He was referring to Li Qinghua, not saying "You like me".
Zhang Qinghua calmly repeated, "Do you like Li Qinghua?"
"I don't like it, I don't like it, I don't like it." What a joke! That belongs to Grandpa and Grandma; no one can take it away from them.
"What nonsense are you talking about? You should be with Sister Yangmei. I don't like you at all. You belong to Sister Yangmei."
"What did you say?" Zhang Qinghua's face darkened. What did he have to do with Yang Mei? Didn't Yang Mei like Li Qinghua? That was the person his brother liked; would he really try to steal her away?
"Yang Mei is the person Li Qinghua likes, don't you know that?" Zhang Qinghua approached step by step.
Song Lili looked knowing and said, "I know, Sister Yang Mei likes you, so you two will be together in the future."
Zhang Qinghua stopped in his tracks immediately. "What did you say? Yang Mei likes me? Who said that? Did Yang Mei say it herself?"
Could Yang Mei be a fickle person? Was she deceiving her own brother? Thinking this, Zhang Qinghua became even angrier.
Song Lili was unaware that she had caused Zhang Qinghua to misunderstand her even more deeply, not only because he thought she liked Li Qinghua, but also because he thought Yang Mei was a bad person.
"No, Sister Yangmei didn't say anything. I'm just guessing. Do you like her too? Should I play matchmaker for you two? Or create opportunities for you two?"
"No need," Zhang Qinghua replied curtly, her face ashen. She was furious inside. So it was just her guess.
I couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. Thank goodness it wasn't Yang Mei who said it herself, otherwise how cruel would that be to my brother?
"Why don't you need her? Don't you like her?" Song Lili protested. If there's no spark, how will she be born in the future?
"I don't like her," Zhang Qinghua said, becoming even more agitated. "Li Qinghua likes bayberries, did you know that?"
I really want to pry open that skull and see what's inside! The two of them were so obviously separated, how come they didn't notice for so long?
"Really? You really like Sister Yangmei? That's wonderful, wonderful..." Song Lili jumped a few times on the ground and spun around several times.
Zhang Qinghua gritted his teeth and said, "I said it was Li Qinghua who liked bayberries, not me..." He was almost about to yell into Song Lili's ear.
"Aren't you Li Qinghua?" Song Lili said something that made him even more devastated.
"What did you say? You said I'm Li Qinghua?" Zhang Qinghua pointed at himself and asked incredulously. How come he didn't know me?
"Yes, you are Li Qinghua. Didn't you tell me yourself?"
Damn it, when did he ever say he was Li Qinghua? Wait... wait, could it have been that time at the opera stage?

"Otherwise, why do you think I've been actively seeking you out? If it weren't for Sister Yangmei, I wouldn't bother at all!"
Zhang Qinghua's words caught in his throat, and he swallowed them back, looking at her strangely. "So, if Yang Mei and Li Qinghua get together, you won't play with us anymore?"
