After exiting the side hall, Physician Zhou and Li Zhuo bowed to each other and then went back into the hall. They found that Master Wuye was no longer there, but Little Fatty and Duozi had arrived instead, whom they had not seen earlier.
"Young master, princess." The two bowed.
Zhao Shu glanced around; Xiao Guozi was nowhere to be seen. She became secretly wary. Huo Baichuan, seeing her nervous little face, couldn't help but smirk, "Princess, guess how much silver I could get if I sold you?"
"Sir, are you short of money?" He said this, and Zhao Shu was no longer afraid. She looked up and met his gaze. Oh, Huo Baichuan is too tall. Her neck hurts. She needs to grow taller quickly!
"Who complains about having too much silver?" He finished speaking with a mysterious smile, then gestured to Duozi. Instantly, Zhao Shu felt a flash before her eyes, and she was lifted into the air. When she woke up, she was already being carried by Duozi over the glazed tile walls, while the Pengcheng soldiers patrolling below did not notice at all.
Huo Baichuan sat in a chair, with the chubby boy supporting the chair with one hand, walking side by side with Zhao Shuping. "Princess, are you alright?"
"Mr. Huo, it's broad daylight, don't frighten people. And why do you have a chair while I, the princess, don't?" Zhao Shu pulled her cloak to cover her face, the biting cold wind was no joke.
Xiao Guozi, who was chasing from behind, was having a hard time, but Han Ying was having an even harder time. He was a suicide soldier and couldn't be seen in the light of day, so he had to hide and avoid the light of day.
Several people chased each other and soon left the palace. Inside Peng Rui's temporary office outside the palace, he had just brewed a pot of Longjing tea. Opposite him was Yang Quan, who stood ramrod straight, unmoved by words or pressure, neither corrupted by wealth nor subdued by power.
His gaze passed over Yang Quan and saw several figures passing by the open window. He instantly rushed out, knocking Yang Quan around several times.
When he chased after him and found it was Huo Baichuan, he kicked a tree by the roadside hard, and with a whoosh, snow fell all over him. His subordinates saw him suddenly run out and hurried over with their guns, "General."
"Those who aren't dead, get to training! Now! Immediately!" He whirled around. Lone Wolf's dead eyes were fixed on his subordinate. The centurion was startled by his roar, but he quickly forgot his fear because Peng Rui's words made him want to die. Training!
The soldiers under the young general's command trained differently from others, with ten times the intensity—a process they collectively called "purgatory-style training"! He wasn't afraid of the training, but he had just finished training yesterday, and was supposed to have three days off…
The culprit that caused the centurion such heartache soon arrived at an extremely quiet courtyard. Zhao Shu was put down by Duo Zi and curiously looked around at the furnishings. The courtyard was not large, about thirty square meters. Apart from a few potted plants and stone tables and benches, there was nothing else in the courtyard. Moreover, the snow in the courtyard had not been cleared by anyone, and it crunched when stepped on.
With a "creak," the door opened. Looking in the direction of the sound, Zhao Shu saw a man in his thirties, dressed in a tea-white robe. He was tall and slender, with a handsome and well-proportioned face that gave him a very comfortable and non-threatening appearance.
Upon seeing Huo Baichuan and his group, the man smiled gently and said, "Baichuan is here. And who is this young lady?"
Huo Baichuan gestured for Zhao Shu to follow, then went into the house. "Teacher, you don't even have a brazier here. What will happen to our eldest princess if she gets cold?" These words seemed to express dissatisfaction with the lack of a brazier, but they also revealed Zhao Shu's background and identity.
Upon hearing this, Zhao Shu looked up at the man. So young, yet he was Huo Baichuan's teacher? In her previous life, she had never heard of Huo Baichuan having a teacher. She had always thought that scions of noble families did not need teachers, because her own family would produce many famous scholars and Confucian masters.
"Sir." Little Fatty and Duozi bowed, then exchanged a glance, leaped onto the roof, and stepped onto the snow-covered mud tiles. They nodded to each other and then ran off in different directions.
Xiao Guozi was chasing anxiously when Duozi suddenly appeared in front of him and started fighting without saying a word. Xiao Guozi quickly fought back, and the two fought fiercely.
On the other side, Little Fatty blocked the alleyway, "Friend, come out, I know you're here."
Han Ying emerged from behind a pile of poles, his entire body shrouded in black cloth, only his eyes visible. He didn't speak, but drew his sword and aimed it straight at Xiao Pang's face. The two exchanged blows in the dark alley, neither showing any mercy.
At this moment, Zhao Shu curtsied to the man and said, "Greetings, sir."
"Your Highness is too kind to this old man," he said lightly, then walked out of the house, across the small courtyard, and disappeared.
Huo Baichuan poured two cups of tea and gestured for Zhao Shu to sit down. "He's just like that, a bit strange. Don't mind him. Come, have a taste of this plum blossom tea. Ninth Sister's skills are still as good as ever." After saying that, he called out loudly, "Ninth Sister, Ninth Sister, the guests have arrived, why don't you come out and greet them?"
Zhao Shu looked at him with disdain. How could he be so boisterous as a guest in someone else's home? Suddenly, a loud "bang" startled her. She turned to see a pretty woman leaning against the window frame. "Calling back the soul!" she cried, giving Huo Baichuan a fierce glare before grinning at Zhao Shu. "Little girl, Ninth Sister has the 'Heart-wrenching Ecstasy,' 'Rebirth from the Ashes,' and 'Heaven on Earth' styles. Which one do you want?"
"Huh?" Zhao Shu couldn't understand a single word.
Seeing her bewildered expression, Huo Baichuan stepped in to smooth things over, "She's young, so give her a 'Heart-Piercing Delight,' and I'll have a 'Heaven on Earth.'"
Jiu Niang flicked her hand, smiled at Zhao Shu again, and then said coldly to Huo Baichuan, "You don't."
"Ninth Sister, you can't do this! At least give me a taste of pure bliss!" Huo Baichuan protested, but to no avail. Ninth Sister flicked her sleeves and swayed her waist, walking away with an air of graceful charm.
Zhao Shu looked at Huo Baichuan with amusement, and he awkwardly tried to change the subject, "If it weren't for my teacher's sake, how could I let her bully me like this?"
