Chapter 49 is always a bunch of boring meetings.

Since becoming the director, there have been more and more meetings.

Some meetings had absolutely nothing to do with the Fifth Workshop or Xing Baohua himself, yet he was still notified to attend. When he arrived at the meeting, he found it was none of his business and couldn't leave even if he wanted to.

Hou Liwei notified him to come to a meeting, which I estimate will be quite significant.

After giving Liu Quan a few instructions, he went to the office building. Upon arriving at the office, he learned that the meeting was in a small conference room. In other words, the supervisors were having a small-scale meeting.

There's still some time before the meeting starts, so let's go to Suya's office first.

When Su Ya saw him come in, she said, "There's a meeting in a bit, I'll go and take notes too."

“I know, there’s still some time, isn’t there?” Xing Baohua said to Su Ya, sitting in Liu Juanjuan’s seat.

"I need to go get ready first. You didn't bring a notebook or pen! How can you hold a meeting like this? I have a new notebook and pen in my drawer, you can use those for now." Su Ya said, opening the drawer to get them for him.

Xing Baohua suddenly remembered something and asked her, "Do you know how to sew clothes or do any needlework?"

"What are you doing? Where are you torn and need mending?" Su Ya took out a notebook and pen and put them on the table, then looked at Xing Baohua's clothes.

"Nothing, just asking," Xing Baohua said casually.

"Actually, I'm not very good at it," Su Ya said, lowering her head shyly. Then she secretly looked up at him again.

Xing Baohua also said with a smile, "It's okay, I'll buy a sewing machine later, you can learn at home. Also, how's your homework review going? I haven't seen you ask me any questions."

"I'm studying Chinese now, and I haven't encountered any problems yet. I'll just memorize more. If I really run into difficult math or physics problems, I'll come to you for help," Su Ya said, picking up her notebook again and preparing to leave.

Xing Baohua said, "I'll go first."

Turning to see her walk to the door, I casually asked, "It's been a long time since I've seen Liu Juanjuan. Where have you been?"

"I was here an hour ago. I don't know where I went," Su Ya said before disappearing through the door.

Xing Baohua muttered to himself, "He's just like Xu Shuai, he can't even be serious at work."

After waiting a short while and checking the time on the wall, Xing Baohua went to the small conference room.

Su Ya was pouring water into the teacups on the conference table. Xing Baohua walked to the very end of the conference table and found a place to sit down.

There was no way around it; everyone who could come to this meeting was older than him, and even Xing Baohua, who was at the same level, had to call him "uncle."

Then the workshop foremen came over one after another, greeting each other. Xing Baohua also saw his father. The two exchanged a glance, and Xing's father gave him a stern look. Xing Baohua didn't dare to say a word in response.

Finally, the factory director and the party secretary came in.

After the meeting had been going on for a while, Xing Baohua realized that it was a security-related meeting.

This meeting was somewhat related to Xing Baohua. The factory director repeatedly mentioned at the meeting that the fifth workshop needed to prepare for safe production.

After the meeting, the factory manager asked Xing Baohua to stay behind.

When it was just the two of them in the small conference room, the factory manager asked, "How's the equipment debugging going? Old Shen said the materials and labor will arrive next week."

Xing Baohua said, "The debugging will be completed tomorrow, and we can start testing once the chips arrive. With the training of our employees, we can start production at the beginning of next month."

The factory manager nodded and said, "Okay, then let's start production on July 1st."

Xing Baohua felt the timeframe was a bit tight, but the factory manager had already set a date. There wasn't much he could say.

So he asked, "After the product goes live, I'd like to set up a quality inspection department to specifically test the product's pass rate. And it has to be a strict inspection, because this batch of goods is for export, and we can't afford to be careless at all."

Factory Director Li nodded and said, "Okay, I understand. I will arrange for people to be drawn from the fifth workshop if needed."

"That's not a good idea. We're all very familiar with each other now. I'm afraid they might go easy on us," Xing Baohua said, still a little worried.

"The personnel in Workshop 5 are a bit complicated, and it's not really appropriate to send anyone there unless we send a deputy factory director. Do you think that's possible? Workshop 5 is the youngest workshop in the factory, and also the most controversial. If a deputy factory director goes there to oversee things, what will they think? Will they say that none of you young leaders are capable?" Factory Director Li said.

At this point, Xing Baohua stopped talking, realizing that the factory director's words made sense.

How many eyes are watching Workshop Five? There's no room for carelessness; even a small mistake can be used against them. The only thing that matters is the product. Selling the product, making a fortune, is the only way to silence everyone and prove Director Li's vision and decisions.

“I’m planning to have Hou Liwei take on the quality inspection work as well,” Factory Director Li suddenly said.

"Ah! Is he capable?" Xing Baohua was surprised and somewhat skeptical when she heard that Director Li had found someone.

“It seems like you two have some disagreements. At first, I wanted you two to work together as a team. But now it seems he's dissatisfied with you in some ways. This kind of conflict is good, at least he can rigorously inspect the products you produce. Finding problems in conflicts is also a way of being responsible for the product, isn't it?” Factory Director Li said.

Xing Baohua frowned. What Director Li said was both right and wrong.

That's somewhat of a fallacy; the conflict between him and Hou Liwei shouldn't involve their work!

Furthermore, if Hou Liwei is indeed viewing the product with prejudice, then it's simply because of personal bias. The product belongs to the factory, not him, so even if there are mistakes, they shouldn't be directed at him.

Initially, due to Xing Baohua's influence, the products underwent strict quality checks, which gradually led to overly stringent requirements and delayed production.

"Factory manager, I'm afraid Hou Liwei might use his position for personal revenge! It could delay our production!" Xing Baohua warned.
