"Ah—help!"
Suddenly, a heart-wrenching cry for help came from afar, its echo piercing the air and sending shivers down the spines of everyone present. The students stood up in alarm, staring in the direction of the cry, a sense of foreboding instantly enveloping them.
"Who is that? Who is it?"
“That’s Liang Jinfeng’s voice,” another student said, his face showing fear.
"Didn't Liang Jinfeng leave with Jin Wu and the others this afternoon? What happened?"
Ling Moyuan frowned. His intuition had never been wrong; sure enough, something had happened.
Although they signed an agreement that would allow him to leave them alone, they were still people he had brought out.
"Everyone gather together, don't wander off, and light the bonfires to their maximum." Ling Moyuan uttered these words and then quickly ran towards the source of the voice, disappearing into the night in the blink of an eye.
Mo Jing watched Ling Moyuan disappear into the night, her dark eyes filled with doubt.
What danger could have caused Liang Jinfeng to scream so pitifully? Logically speaking, although the Black Forest was dangerous, there shouldn't be any problems as long as everyone stayed inside. Otherwise, the parents and teachers wouldn't have agreed to the students' suggestion.
...
Jin Wu, Luo Bin, and Wang Meimei hid under a tree, using the surrounding weeds to cover themselves. They were trembling all over, and Wang Meimei even covered her mouth tightly to prevent any sobs from escaping. Tears streamed down her face.
That's terrifying! That person is terrifying! In the blink of an eye, two of the six people in their group were killed, and Liang Jinfeng was captured by him. Now, she's probably in grave danger.
George held a scalpel in his hand, its faint gleam gleaming in the moonlight. His dirty face wore a sinister and eerie smile. "Little ones, it's time to come out. Come out, all of you. I won't hurt you."
Wang Meimei tightly covered her mouth, even afraid of making a sound, and bit her already bloodless lips.
As George's footsteps drew ever closer, each step felt like death itself beckoning them, terrifying beyond measure. A cool breeze blew by, and they smelled the stench of blood on George—the blood of their classmate.
They now deeply regret their decision. They should never have left alone to play. If they had listened to Ling Moyuan, they wouldn't be in this situation.
Jin Wu, in particular, had just saved Liang Jinfeng when George slashed his arm with a scalpel. Having never suffered a bit of pain in his life, he bit his lower lip tightly, enduring the pain. His face turned pale as he lost blood, and he felt dizzy, as if he might collapse at any moment.
George walked towards them step by step, then passed by them.
Just as Jin Wu and the others were rejoicing that they hadn't been discovered by the other party.
George suddenly turned around and gave them a sinister smile: "Ha, I found you. You've been naughty, hiding away. Naughty children get killed."
The deep blue eyes shimmered in the moonlight, causing the crowd to scream in delight.
"No, please don't kill us, please." Wang Meimei was, after all, a girl, and her first reaction to this situation was to beg for mercy.

You might think this part in the Black Forest is unrelated to the main story's revenge plot. However, it actually has a significant impact on later developments; the story doesn't insert itself without reason. What seems useless to you now is often the groundwork for future developments.
