Yuan Fangtai took out a seal from his pocket as if by magic, and then poked it.
Yuan Fangguo picked up the letter and couldn't help grinning.
“Conscripts are free.”
In the army, conscripts can enjoy free mail delivery. As long as they have this stamp, the post office will deliver the letters to any place.
"You are still the best." Yuan Fangguo couldn't help but say.
"Next time you write to me, tell me that this thing is public property. It's a waste not to use it if it's free." Yuan Fangtai quickly put the seal away and picked up the letter on the table.
Watching his second brother go into the post office to handle business, Yuan Fangguo stood alone on the street, looking at the people coming and going.
Suddenly, Yuan Fangguo felt someone patting his shoulder gently, and then a woman's voice came over.
"Here you are, hero."
Yuan Fangguo was startled and looked at the woman in front of him in confusion.
"You forgot, I took a bus with you from Dabei County to Rongcheng. When we were in the mountains, we encountered a group of robbers, and it was you who subdued the bald guy." The woman chuckled.
Yuan Fangguo finally understood. No wonder he always felt that the woman in front of him looked familiar.
"I remember, fellow villager." Yuan Fangguo said with a smile.
"Do you work here?" the woman asked with a smile.
Yuan Fangguo shook his head. "I'm still a student. My brother happened to come over today, so I accompanied him to do some things."
"A college student, right?" the woman said with a smile.
"Yes, from Bashu University." Yuan Fangguo nodded.
"What a coincidence! My shop is nearby." The woman said in surprise.
"No way." Yuan Fangguo was surprised.
"Of course I do. I run a stationery store there called Wenquxing Stationery Store. Come and visit us when you have time." The woman said enthusiastically.
Yuan Fangguo nodded and said, "Okay, I'll definitely come over and visit when I have time."
"It's not far from your school. By the way, what's your name?" the woman couldn't help but ask.
"My name is Yuan Fangguo." Yuan Fangguo said with a smile.
"My name is Li Chunli. I'm older than you. You can just call me Sister Li. We are from the same hometown. Please introduce more business to me in the future." Li Chunli said jokingly.
"No problem, as long as my classmates need it, I will introduce them to them."
"I also have some toys, the kind specially for girls. I'll give them to you at wholesale price." Li Chunli said jokingly.
Yuan Fangguo found himself smiling innocently, "I don't have a girlfriend yet."
"It's okay. You college students will have girlfriends soon. You are not bad looking, so you will definitely not lack girlfriends." Li Chunli said with a smile.
After chatting with Yuan Fangguo for a while, Li Chunli left.
Before leaving, she did not forget to greet Yuan Fangguo warmly and asked him to come over and sit with her when he had time.
Less than a minute after she left, her second brother came out carrying a large bundle of books, magazines and letters.
"There are many letters from new recruits and many illnesses from old soldiers. I was a city soldier of the same year, and I always received a letter from him," said Yuan Fangtai.
"Maybe it was written by someone's girlfriend." Yuan Fangguo said with a smile.
"It should be." Yuan Fangtai threw the pile of books and magazines into the compartment of the sidecar, clapped his hands, and took out a cigarette.
"Take a break. When I finish my cigarette, I'll take you to the scrap collection station to have a look. I know quite a few." Yuan Fangtai said as he puffed away with a look of enjoyment.
The two brothers always had endless topics to talk about, and somehow they ended up talking about Widow Li.
When it comes to Widow Li, Yuan Fangtai's face is full of gnashing teeth.
"Brother, do you know the kittens born by the big cat in our family?" Yuan Fangtai asked.
Yuan Fangguo nodded, "I know."
"Widow Li was beaten to death. I once saw her body in the bamboo forest behind her house." Yuan Fangtai was furious.
"Isn't this enough to explain it?" Yuan Fangguo frowned. He didn't quite believe that a rural woman could have a problem with a cat.
"That alone certainly doesn't prove anything, but I heard it clearly a few days ago: Widow Li was chasing something in the yard and hitting it, cursing as she did so. At the time, I thought she was hitting a mouse and didn't pay much attention. Now, isn't she hitting the cat?"
"Widow Li is just like that. Otherwise, how could her man be killed?" Yuan Fangguo got a little angry when he thought of his grandmother Widow Li's indirect criticism. He originally wanted to tell his second brother, but after thinking about it, he suppressed his anger.
"What a rotten bitch." Yuan Fangtai said as he threw the cigarette butt fiercely under his feet and then stepped on it. It looked as if Widow Li was being stepped on by him.
In the morning, Yuan Fangtai took Yuan Fangguo to three scrap collection stations. The books there were indeed sold by the kilogram, and Yuan Fangguo bought quite a few at once, filling two large bags with about a hundred books.
It was almost noon when they finally returned to the school gate.
The school guard naturally would not allow Yuan Fangtai's military sidecar to enter, even though he was a member of the People's Liberation Army.
"Uncle, I'll leave these two big bags of books with you for the time being." Yuan Fangguo took out a pack of cigarettes and gave the guard another Hongtashan cigarette.
"No problem." The guard was very happy.
Yuan Fangguo treated his second brother to lunch. He asked him to sit down in a small restaurant outside and ordered a serving of steamed pork ribs with rice flour, a serving of braised pork, and a stir-fried pork with rice.
