Chapter 325 The Cotton Futures Battle (Part 1)

The convoy wound its way along the wide highway, like a long snake slithering through the mountains.

After a 20-minute drive, we finally arrived at our destination – the Shanghai World Financial Center in Lujiazui, Shanghai.

This building is a landmark in the area, resembling a giant sword piercing the clouds, and anyone who passes by can't help but look up at it.

The car door slowly opened, and Chen Ze and Ge Weidong stepped out one after the other. They were dressed in sharp suits and walked with steady steps, exuding confidence and composure.

The two walked side by side into the building's elevator, which quickly ascended and soon reached the 49th floor.

The elevator doors opened gently, revealing the office area of Chaos Tiancheng Futures Company.

In the spacious and bright office, rows of neat desks are arranged, and staff members are busy operating computers, while telephones ring incessantly.

Ge Weidong and Chen Ze walked straight to the coffee table and sat down. A beautiful female secretary followed them over and smiled as she made tea for them.

“President Chen, the battle between us and foreign capital has been fierce these past two days, and the trading volume in the cotton futures market has increased significantly as a result. What used to be a few billion yuan in daily trading volume has now become more than 12 billion yuan, and the upward trend is accelerating.” Ge Weidong said as he handed a report to Chen Ze.

Chen Ze took the report, quickly glanced at it, then looked up at Ge Weidong and asked, "What was the closing price of cotton futures yesterday?"

Ge Weidong immediately replied, "Yesterday's closing price for cotton futures was [price] yuan per ton, a slight increase compared to the previous day."

Chen Ze nodded slightly and continued, "So how much usable money do we have in our account right now?"

After a moment's thought, Ge Weidong replied, "There are currently 9.8 billion yuan available in the account."

Hearing that there was still a large amount of funds available, Chen Ze nodded in satisfaction.

He raised his wrist to check the time; there were still five minutes until the market opened.

Just then, his phone rang.

"Excuse me, I need to take this call," Chen Ze said.

Ge Weidong nodded in acknowledgment.

Chen Ze pressed the answer button, and Chen Youfu's loud voice immediately came from the other end of the phone.

"Zezi, I heard last night that you've formed a Cantonese business group. How could I miss out on such a big event!"

“Uncle Youfu, it’s great that you can join us. But I’m a little curious, why didn’t you come with Chairman Daming yesterday?” Chen Ze asked.

Chen Youfu laughed heartily.

"Haha, Zezai, I'm in the capital of Jiangsu Province! I recently acquired a piece of land here and am planning to build a residential complex."

"Oh, I see. You must be very busy." Chen Ze suddenly realized.

"Yes, that's why I couldn't get away yesterday. But it's all right now, I've almost finished dealing with things here, so I just wanted to give you a call," Chen Youfu explained.

“Okay, Uncle Youfu, I understand. I definitely agree to your request. You are an important member of our Guangfu merchant group!” Chen Ze said.

"That's good, that's good! By the way, Zezi, I have something important to do, so I won't chat with you any longer. We'll contact each other again later," Chen Youfu said.

Chen Ze readily agreed, "Okay, Uncle Youfu, you go ahead with your work. Call me anytime if you need anything." After saying that, Chen Ze quickly hung up the phone.

However, to Chen Ze's surprise, Chen Hao called immediately after he hung up Chen Youfu's call. Chen Hao was also asking about joining the Guangfu business community, and Chen Ze agreed without hesitation.

Immediately afterward, the fat man called, and sure enough, he was also asking about joining the Guangdong merchant guild. Chen Ze agreed without hesitation, just like before.

Just as Chen Ze hung up the phone with the fat man, Ge Weidong reminded him, "Mr. Chen, we've started. The market has opened."

Upon hearing this

Chen Ze quickly turned his gaze toward the direction from which the sound came, and saw that Ge Weidong was already sitting steadily in front of his computer, seemingly preparing to start working.

Chen Ze didn't dare to delay for a moment. He quickly stood up, walked briskly to his seat, turned on his computer, and skillfully logged into his cotton futures account. Everything seemed to go smoothly.

Just then, a calm and firm voice suddenly came from inside the room: "Each group, check the system." It was Ge Weidong's voice. Although his tone was calm, the determination he revealed was undeniable.

Immediately afterwards, responses came from various groups:

"Mobile team in position."

"Algorithmic trading team in place."

"Information station team in position."

Every sound was clear and crisp, indicating that each group was ready.

As the stock market opened, the cotton futures market reacted like a powder keg being ignited, experiencing sharp fluctuations.

A flood of sell orders surged forth, causing prices to plummet like a rollercoaster, dropping by 1.5 percent in just a few minutes.

“They’ve started,” the chief trader said in a low voice, his brow furrowed, clearly surprised by the sudden turn of events.

However, Chen Ze was not affected by the situation. His eyes were fixed on the constantly changing data stream on the screen, and he calmly analyzed the market trend.

After a while, he slowly spoke: "No, this is just a test from the other side. We will proceed with the original Plan A." Although his voice was not loud, it was full of confidence and decisiveness.

Moments later, a mysterious, huge buy order suddenly appeared in the market, instantly absorbing all the sell orders.

In the blink of an eye, the price skyrocketed, quickly returning to its original position.

This is clearly a "greeting" strategy by Ge Weidong, as if he is showing off his strength to his opponents.

However, unexpectedly, just half an hour later, a large number of sell orders appeared on the computer screen again, and this time the number of sell orders was twice as many as the previous wave.

Faced with such a massive wave of sell orders, cotton futures prices predictably plummeted, dropping by three percent in a short period of time.

Seeing the market situation deteriorate rapidly, Chen Ze did not hesitate at all. His fingers flew across the keyboard like lightning, quickly swallowing all the sell orders.

Almost simultaneously, cotton futures prices, as if by magic, rebounded to their original level at an astonishing speed.

And so, the two sides went back and forth, neither giving an inch, and this thrilling contest lasted for more than an hour.

For more than an hour, all the traders in the room were extremely busy, their eyes glued to the screens, not daring to relax for a moment.

Time ticked by, and finally, the clock struck 11:00, and cotton futures prices entered a brief period of calm.
