Han Mo waited quietly for the garbage truck to leave. She was very interested in the bag of trash that had been thrown down, but unfortunately, it had already been disposed of by the garbage collector.
The garbage truck slowly disappeared around the corner of the alley. Han Mo glanced at the light on in the house, then surveyed her surroundings before finally entering the apartment building. Han Mo climbed the stairs one step at a time, not fully aware of what had happened inside. But judging from the reactions of the three men, Xu Xiaolin was probably…
Finally, Han Mo stood at the front door of her house. She glanced at the tightly closed door, then quickly took out her key and opened it. The door creaked open a crack. Han Mo gently pushed the door open, and then heard a click.
Han Mo increased the pressure on her hand and pushed the door frame again. However, the door frame only cracked open a small gap before it wouldn't open any further. Han Mo frowned, knowing that someone had locked the chain on the inside of the door. And who was that person? Without a doubt, only Xu Xiaolin, who was still inside the house, remained.
The front door faced Han Mo's living room. Just as Han Mo was frowning, her gaze happened to fall on Xu Xiaolin, who was lying on the sofa. Han Mo's heart clenched, because at that moment, she noticed that Xu Xiaolin's eyes were also fixed on her face.
The two sisters locked eyes, and in that instant, everything else seemed to vanish. Han Mo and Xu Xiaolin simply looked at each other quietly, without uttering a word. In truth, everything had only lasted a mere ten seconds.
Han Mo saw the bloodstains on Xu Xiaolin's body, her pale face, and sensed her impending death. Yet, in the end, Han Mo still surrendered her soul to the devil.
Xu Xiaolin slightly raised her hand, seemingly pleading with Han Mo for help, but more like bidding her farewell. Finally, with a soft click of the door closing, everything came to an end. The only thing Han Mo could never forget was the faint smile on Han Mo's face as the door closed.
"So, that's the whole story of the 'Han Mo' case." Han Mo looked up at Wang Shen again. Unexpectedly, after revealing the truth, the resentful and solemn expression on Han Mo's face suddenly softened.
After hearing the whole story, Wang Shen and Liang Zichen both fell into a brief silence. After a while, Wang Shen sighed softly and looked at Han Mo, saying, "So, Xu Xiaolin created that secret room all by herself?"
Han Mo smiled and replied, "Otherwise, who else could create such a sealed space besides the person inside?" It turned out that the creator of the locked room was not the murderer, but the victim himself.
"Why did Xu Xiaolin do this?" Wang Shen continued to ask.
Han Mo smiled again. "I didn't understand this problem at first either. It wasn't until later, after carefully reading her diary, that I finally understood the reason. My sister is such a foolish woman. She could do this much for the man she loved, even though that man was the one who took her life."
"You mean, because Xu Xiaolin deeply loved Lin Su, even knowing that Lin Su was the one who killed her, she didn't harbor resentment. Instead, she wanted to protect Lin Su, so she built the house into a secret room?" Thinking this, Wang Shen finally understood why he had found bloodstains on the windowsill. Those bloodstains must have been left by Xu Xiaolin. And that bag of trash must have been Xu Xiaolin's last effort to clean up the things Lin Su had left in Han Mo's room before she died.
Love? The word suddenly popped into Wang Shen's mind. However, Wang Shen's expression suddenly became more serious, and he looked at Han Mo and said, "No, Lin Su didn't take Xu Xiaolin's life, but Han Mo's."
Hearing Wang Shen's words, Han Mo was not angry at all. Instead, she smiled slightly and said, "That's right. Lin Su has always wanted to take Han Mo's life."
"So, that's why you ultimately refused to help Xu Xiaolin when she was in danger, right? Jealousy made you lose yourself."
After listening to Wang Shen's words, Han Mo didn't respond, but simply nodded in agreement. After a while, Han Mo spoke up, "In previous years, I always thought that my hatred for them would never be resolved in this lifetime. But unexpectedly, after I revealed these secrets, I suddenly had a change of heart."
Upon hearing Xu Xiaolin's words, Liang Zichen seemed somewhat agitated and shouted at her, "Your simple statement of 'letting go' has cost so many people their entire lives."
Wang Shen waved to Liang Zichen, signaling him to calm down. He then turned his gaze back to Han Mo and said, "I suspect Xu Xiaolin's diary contains more than just her infatuation with Lin Su, doesn't it?"
Hearing Wang Shen ask this question, Han Mo looked up at Wang Shen, the light in her eyes gradually dimming.
Wang Shen noticed Han Mo's gaze, nodded, and continued, "You only started your revenge plan three years later. I originally thought you wanted to wait for all the evidence to fade with time. But now it seems that's not the case."
Wang Shen paused for a moment, observed Han Mo's expression, and then continued, "Based on my understanding of Xu Xiaolin, she should be a kind person. Moreover, she often mentioned you, her older sister, to me back then."
As Wang Shen finished speaking, tears welled up in Han Mo's eyes.
Wang Shen ignored Han Mo's tears and continued, "So, Xu Xiaolin's diary should also record her struggles in falling in love with Lin Su, and her decision to give up on Lin Su. In addition, Xu Xiaolin must have expressed her love for you, her older sister, in her diary, right?"
