The next morning, Chen Ze and a dozen or so members of the Panda Mobile team had breakfast in a private room at the hotel.
Ding Yuanning spoke first, his expression grave:
"Chairman, after preliminary inspection, only 30 of the 50 Vietnamese suppliers we contacted yesterday provided products that meet the standards, while the remaining 20 failed to meet the standards. What should we do?"
As he spoke, he handed the thick report in his hand to Chen Ze.
Chen Ze took the report, his brow furrowing slightly, and began to carefully read through it. After a while, he put down the report, pondered for a moment, and then said:
"Alright, Ding Yuanning, after you finish breakfast, head to Ho Chi Minh City immediately to see if there are any qualified mobile phone parts manufacturers there. If you really can't find a suitable manufacturer, then there's no other way but to ship them over from China by sea."
"Yes, Chairman, I understand." Ding Yuanning nodded in response.
Time flew by, and before long Ding Yuanning finished his breakfast and then hurriedly left with his assistant.
Just then, Chen Xiyu walked in with light steps. She went straight to where Chen Ze was, and whispered in his ear as she got closer:
"Boss, when I came out of the restroom, a strange woman secretly handed me a business card. She also specifically asked me to tell you not to invest in Hanoi."
Upon hearing this, Chen Ze's eyes narrowed sharply, a hint of doubt and wariness flashing within them. He then asked, "Oh...did the other party mention whose people she works for?"
Shen Xiyu shook her head and replied, "No, she didn't mention that."
Chen Ze fiddled with the business card, which only had the name "Li Gaoxiang" and a phone number printed on it, with no other information.
He pondered to himself what the person behind this was really planning.
"Secretary Shen, keep this matter quiet for now," Chen Ze instructed.
Chen Xiyu nodded.
Chen Ze decided to dial the number first to test the waters. After the call was connected, a deep male voice came from the other end:
"Chairman Chen, the waters in Hanoi run deep. The business forces here are complex and intertwined. Many seemingly normal suppliers are backed by corrupt officials with vested interests. Outsiders like you can easily become victims. Therefore, I suggest you invest in Ho Chi Minh City."
Chen Ze sneered: "Then why did you remind me? And who are you?"
"Who I am is not important. I just don't want to see innocent businessmen being cheated. If you insist on finding suppliers here, be careful that you don't end up losing everything."
After saying that, the other party hung up the phone.
Chen Ze's character was extremely ugly. He clenched his fists. He was not someone who would be easily intimidated, but he had to take the mysterious man's words seriously.
He waved to Wang Yilei.
Wang Yilei approached and, seeing his boss's pale face, cautiously asked, "Chairman, what's wrong?"
"It's nothing. Go and find out about those product suppliers from yesterday. See if any small businesses have official backing. If necessary, spend some money to investigate."
After saying that, Chen Ze handed him a bank card containing 1.75 billion Vietnamese dong, which is approximately 500,000 RMB.
Wang Yilei took the bank card and turned to leave.
After a while, everyone had finished eating, and Chen Ze paid the bill and left. Unexpectedly, they had just stepped out of the hotel.
Hanoi Mayor Nguyen Van Hung, accompanied by a female secretary, came to greet him.
The two shook hands and smiled politely.
Ruan Wenxiong smiled and said, "Mr. Chen, I'll take you to see it today. I've personally approved a 70,000-square-meter plot of land for your Panda Group. I guarantee you'll be satisfied."
A plot of land of 70,000 square meters is indeed quite large, and it's clear that Mayor Nguyen has invested heavily in Hanoi.
"Mayor Ruan, is the transportation to that place convenient?" Chen Ze asked.
Ruan Wenxiong said confidently, "Mr. Chen, rest assured, it will be absolutely convenient."
Chen Ze still had doubts, after all, he had just received a warning call, but he still smiled amicably and said, "Then I'll trouble Mayor Ruan to lead the way."
Along the way, Nguyen Van Hung enthusiastically introduced the planning and development prospects of the area surrounding the land.
Upon arriving at his destination, Chen Ze found that the location of the land was indeed good. There was a large river next to the wasteland, and the transportation was relatively convenient. However, he did not express his opinion immediately.
Just then, a crisp and melodious cell phone ringtone suddenly rang out, breaking the slightly dull atmosphere at the scene.
Ruan Wenxiong quickly pulled his phone out of his pocket, his gaze casually sweeping over the flashing caller ID on the screen, his brow furrowing slightly.
But after politely apologizing to those around him, he quickly walked away so that he could answer the call more clearly and quietly.
Not long after, accompanied by the deep, powerful roar of car engines approaching from afar, a magnificent and luxurious convoy, like a long dragon, slowly drove into view.
Leading the convoy was none other than the world-renowned, priceless Rolls-Royce Phantom, its body gleaming with dazzling light, as if showcasing its unparalleled prestige and luxury to the world.
After the entire convoy came to a smooth stop, the car doors opened one by one, and a group of well-dressed bodyguards got out of the cars first, standing in two rows in a well-trained manner, forming a tight protective barrier.
Immediately afterwards, a fat, bald old man with a large belly slowly and laboriously got off the most eye-catching Rolls-Royce Phantom.
The old man walked with slightly unsteady steps, his eyes fixed straight ahead in the direction where Chen Ze and Ruan Wenxiong were.
As they got closer, it became clear that his round face was full of smiles, but his small eyes occasionally flashed with shrewd calculation.
When he finally arrived before everyone, Ruan Wenxiong, who had been waiting there, immediately stepped forward enthusiastically, beaming as he introduced him to Chen Ze:
"Mr. Chen, come, come, let me introduce you. This is Mr. Liu Kaida, the renowned and widely respected chairman of Dali Dairy Group in Hanoi."
"Chairman Liu came here today specifically to discuss cooperation matters with you. So, I'm here to quickly act as a go-between for the two of you."
Upon hearing Ruan Wenxiong's words, Chen Ze's eyes widened in disbelief.
He was filled with doubt: "??? What's going on? How could my company, which works in the technology industry, have a cooperation opportunity with a company that sells milk? This is too outrageous!"
Thinking of this, Chen Ze couldn't help but curse inwardly, "Holy crap, is Mayor Ruan here to help facilitate cooperation, or is he just here to mess with me? It's both laughable and infuriating."
Although he was very unhappy, he still politely shook hands and greeted Liu Kaida on Liu's turf.
