Shangguan Wan couldn't free her hands at all. Even though her superpowers had reached their peak, she didn't have superpowers. Her hands were supporting the huge net, so she couldn't free them at all. Using her mental strength, Shangguan Wan realized the zombie standing on the hilltop was just one of them. Not far below the zombies was a valley filled with zombies, slowly pouring towards the top. Shangguan Wan narrowed her eyes and mentally calculated whether there were any other prisoners with superpowers besides the team members. Although they were prisoners, they were also survivors in the apocalypse. She couldn't let anything go on, but she had to quickly calculate how to get more people back safely. She didn't want to abandon these prisoners until it was absolutely necessary, but once her own life was threatened, she couldn't care less.
She was not a saint. She would save people if she could, but would never do anything if she couldn't. Now she didn't have to think about the fact that the three people who escaped were probably dead. Just as she finished thinking about it, the third painful scream was heard. Shangguan Wan collected her thoughts. Needless to say, the third person was also dead. This was their choice.
Han Lie could see Shangguan Wan's anxiety. After thinking for a moment, he quickly stood in front of her and said, "Wanwan, put the car away first and then we will quickly evacuate this location. It's not in our favor right now. I just took a look and we are less than a thousand meters ahead. Once we cross this small valley, we will have the upper hand. So, we need to lure them all out first."
Shangguan Wan understood what Han Lie meant. Looking at the current situation, it was indeed not in her favor. Shangguan Wan quickly thought about how to let go in order to avoid these injuries, unless she could unleash her lightning ability at the moment the net was thrown out. She moved her right heel back and pressed her toes against the ground, ready to take action.
"When a gap appears in the net, you lead them to the place you mentioned. I'll hold the line from behind. Our special abilities can buy you some time. As long as we don't delay, everyone should be able to get up there." Shangguan Wan's eyes flickered with hesitation, but she was determined to do this. This would minimize the risk of injury. She would only be using up most of her special abilities—perhaps not most of them, but all of them. She could fight one against a hundred, or even hundreds. It all depended on how well she could use them.
"No, I must be with you." Han Lie knew what Shangguan Wan was hesitating about. He couldn't watch her fight alone, so he had to stay and fight with her.
"I'm fine. I can run fast. You're slowing me down. What you need to do is quickly bring these people up to the surface to reduce the number of zombies and thus lessen our burden. Also, be careful along the way. I can't guarantee there's nothing underground. Han Lie, be careful." Shangguan Wan spoke gravely about her worries. She had no idea what happened three years later. Although she was reborn, had seized the initiative, and indirectly helped some people, she had no idea what happened three years later because she had already been reborn and returned to three years ago. Therefore, everything that happened afterwards was an unknown experience for her and Han Lie. Whether they were dead or alive was unknown. So Shangguan Wan's worries were not without reason.
"Okay." Han Lie's heart sank, and he quickly kissed Shangguan Wan's red lips. He nodded reluctantly and continued to give orders for the battle.
"Members of the Red Eagles, when the net is opened, stand in two rows and protect them as they run towards the hill at two o'clock. I warn you that it's best not to push or pull, otherwise I will give up on you, do you understand?" Han Lie looked at the prisoners who were still in prison uniforms with sharp eyes and warned them.
Shangguan Wan didn't give them any time to prepare. When she saw the zombie was a little hungry through the gap in the net, she quickly hit the net back. The net was originally convex in shape, but now due to the force, it became concave and was pushed back towards the zombie.
"Retreat." Han Lie stood beside Shangguan Wan as he watched the bright gap suddenly appear in the net. He then looked at those people, stretched out his hand and pushed the person in front of him, then said in a low and mellow voice with a commanding tone.
When the people inside heard Han Lie's order, they responded quickly. The Red Eagle team members used their bodies to build a wide path for them, allowing the people inside to run up the mountain first.
The people inside were selfish by nature. As soon as they saw the situation, they ran towards the mountain. Before leaving, they were still shouting, "You must hold on. Buy us more time."
Han Lie and the Red Eagles chose to ignore this. Perhaps it wasn't because of their uniforms, they really wanted to throw these people into the zombie pile.
When Shangguan Wan threw the net out, she mobilized the lightning in her palm and attached it directly to the mesh of vines. She saw the entire dark brown vine net flashing with electric current, converging towards the center little by little. There were some crackling sounds of electric current wherever it passed, and some places where the mesh was entangled emitted little sparks of fire because of the collision of electric currents.
The net carrying electric current drew an arc in the air and surrounded several zombies that had just appeared on the mountain.
The original net directly wrapped the zombie's body inside, and crackling sounds were heard instantly. The surrounded zombie's body twitched and trembled, and its stiff body twisted. Then Shangguan Wan saw that the skin on the zombie's arms, body, and head showed signs of cracking. This was an explosion of the body caused by lightning.
"Get down!" Shangguan Wan shouted, grabbed Han Lie who was closest to her, turned over and threw him down under her body.
The Red Eagles were all trained, so when Shangguan Wan shouted, they quickly lay down and protected their heads.
The moment Shangguan Wan fell to the ground, a loud rumbling sound came from the mountain behind her.
They felt their ears were vibrating and had tinnitus.
But those who didn't react in time were not so lucky. They were hit by the limbs of zombies falling from the sky, and even the flesh and blood containing the virus splashed on their bodies. The broken bones cut into their bodies, and the virus seeped directly into the skin through the wounds.
