I slept until past ten o'clock, stretched, and woke up naturally – it felt so good.
Ye Yunxi got up, washed her face and brushed her teeth, put some food out for Yunzi, took out her own breakfast from her spatial storage, and happily ate it.
After breakfast, we tidied up and took Yunzi out to find someone to do the renovations.
I drove out of the residential area and arrived at a security store. I left Yunzi in the car and got out myself.
I walked into the store and called out, "Is anyone here?"
The landlady heard someone shouting and ran out of the small room.
He chuckled and asked, "Little girl, what do you need to buy?"
Without wasting any more words, Ye Yunxi asked, "Do you have the best security door here? The kind that can't be damaged by knives and guns."
"Yes, yes, yes, I really do have one. Someone ordered one for me a couple of days ago," the proprietress nodded quickly.
Ye Yunxi didn't have time to listen to other people's business; all she needed was a good security door.
After agreeing on the price with the landlady and paying the deposit, we scheduled the renovation to begin that afternoon.
Then I went to the pharmacy and bought some medicine, including Western medicine, Chinese medicine, antibiotics, and even some condoms.
While you might not need condoms yourself, they're a valuable commodity in the apocalypse.
I wandered around and bought what I needed.
Time flies, and the agreed-upon time for renovations has arrived.
Ye Yunxi drove home, where several workers were already waiting at the door. Upon seeing Ye Yunxi arrive, the workers greeted her.
Ye Yunxi nodded in agreement. She explained her idea to the workers, who didn't say much and immediately started working.
Just then, the door opposite opened, revealing a young and strong man.
Ye Yunxi looked up at the man warily.
The man was taken aback when he saw the pretty girl looking at him, then smiled at her.
Close the door, lock the door, and take the elevator downstairs.
Watching the man's series of actions, Ye Yunxi frowned. What serious illness did this man have?
While guarding the workers' renovation gate, Ye Yunxi's phone rang after a while.
He answered the phone, said a few words, called Yunzi over, and gave her some instructions, saying that he had to go out to run some errands and asked her to stay home and watch over things.
Yunzi barked, "Woof woof!" "Human, don't worry, I'll keep a close eye on the house and never let a thief in."
After instructing Yunzi and telling the workers that he was going out to take care of some business and would be back soon, he left.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, Ye Yunxi drove to the warehouse.
As soon as I got off the bus, I saw the dock manager and several workers.
The dock manager smiled and said, "Ms. Ye, all your seafood is here. Please check it over, and if there are no problems, you can sign for it."
Ye Yunxi inspected the seafood in each of the trucks one by one, and after confirming that there were no problems, she transferred the final payment to the dock manager.
The person in charge was all smiles when he saw the money being transferred, and immediately had several workers help carry it into the warehouse.
Ye Yunxi ignored the person in charge's expression and watched them carry box after box back and forth.
After the last box was unloaded, the person in charge said goodbye to Ye Yunxi and drove back to the dock.
Watching them walk away, I went into the warehouse, stored all the seafood in my spatial storage, and then closed and locked the warehouse.
I contacted the warehouse owner and explained that I would no longer be renting it out starting tomorrow.
The warehouse owner was surprised, "Young lady, you're not renting it anymore? There's still more than a week left in the three-month period."
"Yes, I'm not renting it anymore. You don't need to get a refund for the remaining rent. I've left the key in the security room; you can pick it up yourself later." Ye Yunxi made up her mind.
After explaining the situation to the warehouse owner, I handed the key to the security guard, saying that someone would come to pick it up later.
Driving back to the neighborhood, Ye Yunxi saw that the workers were almost finished. She took a few bottles of mineral water from home and said, "Brothers, you've worked hard. Have some water first!"
The workers were surprised by the girl's enthusiasm and accepted the water, saying, "It's no trouble at all, thank you for the water."
Ye Yunxi smiled and nodded. After waiting for a while, the workers finally finished. Looking at her three-layered security door, she felt much safer.
He paid the foreman, saw the workers off, and then closed the door and turned on the air conditioning to enjoy himself.
After resting for a while, Ye Yunxi went into the kitchen to cook dinner.
An hour later, three dishes and a soup were ready, along with a pot of rice. I gave Yunzi some food and then leisurely ate my dinner myself.
After dinner, Ye Yunxi and Yunzi relaxed on the new sofa and watched a show.
I watched a show for a while and then practiced my physical fitness. Just hoarding supplies isn't enough; if your physical fitness isn't up to par, you'll be defeated and eaten in this cannibalistic apocalypse.
After practicing for two hours, Ye Yunxi was drenched in sweat and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
Twenty minutes later, Ye Yunxi came out of the bathroom, drying her hair with a towel. She sat on the sofa, crossed her legs, and hummed a song.
Suddenly, they heard Yunzi barking loudly at the door.
Ye Yunxi cautiously took out a dagger, walked to the door, and looked through the peephole. It turned out the neighbor across the hall had returned, carrying several boxes, the contents of which were obscured.
The man seemed to sense Ye Yunxi's gaze, turned around, grinned at the door, and went into the room.
Ye Yunxi looked at the man coldly. As long as he didn't threaten her, whatever he did was none of her business.
He then took Yunzi back to his room, played on his phone for a while, and then fell asleep holding Yunzi.
