasm, Jiang Xiaoli asked with a smile, "Which flavor would you recommend?"
"beef!"
"Cod!"
The young couple gave different answers.
The boy laughed and said, "Look, we have different opinions. You'll have to taste it yourselves."
The waiter quickly divided each burger into four equal parts and said, "Enjoy your meal."
Jiang Xiaoli was the first to try the cod burger recommended by the girl next to her. The rich sauce and tender fried fish fillet burst in her mouth, and she couldn't help but give it a big thumbs up.
The girl raised an eyebrow at her boyfriend triumphantly, "See? Cod is the best."
However, for her next order, Jiang Xiaoli chose a beef burger.
She took a bite and her eyes widened in surprise, which made Zong Jiayu chuckle.
"This one's acting is a bit out of character."
She quickly chewed and swallowed the food, and even took a big gulp of cola to smooth things over.
"Maybe it's because the steak I ate on the plane today was so bad, the beef in this burger is so tender and juicy, I think I'm hallucinating."
The boy next to him laughed heartily, "This is top-quality Angus beef, of course it's delicious!"
Upon hearing this, Zong Jia and the others also tried it, and they all nodded and said, "It tastes really good."
Jiang Xiaoli tried other flavors and commented, "Okay, I take back what I said earlier about this restaurant being popular because of its large portions. The portions and the flavors are both amazing, no wonder it's so popular."
Zong Jiayu smiled and wiped the sauce from her mouth, saying, "It seems my friend's food radar is still trustworthy."
"It's worth it!" She never hesitates to praise delicious food.
After dinner, they returned to the hotel. Zong Jia discussed the car issue with the staff, while Jiang Xiaoli encountered the couple she had met at the burger shop earlier in the hotel lobby.
Both were pleasantly surprised to meet again. The girl smiled and extended her hand to Jiang Xiaoli, "Hello, my name is Ruan Jiajia, and this is my boyfriend Quan Wenyan."
Jiang Xiaoli and the others also introduced themselves.
Quan Yan invited them, "It's still early, would you like to have a drink together?"
Zong Jia apologized, "We just arrived in New York today and are still jet-lagged. Let's meet up another time."
Back in her room, Jiang Xiaoli collapsed onto the sofa and lay motionless, but her eyes kept darting around.
When Zong Jia came out of the bathroom and saw her like this, he smiled and pinched her cheek, "What are you thinking about?"
“I want to hear the full text of the banquet,” she replied. “I feel like I’ve heard that name somewhere before.”
Zong Jiayu hugged her and said, "If you can't remember something with such a good memory, it means it's not important. Let's talk about it when we remember."
She nodded. "That's true."
They leaned against each other, and Zong Jiayu held her hand and played with it. "Little Pear, tomorrow is Sunday. Do you want to go somewhere? Or do you want to eat something delicious?"
Jiang Xiaoli pondered for a long time, "There's nowhere I want to go, let's just eat something good."
"Hehe, okay, I've found several very famous restaurants, let's try them one by one."
She smiled and said, "Why are you so enthusiastic?"
Zong Jiayu said a little apologetically, "We were supposed to have a happy honeymoon after the wedding, but it ended so quickly..."
Jiang Xiaoli turned and kissed his lips, "We'll have plenty of opportunities to go out and have fun together in the future, so one more time won't make a difference."
"I just feel a little regretful that I couldn't give you a perfect wedding and honeymoon from start to finish."
She leaned on his shoulder. "How come I didn't know you were a perfectionist? None of that matters. What matters is the future."
Zong Jiayu assured her, "Okay, Little Pear, we'll go to many, many more places together in the future."
They chatted like that for a long time, and then Zong Jia shared a small thing: he realized that the person in his arms had stopped moving.
He looked down and saw that Jiang Xiaoli was already asleep.
She gently picked her up and placed her on the bed, then drifted off to sleep with her.
