Chapter 473 Discovery 2

“Then let’s do it your way. I don’t want to go home either. There’s nothing to do at home anyway, so I might as well stay in the mountains.”

Even though I didn't find anything, I still felt better outside. The air was fresh, a gentle breeze was blowing, and I felt relaxed and comfortable.

Therefore, it's better to stay outside.

Zhang Qingguo agreed, "Okay, then we'll change direction this afternoon, so that we'll be out of the woods by evening."

They are in the center now, and they should head outwards.

All three agreed and immediately set to work.

This time, the three of them faced the sun and walked further outside.

After walking for about half an hour, Zhang Qinghua suddenly stopped. "There seems to be some movement ahead."

"Something?" Song Lili asked excitedly. Could it be that they've found the right direction this time? Is there really a small animal?

Zhang Qingguo trusted Zhang Qinghua completely. He knew his elder brother's hearing was better than the average person's, so if Zhang Qinghua said that, then there must be something in front of him.

He stopped as well, moved quietly, and carefully parted the weeds, taking one step at a time to get closer to the source of the sound.

Song Lili stood still, afraid that if the three of them moved together, they would make noise and disturb the good stuff in front of them.

When she was with Zhang Qinghua, she didn't need to pursue him; now that Zhang Qingguo is here, she needs even less.

She just needs to wait.

However, only four or five minutes later, Zhang Qingguo suddenly shouted, "Brother, hurry up and chase them! There are several wild rabbits! Take my slingshot and chase them first!"

Then, I heard the rustling sound of weeds being parted. And the sound of footsteps fading into the distance.

"What's wrong?" Song Lili knew that she had alerted the enemy, so she stopped hiding and ran over quickly.

Zhang Qinghua was holding a slingshot, ready to chase after them. "I found a few wild rabbits, but they got startled and ran away. I'm about to go after them."

They had already mastered the art of using slingshots to hunt wild rabbits while they were starving; otherwise, they would be completely helpless now.

"Oh, then I'll go after them too." Song Lili gripped the straps of her basket tightly, shifted her weight slightly backward, and assumed a running posture.

"You don't need to go, just wait here." Zhang Qinghua quickly grabbed her, worried about her.

"Just let me chase it for a while, it'll make me feel better." Even if she were actually asked to chase a wild rabbit, she wouldn't have the skill to actually hunt one.

So, she just wanted to give it a try. If that silly rabbit accidentally ran into a tree, she could still get a free ride.

"this……"

"Oh, it's okay. I'll just chase after it for a while, I won't go far. I'll come back after I've run for a bit, I won't go far."

Seeing that Zhang Qinghua was softening, Song Lili immediately started to coquettishly shake Zhang Qinghua's arm.

"Alright, be careful." Zhang Qinghua hurriedly said this before darting off, afraid that the rabbit would run too far to catch.

"Yay!" Song Lili cheered and chased after the source of the sound, not noticing that it was the side from which they had just come out.

With no one around, she didn't need to hide her speed; she ran freely, so fast it was almost unbelievable.

Moreover, she felt like she was soaking in a hot spring, with a warm breeze blowing on her body, as if all her pores were open, which was especially comfortable.

She was somewhat fascinated by this feeling.

After running for a while, I finally saw a gray shadow ahead. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was a rabbit.

The rabbit, which had just slowed down, immediately turned around and ran away quickly upon hearing the noise.

Song Lili saw this and thought, "Perfect, I have a target," so she rushed out after her.

And so, a rabbit was running ahead. Song Lili tried her best to chase after it, but she wasn't in a hurry to catch up; she just followed along.

Song Lili felt helpless; she could run fast, but she couldn't stop the rabbit.

She didn't have the skills of the Zhang brothers, who could use slingshots to shoot rabbits; she could only run after them.

It felt like a rabbit was about to run itself to death.

Song Lili felt much better, as if all the pent-up frustration in her heart had been released, and she felt incredibly relaxed and refreshed.

But the rabbit in front was in trouble. It was being chased by Song Lili and changed directions several times, but it still couldn't escape Song Lili's pursuit.

Later, the speed obviously decreased, but they were still desperately trying to escape.

Song Lili suddenly had a feeling of cat playing with mouse, feeling that she was the kind of cat that toyed with the mouse, watching it run away but not catching it.

I tried this game once now, and suddenly I think it's pretty good.

After chasing for about half an hour, Song Lili's strength also declined. She was panting and her face was covered in sweat.

"Whoosh whoosh whoosh," she thought to herself as she chased after it. "Don't underestimate this little rabbit, it can run so fast!"

They've been chasing each other for half an hour, and they can still run so fast; they must be superhuman.

Song Lili hesitated. Should she give up and go back, or continue chasing after them?

Having chased him for so long, giving up would be hard to bear, but not going back would make Zhang Qinghua worry when he returned.

Song Lili was torn between two options. After thinking it over, she decided to stop and give up the chase.

Even if she could catch up, there's nothing she could do.

But just as she was thinking that, she noticed the hare in front of her suddenly turn around and charge towards her.

Song Lili laughed. "Hey, have you gone crazy? You're actually running towards me instead?"

"Do you think I can't do anything to you? So you feel so confident and swagger around in front of me?"

"I have a short temper, and I'm determined to go head-to-head with you. Today, I'm really going to grab you."

Song Lili rolled up her sleeves, furious.

Does this mean even wild rabbits look down on her?

Why did it stop running and start moving backwards?

Is this a case of the prey running away and then coming after the hunter instead? How can that be?

This role cannot be changed.

She deliberately ran towards the hare, intending to catch it by hand, like catching a chicken, using the most basic method.

Anyway, there's no way to resolve this peacefully today.

The next thing that happened left her speechless.

Then the rabbit turned around and ran quickly, as if it were in a panic and didn't know where to go, and with a thud, it crashed headfirst into a tree.

The outcome was obvious: the rabbit either fainted or died from the impact.

Anyway, it just lay on the ground motionless and didn't make a sound.

Song Lili stared wide-eyed at the unbelievable scene unfolding before her eyes, looking as if she thought, "Are you kidding me?"

"This...this is a real-life version of waiting for a rabbit to run into a tree stump? Is it really that exaggerated? Are there really rabbits so stupid that they run into trees on their own?"

"Holy crap, is my mouth blessed? How come everything I say seems to work? And it really did kill me?"

Song Lili was filled with mixed emotions; it all felt unreal. Was this real? Did the rabbit really run into a tree?
