Chapter 74: Old Love Letters

When Father Chu saw Su Nian, he immediately smiled kindly, "Has Beichen's little guest arrived?"

Su Nian shyly went up to him and greeted his father, "Uncle, are you back?"

Chu Beichen once said that his father would go out for a walk every morning, and it looked like he had just returned from his walk.

Sure enough, Father Chu agreed: "Yes, I have to go out for a walk, otherwise my back will ache!"

Everyone was there and sat around the table to eat breakfast.

The wontons and pocket pancakes were all freshly made. Su Nian knew that these seemingly simple meals would take at least an hour to prepare. It seemed that while she was taking a bath, Chu's mother was busy in the kitchen.

"Auntie, you work so hard. Let me cook tomorrow!" Su Nian tasted a wonton and it was very delicious.

"You little girls, sleep well in the morning and don't worry about these things!" Chu's mother picked up the fried eggs with a serving chopstick and distributed them to everyone.

Chu Nancheng also said: "Xiao Nian, just take a good rest, Beichen and I will take care of the housework!"

Father Chu couldn't stand it any longer and pointed at Chu Nancheng, "You are the laziest in the family. You don't act like a big brother at all. If we rely on you, we will have to eat in the cafeteria!"

Chu Nancheng felt a little embarrassed to be exposed in front of his brother's guests. He stiffened his neck and said, "The cafeteria is not bad!"

The family was laughing and joking, and they were having a great time. Su Nian had never seen such a scene before. She had been treated differently from Su Jianchun since she was a child. When Su Jianchun ate meat, she couldn't even drink the soup and could only wash the dishes.

Thinking of these things and comparing them with the lively and intimate scene in the Chu family, Su Nian began to doubt whether Su's father and mother really favored boys over girls towards her.

"Old Chu, I met the Mi family's daughter-in-law yesterday. She kept asking me about Beichen. What do you think she meant?" Chu's mother suddenly said this while eating.

Mi family? Su Nian's heart moved. She was familiar with this surname. After she stayed in the provincial capital, a woman named Mi had come to see her.

"The Mi family?" Father Chu thought for a moment, "I remember his daughter was Beichen's classmate. When I was still in Quzhou, I didn't have much contact with Mi Jiaxing!"

Chu's mother was stunned for a moment. Yes, the two families didn't have much contact. Only her son and her daughter studied together. Could it be that the girl from the Mi family had taken a fancy to Beichen?

This is a big deal. Beichen just brought his girlfriend back. Xiaonian is beautiful and hardworking, so she can't be driven away by the girl from the Mi family! Thinking of this, Mother Chu closed her mouth tightly and stopped talking.

Chu Nancheng suddenly laughed as he thought of something. "Beichen's classmate is that girl named Millie! Now I remember, that girl was precocious and wrote a love letter to Beichen in junior high school!"

As soon as these words came out, the room suddenly became quiet. Chu Beichen frowned and looked at Su Nian, "Brother, what are you talking about?"

Chu Nancheng then realized that he had said something wrong. He bit his chopsticks in embarrassment, wishing he could eat his tongue. He couldn't be blamed for what happened today. If anyone had to blame someone, it was his mother. If she hadn't mentioned the Mi family, how could he have remembered that little girl?

Su Nian remembered what the woman named Millie had said. At that time, Millie looked at her in such a miserable state with a look of disdain on her face. "How could a country woman like you be worthy of Chu Beichen's attention? I really can't understand it!"

Millie got her contact information from Lin Yuemei and rushed all the way from Quzhou to humiliate her! At the time, Su Nian thought Chu Beichen and Millie were together and was very sad. Now it seems that's not the case at all. It's clearly what Millie wanted! That's why she ran to Quzhou to vent!
