Since superpowers haven't appeared yet, the ruler should use force to solve problems whenever possible, which will also be a good opportunity to train his physical abilities.
The Duke swiftly drew his weapon, ready to fight the mutated spider to the bitter end.
This spider was enormous, at least eight to ten meters long, covered in a hard exoskeleton. Its black eyes gleamed with a sinister light, and blood dripped from the corner of its mouth, as if it had just enjoyed a bloody feast.
"Wan'er, remember to keep your distance!" Junjue shouted. He gripped his weapon tightly, ready to face this battle, which was already a foregone conclusion.
The mutated spider lunged at them, spraying out fist-sized strands of silk from its mouth.
The Doomsday Lord skillfully dodged while fiercely attacking the spider's body with his weapon.
"You think you can defeat me?" The Doomsday Lord gritted his teeth, staring disdainfully at the mutated spider.
This kind of trash wouldn't even be worthy of carrying their shoes in my past life.
However, he was puzzled as to why there were mutated creatures as soon as they came out.
The spider's body writhed, as if sensing the lord's contempt, and it bared its teeth and claws in anger, making "squeak squeak squeak" sounds.
Then it rushed over, wanting to tear the Duke to pieces and devour him.
He held his breath, skillfully dodging the spider's attacks while constantly counterattacking.
The spider let out a low hiss, its voice filled with terror and mockery, as if to say, "You foolish humans are all my prey!"
"We are not your prey, we are the survivors!" The Duke seemed to understand the other party's thoughts and replied disdainfully.
His surroundings were splattered with spider venom, but he showed no sign of backing down.
Watching the fierce battle between the two, Wan'er was filled with worry and fear, but she knew that only by trusting Junjue could they survive.
Although Junjue was a level 11 superpowered person in his previous life, he was only a level 4 superpowered person after being reborn. Apart from his reaction speed being able to keep up, his superpower was not as glorious as before.
However, he was still quite confident that he could defeat these low-level mutated creatures.
In the ensuing battle, the Lord finally found the mutated spider's weakness. He plunged his sword into the spider's body, and blood gushed from the wound.
The spider let out a scream and writhed violently, trying to shake off the Lord.
"I won't let you escape! Today you've met your match, and you're doomed!" Lord Jun roared, his weapon swiftly thrusting towards the spider's vitals.
The spider struggled a few times before finally collapsing to the ground. It showed no signs of life, leaving only a huge corpse.
The Duke looked at the spider's corpse on the ground, but felt no joy of victory.
Having experienced countless battles before, he was no longer affected by such things.
He used the knife in his hand to forcefully pry open the spider's forehead, and a pale red crystal core fell out.
"It's only a first-level crystal engraving, but it's better than nothing!"
He washed the crystal core clean and tossed it into his spatial storage, then walked over to Wan'er, smiling as he said, "Wan'er, it's alright now."
Wan'er breathed a sigh of relief and hugged Junjue with a smile. They had gone through a thrilling battle, but they believed that as long as they were united, they could find hope for survival in this apocalyptic world.
They turned and left the supermarket entrance, continuing their journey.
Although the shadow of danger still looms over the world, they believe that as long as they do not give up, they will surely find their own dawn.
"I was so scared just now! That spider was so big, at least eight meters long!"
No wonder there was such carnage everywhere, with constant screams; the mutated creatures have reappeared. He patted his chest and said.
Junjue comforted her, "It's alright, Wan'er. We must be strong and brave to survive."
"Okay! I understand. If the surroundings weren't so blurry, I would have already gone over to fight the mutated creatures," Wan'er said awkwardly.
"It's alright. I'll protect you during this time. Once the smog clears up, you can continue practicing. Let's get on our way!"
The two continued on their way. Junjue led Wan'er through the ruins of the dilapidated city. After passing an abandoned commercial street, they heard cries for help coming from not far away.
"Help! Monster! There's a monster here!"
"Help! My husband is about to be killed by a monster!"
"Waaaaah... Is anyone there?! Help! We just wanted to find some supplies, how did such a terrifying thing appear?"
"Help! I don't want to die here."
Junjue and Wan'er exchanged a glance, and he asked for her opinion. If Wan'er asked him to save her, he would save her; if she didn't, he would take her away.
"Let's save them if we can! They are all innocent people."
"Wan'er, you must understand that once you save those people, you must treat them like your own mother and take them to a safe place," Junjue said gently.
Wan'er said reluctantly, "Anyway, we have plenty of time, and we still need to see that mother and daughter."
The world is so chaotic these days, it's definitely not safe for them to live in a youth hostel. Let's get these people and that mother and daughter to an official shelter before we leave!
"Alright then! I'll listen to Wan'er. We're just killing monsters and mining their crystal cores anyway."
After saying that, the two people and their two dogs quickly went over and found that two middle-aged women and two middle-aged men were beaten up by a giant mutated centipede and were covered in blood.
It was a giant mutated centipede, tens of meters long, with sharp tentacles covering its dark brown exoskeleton.
Its head has a pair of huge compound eyes that gleam with a green light.
