Chapter 81

"Oh my, when did Secretary Song become so polite?" Su Yu glanced at him, but didn't see any ulterior motive. "I can't possibly accept this. Secretary Zhou is treating us to dinner today, and he didn't even tell us beforehand. Besides, Dazhi isn't familiar with them."

"Yes, yes, I'll go back for dinner. My family is waiting for me. Sis, I'm going back now." Su Dazhi fled in a panic. He didn't want to eat with this person at all; the last time he glared at him so terribly.

Su Yu: "..." How embarrassing!

Secretary Song asked with a blank expression, "What does your brother mean by this?"

“He’s shy. Honest people are like that.” Su Yu smiled and waved her hand. “Secretary Song, let’s go inside and sit down.”

Secretary Song followed behind, saying, "He's so shy, unlike your brother." Is he really that scary? He was so friendly, inviting someone to dinner, and he just ran away…

The restaurant was nearly empty at the moment; the chef and waiters were chatting in the kitchen. The two of them didn't need to order; they simply found a table and sat down.

Su Yu smiled as she poured hot water. "Secretary Song, what have you been up to lately? It's been a long time."

While drinking water, Secretary Song touched her handbag. "A relative's child is taking the college entrance exam recently, and I'm helping to organize some review materials."

Upon hearing about the college entrance examination, Su Yu's ears perked up.

"What information?"

"It's nothing much, just some key math problems. I compiled them myself based on my previous college entrance exam, and also asked some teachers. That's pretty much all the key points."

Su Yu nodded. The college entrance examination is a big deal. She didn't expect parents to attach so much importance to it in this day and age. It seems to be a fine tradition.

Seeing that Su Yu didn't react, Secretary Song couldn't sit still any longer.

What does this mean? There's no follow-up? We finally got this topic up, how can it just end like this?

"Don't you want to know what the key points are?"

Su Yu said, "There are many important questions; the key is diligent practice. Have your relatives' children do lots of practice problems. Every problem needs to be done multiple times to understand the underlying principles, no matter how varied they are." Back when she was preparing for her college entrance exam, she practically wore out her pen from writing so much. As a result, she never wanted to study math again. Who knew there would be a second college entrance exam?

Secretary Song: "..."

Su Yu smiled and said, "Secretary Song, we're moving on April 1st. Will you be coming to our factory's relocation meeting? You were so concerned about our building construction before, so we sincerely invite you to attend."

"..." Secretary Song's mind was preoccupied with that math notebook. Hearing Su Yu's words, she replied, "Let's do it another time."

"Secretary Song, you need to give us a definite answer, otherwise we'll all be disappointed."

"Take a look at these key question types first to see if they're helpful." Secretary Song finally couldn't hold back any longer and took out her notebook, handing it to Su Yu.

It was a rather thick notebook. Seeing Secretary Song's serious expression, Su Yu quickly took it and flipped through it. Seeing that it contained various types of questions, with several example questions for each type and two or three solutions provided, Su Yu's eyebrows immediately furrowed.

This is much more convenient than looking at the examples in the book.

Such a thick document, and so meticulously prepared—it seems Secretary Song is truly very helpful to his relative.

Oh my, I never knew Secretary Song was this kind of person.

If Secretary Song didn't need this, Su Yu would definitely find a way to borrow it. However, considering that Secretary Song prepared it for someone else's child, Su Yu didn't have that idea. What if the child didn't get into university? Wouldn't she be burdened with the blame for the rest of her life? That's too much of a burden; she couldn't afford to carry it.

So Su Yu flipped through it casually and returned it to Secretary Song. "Secretary Song, this is very well done. I think it's very useful. Have your relative's child do the example problems in this. Even if they don't get high scores, they should at least pass. If they can pass math and don't do too badly in the other subjects, I think they still have a good chance of getting into university."

Secretary Song said dejectedly, "Then take it and look at it."

Su Yu was taken aback. "Huh?"

"This is for you," Secretary Song said sternly. "Mayor Qiu knows you're taking the college entrance exam, so he asked me to help you organize some materials. These are my own college entrance exam study materials from before, not materials I organized for a relative's child."

Su Yu stared wide-eyed at Secretary Song. "Secretary Song, you're not joking, are you?"

"I'm not joking. Mayor Qiu cares a lot about your studies. Keep up the good work." He then placed the notebook next to Su Yu.

Su Yu asked suspiciously, "Then why did you lie to me just now?"

"I was just trying to see if I could fool you, and you actually believed me?!" Secretary Song gasped.

If this woman finds out that he's been so eager to help her, how will he live with himself in the future?
