"We just got on, a few minutes late. It should be taking off soon!" Su Ya said.
"You really don't need me to pick you up."
"No need, there are so many of us. I'll call you after we're settled in," Su Ya said.
"Alright then."
After hanging up the phone, Su Ya put her phone in her bag, and then heard Secretary Liang ask, "You have relatives in Hong Kong?"
"No, my partner works there."
"Oh, from the foreign affairs department." Secretary Liang seemed to suddenly realize.
"No," Su Ya had just said when the senior student suddenly interjected, "He studies at the University of Hong Kong."
Su Ya glanced at her senior brother speechlessly, then angrily put on an eye mask and headphones, crossed her arms, and closed her eyes to rest.
Secretary Liang is a well-traveled person. It's rare to see someone in China wearing an eye mask on an airplane, except for foreigners.
Judging from Su Ya's actions, she is a frequent flyer and comes from a well-off family, possessing an expensive portable music player and a mobile phone. Could an ordinary person or family afford to provide such comforts for someone who flies frequently?
Besides, according to the man, he was still a student.
The fact that students have such good conditions indicates that their families are of a very high social standing.
When I get the chance, I'll find out about his family situation. If he's of a high rank, maybe he can have a shorter life.
You have to understand that in the first D level, it's really hard to climb without some help.
Looking at Suya's appearance, it's captivating; her skin must be made with high-end cosmetics.
Fortunately, the two men next to Su Ya didn't say anything, but Secretary Liang got up and went to the two rows of reserved seats at the back to smoke a cigarette before coming back.
During this period, you could smoke on airplanes and there was free toilet water. Of course, most people drank orange juice and soft drinks.
Suya wasn't interested in airplane food. Even though it was a hamburger, it was just heated up in the oven.
Seeing how much the people around him were enjoying their meal, he probably only appreciated it for a short time.
The plane finally arrived in Hong Kong. After queuing to exit the airport, they boarded the bus provided by the organizers and arrived at the hotel. Only then did Su Ya realize that she was to stay in a triple room with other female staff from other units.
The hotel was called Best, a three-star hotel, and geographically very close to the University of Hong Kong. Looking around, Su Ya roughly knew its location; it was also very close to home.
After checking in, Su Ya greeted her roommates but before she could even introduce herself, she called Xing Baohua.
About half an hour later, Xing Baohua was waiting for her to come out of the hotel.
After saying hello to Professor Meng, Su Ya left with Xing Baohua. She didn't know her roommates and didn't say she wouldn't be back that night. However, when her roommates found that Su Ya had gone out and hadn't returned, they were quite frightened and quickly reported it to the authorities.
These days, going out without reporting your whereabouts or failing to return on time is a very serious matter.
Every single leader in charge of the team will be implicated.
This is a bit strange about Professor Meng. He was chatting with some friends and forgot about it. When asked, he said that Su Ya had already asked him for leave.
The disciplinary error was significant, and Professor Meng received a warning. As for Su Ya's issue, their college will handle it themselves, and the results will be reported to the organizing committee later.
Furthermore, Su Ya was notified to return to the team promptly, and that they should see her no matter how late it was.
If we cannot contact them, the latest time to return to the team is set for 8:00 AM tomorrow. If they still haven't returned by then, the consequences will be quite serious.
Professor Meng was careless. To be honest, if he didn't know who Su Ya's boyfriend was, he would have reminded her that after knowing who Xing Baohua was, it was perfectly normal for them to want to live together as a couple.
As a result, when encountering someone who takes things too seriously, it's not right for anyone to take it too seriously; it's the right thing to be stricter on discipline issues within a large team.
Besides, how many times have they used overseas visits as an excuse to make a trip?
Xing Baohua had no idea what evil had befallen her!
Whenever something good happens, the phone always rings. I'm so focused on getting busy, and then I get startled and annoyed, so I can't concentrate on continuing.
Su Ya pointed in the direction of her bag, and Xing Baohua thought she was talking about his phone, so he said, "Never mind, it'll stop ringing after a while."
"It...it...looks like...it's...mine," Suya said breathlessly.
"Never mind that, we drove over two thousand kilometers just for these ten minutes of happiness, right? Give me a few more minutes..."
He lost focus for a second, and he messed up. Xing Baohua was furious! He knew he'd be ruined by this damn phone sooner or later.
He patted Suya and told her to get up and answer the phone; he needed to calm himself down for a while.
Su Ya received a call from Professor Meng and realized that things had gone a bit too far.
She quickly got dressed and explained the situation to Xing Baohua, saying that she couldn't stay there tonight and had to go back.
"You didn't ask for leave when you came!" Xing Baohua asked in a disgruntled tone.
"I told Professor Meng, but he was probably too busy to remember, which led to this incident. I'll explain it to the higher-ups," Su Ya said after getting dressed.
"I'll take you there. If not, I'll explain the situation to your unit's leaders." Xing Baohua also looked for clothes to wear.
"No need, I'll call you tomorrow, and you can have the driver take me there."
When Su Ya returned to the hotel, Professor Meng was still waiting for her in the lobby. He was relieved to see her back.
He quickly apologized, saying that he had been oversighty and had caused some trouble for everyone.
What could Su Ya say? She could only say it was nothing and that she had caused Professor Meng trouble.
He went to apologize to the group leader, but was also severely criticized.
They didn't listen to any explanations, made us write test results and issued a group-wide reprimand. The final decision will have to be made by the University of International Business and Economics.
Suya returned to the dormitory. Although the lights were off, her two roommates were still awake and didn't say anything.
You can't blame the two for reporting this; anyone would have done the same. Suya had no choice but to go to bed and rest.
