Li Qing had a vague idea of where Xiong Ga was going. Rumor had it that his pet was a brown bear, but so far, Li Qing hadn't even seen a shadow of the bear. Since Xiong Ga was going to follow him to find Ba Dou, he must be well-prepared and bring his big brown bear with him before setting off. He must be going to find his big brown bear now.
Xiong Ga led Li Qing all the way to the back of the tribe, where there was a small mountain covered with all kinds of bright red fruits, and several pine trees interspersed among them, which looked... very incongruous.
Xiong Ga laughed, put his hands to either side of his mouth to make a megaphone shape, and shouted loudly into the hillside: "Mane!"
A deep, muffled roar immediately echoed from the hillside, and a colossal creature, its heavy footsteps echoing, approached the two.
“Mane is a very trustworthy companion,” Xiong Ga said proudly. “When I met this guy, he was just a little bear cub, hiding in the grass eating fish.”
“I fell in love with it then. After a brief conversation with it, it told me that its parents abandoned it because they thought it was weak after it was born,” Xiong Ga recalled, expressing his dissatisfaction. “Who said it was weak? It is my most loyal and powerful partner.”
Just then, a brown shadow appeared on the hilltop. Xiong Ga pointed at it and boasted to Li Qing without any attempt to hide his excitement: "Look at its size. You must see very few creatures like that in your tribe."
As they were talking, the brown bear emerged from the forest and appeared before them. It was at least twice the size of an adult Siberian tiger. Its brown fur shone brightly in the sun, and its small, dark eyes were like two fine black pearls, full of spirit.
Upon seeing Xiong Ga, this enormous creature let out a joyful cry. It leaped with the agility of a feline, bounding a great distance before landing steadily on a tree. It repeated this motion, and the brown bear, known for its clumsiness and brute force, moved like a monkey, leaping back and forth between the branches of several towering pine trees until it was right in front of the two men.
This guy's movements were so agile! Li Qing blinked, somewhat incredulous. He had heard that some bears could climb trees—but most bears, especially adult bears, generally couldn't. Their clumsiness meant they could easily collapse a tree under their weight. Naturally, the impression that "bears can't climb trees" was already ingrained in Li Qing's mind. Seeing a bear that could not only climb trees but also move so nimbly, he exclaimed in admiration, "This guy, is he born in the Year of the Monkey?"
Xiong Ga stroked the mane on his head, his lips slightly parted as if he were talking to it. After a few seconds, Xiong Ga turned around and laughed, "You mean it? Haha, I'm not really sure about it either. I put it here to live. I haven't seen it for a while, and it's like it suddenly learned to climb trees."
Xiong Ga skillfully flipped over and sat on the bear's back, patting the empty space behind him and saying, "Come on, you come up too, this guy is very well-behaved."
“Don’t worry, I just told it that you are our friend,” Xiong Ga said when he saw that Li Qing was still hesitant. “With it around, we will definitely be able to reach our destination safely and quickly.”
Since Xiong Ga had said so, Li Qing had no choice but to climb onto the mane's back, thinking to himself: Safe...it is indeed quite safe. With such a big guy, unless it's a particularly powerful carnivore, other creatures would all have to stay far away when they see it.
The mane on Li Qing's back was surprisingly comfortable. Even though it looked very greasy and stiff, once he sat on it, he felt as if he were sitting on a sofa. It was very soft.
I happily stroked the mane, and the mane seemed to enjoy it, its body trembling and its little head shaking.
"These habits... I wonder if it was a feline in its past life!" Li Qing thought to himself.
Xiong Ga did a rough calculation and said, "I've done a quick calculation. If we just walk, we won't be back to the tribe until dark. That's too slow. With the mane, our speed should be much faster. Hold on tight, it's quite fast when it runs."
Li Qing: "Okay."
Soon, another crucial question came to mind: "By the way, can you communicate with animals?"
Xiong Ga made no attempt to conceal his "special ability," telling Li Qing, "This is an ability that only the people of our Qingye tribe possess. My abilities are stronger than those of others in the tribe, and coupled with my greater strength, I became the chief."
In the time it took to exchange a few words, the two had already entered the tribe. Xiong Ga pointed to some of the battle pets that were wandering around the tribe and said to Li Qing, "That's why they trust our tribe so much and are willing to help our tribe and be friends with our tribe."
From a very young age, Li Qing longed to understand the language of nature. Hearing that the Qingye tribe was born with this ability, he felt a little envious. This meant that although the Qingye tribe seemed weak, it could use the power of nature to fight back if a real battle broke out.
This force is one that cannot be ignored.
...
at the same time.
Black Wind Tribe.
The thin figure knelt humbly at the feet of the tribe's chief, Tu, his head almost buried in the ground.
Tu has been in a bad mood lately.
Duanhe was, after all, a level three warrior, and his death was a huge blow to the Black Wind Tribe.
"This is the current situation of our tribe," the figure recounted to Tu Quan in detail, leaving nothing out. After a pause, he continued, "Should we start the attack now? Yong, Li, Chu, and many other level-two warriors have already been killed by us. The remaining tribe members are mostly weak fighters. Attacking now shouldn't cause too much damage to the tribe."
Tu said in a strange tone, "You're pretty impressive. It hasn't been long, and you're already using the word 'we'?"
The small, thin figure trembled, wishing he could lie flat on the sand.
He began to tremble all over.
He wanted to say a few words, but fearing to anger this powerful level four warrior, he dared not utter a single word.
Tu kicked him away in disgust, stood up, and said, "Fine, I'll just pretend I didn't hear what you just said."
"I'll discuss the attack on the Red Flower Tribe with the shaman; I don't need you to come up with ideas for me!" Tu cursed.
"So...should I go back to the Red Flower Tribe, or stay here?"
Tu smiled and said, "You can go back if you want, if you're not afraid of dying."
