Chapter 25 Yun Xingfei Reunited

Xiaoyue looked down from the mountain toward the source of the voices, but the mountain was covered with trees and tall wormwood, and she couldn't see any people. Xiaoyue tiptoed and slowly approached the voices.

When we reached the old locust tree, the voices gradually became less noticeable, and we could only hear "uh, uh" sounds.

Following the sound, she went closer to look and was stunned for a full three seconds before looking up at the man.

The man in front of me was bound hand and foot and hung from the waist of a locust tree. He was hanging flat, the ropes tied well, and he was lying flat with ropes tied from his waist, back, and thighs.

Yun Xingfei's face was pale, his eyes were bloodshot, his hands were tied behind his back like a big worm, and his white robe looked like it had rolled seven or eight times on the ground. The usually clean Yun Xingfei was in such a disheveled state.

The moment he saw Xiaoyue, his first reaction was shyness, followed by a strong will to survive; he wanted Xiaoyue to save him. The more she wanted to save him, the more anxious he became, and in his haste, he thrashed about with the rope binding him, his head snapping back.

Xiaoyue took the contents out of the basket, carefully arranged them far away from the tree, then took the basket over and, with Yun Xingfei hanging below, turned it upside down, stepped on the basket, and pulled the handkerchief stuffed into Yun Xingfei's mouth.

Yun Xingfei spat out the fruit pit in his mouth and heard a venomous voice, cold and menacing, say along the rope suspending him by the waist: "Yun Ba, you wait, sooner or later I'll tie you up here and hang you up all night too."

Xiaoyue looked at Yun Xingfei's disheveled appearance and suddenly wanted to laugh. She tried her best to hold it in, then looked up and met his anxious eyes. Yun Xingfei said angrily, "Why don't you untie me!"

Unexpectedly, Yun Xingfei urged her anxiously. Xiaoyue scratched her head, frowned, and said in a low voice, "I also want to untie you, but I can't reach either end. If I cut the rope around your waist, you'll definitely fall down."

"Let it fall, it's not like I've never fallen before. Just hurry up!" Yun Xingfei was getting more and more anxious and impatient.

"But I can't reach it." Xiaoyue raised her hand to cut the rope around his waist, but the sickle couldn't reach it.

Yun Xingfei said anxiously and helplessly, "Hold my feet up, and I can stand up by stepping on your hands. Then use the sickle to cut the rope binding my hands. I can take care of the rest myself."

Xiaoyue used her sickle to try and hook the rope tied to Yun Xingfei's foot, but after two tries she still couldn't reach it. Xiaoyue jumped off her basket, picked up the rope used to tie firewood, and swung it at Yun Xingfei's foot, finally managing to grab her leg. Then she pulled hard towards herself, hugging the leg to her chest.

He slashed the sickle at the rope binding Yun Xingfei's hands, and the rope immediately came undone. Not only did the rope come undone, but blood also flowed down his back.

The rope came undone, and Xiaoyue, clinging to Yun Xingfei's thigh, lost her balance due to the pain in Yun Xingfei's back. Yun Xingfei and Xiaoyue both fell headfirst down. Yun Xingfei was still bound by the rope, and his arms were not completely separated. Xiaoyue was pinned down by Yun Xingfei's lower body.

Something was pressing against Xiaoyue's face. Xiaoyue was struggling haphazardly when she heard Yun Xingfei's deep and magnetic voice say, "Don't move." Xiaoyue could clearly hear the embarrassment in Yun Xingfei's voice.

Yun Xingfei bent over, and part of the rope around his body came loose. There was still a rope binding his whole body, but before it was loosened, Yun Xingfei fell to the side. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Xiaoyue rolled over and sat up next to Yun Xingfei.

Just then, Gao Lei, carrying a bundle of rope, came in from the road and witnessed the whole scene.

Xiaoyue happened to see Gao Lei's gloomy face. He turned around angrily and walked down the mountain without giving Xiaoyue a chance to explain. Xiaoyue didn't care about carrying her basket. She stood up abruptly and ran like an arrow to find Gao Lei to explain.

As they approached the hillside, Xiaoyue finally caught up with Gao Lei, who was walking ahead. To make it easier to talk, Xiaoyue overtook Gao Lei and then stretched out her hands to block him. Xiaoyue could see Gao Lei's anger was about to burst forth. He coldly said, "No wonder you have money to repair your house, no wonder you have money to buy farm tools." After saying that, he chuckled softly twice and turned his head away from Xiaoyue.

Xiaoyue felt a chill run down her spine after hearing Gao Lei's words. She hadn't expected him to think of her this way, and any desire to explain vanished instantly. She simply smiled contemptuously at Gao Lei and said, "You call yourself a scholar? What's the difference between you and Ge Erping?"

After saying that, Xiaoyue wiped the sweat from her sweat as she chased him down the mountain, turned around, and went up the mountain to find her basket.

Upon hearing Xiaoyue's words, Gao Lei flew into a rage. He grabbed Xiaoyue's sleeve and angrily rebuked her, "You think you're right that I didn't report your immoral behavior to Old Man Ge and the village chief?"

Xiaoyue pulled out her sleeve, gave Gao Lei a disdainful look, and said, "Seeing is not necessarily believing." Xiaoyue resolutely walked up the mountain.

When they arrived, Yun Xingfei was still waiting for Xiaoyue under the tree. Seeing Xiaoyue come up dejectedly with heavy steps, he smiled and said to her, "Is this your man? No, your man should be at the border. Is he your lover?"

Xiaoyue glared at Yun Xingfei, but when she saw that his eyes were no longer red and his face was no longer pale, his bright peach blossom eyes and full lips were smiling, revealing his two little tiger teeth, Xiaoyue suddenly stopped being angry.

Picking up the basket, I put the three Ganoderma lucidum mushrooms into it, along with the dark Xiaoyue mushroom, which I planned to use as firewood for the house.

Seeing Xiaoyue holding a dark, unidentified object, Yun Xingfei casually asked, "Where did you get this thing?"

Xiaoyue said nonchalantly, "I'm going to take it back to the linden tree hole to start a fire. I heard from the old folks that flammable things are soft and black."

Yun Xingfei took the dark object from Xiaoyue's hand, smelled it, and examined it many times before solemnly telling Xiaoyue, "When you go to the market, take this to the clinic and ask Manager Tong."

Xiaoyue glanced at Yun Xingfei suspiciously, then tore off a leaf from beside her and wrapped the dark object in it. It seemed that anything valuable had to be well-packaged, so she didn't take it out in a shabby manner.

Xiaoyue really wanted to ask who had tied Yun Xingfei up here, but then she remembered that Yun Xingfei had saved her life, so she suppressed her curiosity.

"Go down the mountain from here. The journey isn't far anymore." Xiaoyue put on her basket and started gathering firewood. She chopped down any dead branches with her sickle. By the time the sun was almost setting, the firewood she had gathered was a head taller than her.

Xiaoyue tied the firewood together with a rope, put the basket in front of her, and carried the firewood on her back as she walked down the mountain.

Just then, Gao Lei, carrying firewood, came out from the other side.

As Xiaoyue carried firewood, she wondered what her house would look like and where she would stay that night.
