Chapter 778 Escape

The second plan that Xing Baohua mentioned before he fell into a coma had already been activated when he was shot.

Whenever he goes out, he has two plans to deal with emergencies.

The same thing happened when we came to Russia. Due to a shortage of manpower, we called Andreev before we arrived and asked him to find someone to meet us.

The plan for the second day is for emergencies and there should be no major danger.

But it's a matter of probability, and there's nothing you can do if you encounter it. If there's a one percent chance you're that one, what can you do?

Even remote and strategically important areas have emergency response units, so Andreev's connections could only be with people at the airbase.

The paratroopers hired for 30,000 rubles amounted to a small team of only a dozen or so people. Their sole responsibility was to rush to the aid of the target if they requested assistance in case of danger.

If there are no support missions, you get 30,000 rubles for free. If there are missions, you get even more money.

When they received the distress signal, the paratrooper squad leader felt that a money-making opportunity had arrived.

Everyone is short of money, so they can't miss any opportunity to make money. We've seen those guys in the higher-ups reselling equipment, but these greenhorns don't have a chance to sell. Their only chance is their lives.

The squad leader coordinated with the base's helicopter squad, and they agreed that they would use up as much equipment as possible on this mission so they could earn money.

That's what it means to be armed to the teeth. These guys are the real deal.

The two Mi-8 helicopters can not only carry external Hive bombs, but each can also carry 6 team members.

The 12 team members then headed to their destination.

Upon arrival, we immediately saw intense firepower on the ground, and it was a one-sided attack.

The Mi-8's external Hives were almost entirely aimed at the area with the most concentrated firepower. The airborne team members rappelled directly into the club's villa area.

The first team had just rappelled down a few people when they fell straight down.

They were targeted by a sniper. Seeing that they couldn't rappel down, the others began providing aerial fire to suppress the enemy's attack.

The airborne heavy firepower spewed out flames, which did suppress the enemy for a period of time, but it did not pose much of a threat to the sniper's hiding position.

The paratrooper squad leader was shocked to find that they had already lost three skilled soldiers before even landing.

What to do? What can we do but call for backup!

They also hope to hold on until reinforcements arrive.

The Mi-8 found a suitable landing spot and landed, allowing the paratroopers to disembark.

But shortly after the personnel left, someone shouted, "RPG!"

The words had barely left his mouth when the surrounding paratroopers dropped to the ground with lightning speed. One of them glanced up briefly and saw a rocket carrying a string of leftover stock hurtling towards their Mi-8s.

Boom! Sparks flew everywhere as the Mi 8 exploded.

The explosion also injured two paratroopers, leaving only one able-bodied member of the squad.

There was still a Mi-8 in the sky; landing was impossible, so it could only circle around the perimeter, occasionally providing suppressive fire.

The paratrooper squad leader was also on this Mi-8, and he regretted not bringing enough men.

The reinforcements haven't even arrived yet, and we've already lost five key players.

While observing the ground situation through binoculars, I immediately discovered that the firepower of their support positions was very weak, consisting mainly of shotguns and single-shot weapons.

No wonder we were suppressed by enemy firepower; it turns out we didn't have any automatic weapons!

Tell the pilots to fly over and drop some down for them.

They just threw a few AKs down without worrying about them breaking.

"Little bird, little bird, has the target been shot down?"

"Not sure, but he was definitely hit," the sniper replied.

The arrival of the Russian helicopters indicates that support has been provided, and continuing the fight would clearly be bad for these outsiders.

Once the target is eliminated, their mission is complete; there's no need to turn special operations into positional warfare.

The commander thought for a moment and said, "Take turns retreating."

But the sniper was the last to leave, and no one knew where he was hiding, but he could see the whole scene.

The fact that the enemy's firepower has decreased indicates that they are not being suppressed, but rather retreating.

The Mi-8 also landed, not rushing to pursue the attackers, but heading towards the target location it was supposed to support.

The guards knew that Xing Baohua was not seriously injured; he had just fainted from the pain. Despite the large caliber and strong kinetic energy of the enemy's bullet, it had already passed through several obstacles by the time it reached Xing Baohua, and its kinetic energy was almost completely depleted.

Xing Baohua was carried onto the 8-meter-high platform.

The snipers who stayed behind felt that their target was still alive.

I glanced at the AT4 next to me and waited for the Mi 8 to take off.

The Mi-8 flew towards the hospital at their base, directly behind the sniper.

The sniper had great patience. He silently counted the height and distance in his mind, then shouldered the AT4 and flew away with a whoosh, leaving a trail of flame in the air.

Because the Mi-8 could only carry a limited number of people, the paratrooper squad leader gave up a few empty seats and stayed behind, while the person in charge and his men took the Mi-8 to the hospital.

The paratroopers left on the ground began to rescue their teammates. After checking on them, they found one who was still able to move, but the others were all dead, including the two pilots.

Suddenly, a whoosh was heard, and the squad leader saw the direction, his spirits plummeting.

Having earned this much extra money, there's not much left to say. Even if he survives, he might not be able to spend all the money he's made.

The internal investigation alone could kill him. Now he has no choice but to take a gamble. If he can kill or capture the attacker alive, there might still be a chance.

Without thinking too much, I led my men and headed towards the plume of smoke.

The Mi-8 in the air fired a flare, but it was useless; the AT-4 still hit its tail fin.

The Mi-8, having lost its tail rotor, kept spinning in the air and, despite the pilot's efforts to control it, it still crashed.

Fortunately, the fall was not a straight drop, but a slow, forced descent.
