Yu Hui composed herself, a worried look on her face, and said softly, "But our daughter is still at home. It's not good to leave her alone at home!" Her voice was full of concern for her daughter. Involuntarily, the image of her daughter's cute and dependent appearance appeared in her mind. Imagining her daughter alone at home, with the helpless look in her eyes when she couldn't find her mother, her heart ached.
Wang Hu waved his hand dismissively and said with great certainty, "We'll be back in a few days. Aren't the women at home good enough to take care of her? Besides, we have a nanny!" He felt that with so many people taking care of her, his daughter would definitely be fine. This opportunity to bring Yu Hui home to meet his parents was a rare one, and he couldn't let it slip away because of this little thing.
Yu Hui was still a little scared. She bit her lip, her brows furrowed tightly, and her eyes revealed deep worry: "But will your parents like me? What if they look down on me because I've been married before and have a child?"
Her voice trailed off as she spoke, filled with insecurity. After all, she had been married before and had a child. She worried that Wang Hu's parents would be prejudiced against her and wouldn't accept her as a member of their family.
Wang Hu grabbed Yu Hui's hand, looked deeply into her eyes, and said earnestly, "My parents will definitely like you! You're so beautiful and gentle! Everyone would like you!" His eyes were full of love and determination, hoping to give Yu Hui enough confidence.
Yu Hui wanted to say something, but before she could say it, she found that Wang Hu had already driven to the airport at breakneck speed.
Wang Hu quickly parked the car, pulled Yu Hui out, and looked so eager that it seemed as if they would miss something important if they were a second late. The two headed straight for the ticket office, and Wang Hu strode along while muttering, "Let's buy the tickets quickly and get home as soon as possible."
There's no need to worry about not having tickets at all. First class and business class, those relatively high-end cabins, are definitely not sold out. Wang Hu successfully bought two tickets and pulled Yu Hui towards the boarding gate.
After boarding the plane, Yu Hui's heart pounded wildly, as if a little rabbit was running rampant in her chest.
She sat in her seat, her hands tightly gripping the hem of her clothes, her eyes glancing out the window every now and then. The clouds outside moved quickly past, but she had no interest in appreciating the scenery.
The scene of meeting Wang Hu's parents kept flashing through her mind. She kept thinking about what to say and do when they met. A feeling of tension and unease enveloped her like a tide.
In this seemingly peaceful little village, Wang Hu's home was in complete chaos, a veritable pandemonium. For the past two days, Wang Hu's uncle and third uncle had been locked in a fierce argument, like they were on fire.
They were red-faced and arguing, spitting as they spoke, and the root of their argument was ultimately about money.
Just as things were in such chaos at home, Wang Hu's parents suddenly received a call from him. On the other end of the line, Wang Hu sounded exceptionally excited, shouting, "Dad, Mom, I'm bringing my wife home!"
Wang Hu then recounted Yu Hui's situation in detail. He described Yu Hui's appearance, personality, and some of her habits in great detail.
When Wang Hu's mother, Feng Fenfen, heard that Yu Hui was a divorced woman, her brows furrowed instantly, and a hint of reluctance appeared on her face. In her traditional view, it was not a respectable thing for her son to marry a divorced woman.
Wang Hu seemed to sense his mother's dissatisfaction, so he quickly recounted in detail how he met Yu Hui.
After hearing Wang Hu's story, Feng Fenfen not only didn't change her mind, but disliked Yu Hui even more. She secretly pondered that her son seemed to be flirting with the young women in the village, and now it seemed the root of the problem might be Yu Hui. She believed Yu Hui must have used some tricks to bewitch her naive son.
Although she was a hundred times unwilling, her son liked it, and she really couldn't do anything about it. Her son even brought Yu Hui back with him, which made it even harder for her to directly object. She opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but swallowed the words back.
Wang Hu didn't hear his mother's reply, knowing she was still struggling with the decision. So he gritted his teeth and said loudly, "Mom, you're about to become a grandma! It'll be too late for you to back out!" These words exploded in Feng Fenfen's heart like a bombshell. Her eyes widened, and she stared at the phone in shock, speechless for a long time.
Now that things had come to this, even if she disliked Yu Hui, she had no choice but to accept her as her daughter-in-law. She sighed helplessly, thinking to herself that this was all fate, and she could only accept reality.
Fortunately, Wang Hu made the call behind Yu Hui's back; otherwise, if Yu Hui had heard how much her mother-in-law disliked her, she would have been even more unwilling to go back with him.
