Ye Yunxi and Gu Qingqing were busy until after 4 p.m. before they finished their work.
After packing her things, Gu Qingqing and Ye Yunxi left the hospital together. Seeing that no one was waiting at the entrance, they went to the research center together.
When they arrived at the research center, they saw several staff members cleaning up insect eggs and snake eggs nearby.
Ye Yunxi and Gu Qingqing walked past them, pushed open the door, and went inside.
Ye Yunxi didn't know where Fu Heng's studio was, but Gu Qingqing knew that Fu Heng and Zhang Haiyi shared the same studio.
After walking for a few minutes, Gu Qingqing and Ye Yunxi arrived at a studio. They knocked on the door and waited for about two minutes, but no one answered. Gu Qingqing knocked again, but still no one answered.
Ye Yunxi looked at her. "Is there no one inside?"
Gu Qingqing thought for a moment. "It should be. I usually get off work early and come to see Brother Yi. He opens the door after knocking for a short while. He's probably gone somewhere else."
"Let's find someone and ask them where they went," Ye Yunxi suggested.
"That's fine, so we don't have to wait here forever." Gu Qingqing agreed with Ye Yunxi's suggestion.
The two returned to the entrance, where several staff members were cleaning up insect eggs, perhaps knowing where Fu Heng and Zhang Haiyi had gone.
They arrived at the door, walked up to the staff, and Gu Qingqing politely asked.
"Hello, do you know where Fu Heng and Zhang Haiyi went?"
One of the staff members asked.
"What do you need them for?"
Gu Qingqing replied, "We are their girlfriends, so naturally we've come to see them."
The staff member pointed to the other side and said.
"Oh, they're cleaning up insect eggs and snake eggs over there. It's just a little past this house."
Gu Qingqing politely thanked them and then pulled Ye Yunxi in the direction the staff pointed out.
After walking for a few minutes, the two saw Fu Heng and Zhang Haiyi from a distance, busy in the corner.
Gu Qingqing shouted at them.
"Brother Yi!! Brother Heng!!"
Fu Heng and Zhang Haiyi turned their heads and looked in the direction of the sound, only to see Ye Yunxi and Gu Qingqing standing in the sunlight.
Gu Qingqing waved to them, then pulled Ye Yunxi and ran to Fu Heng and Zhang Haiyi.
Fu Heng said to them with a smile.
"Xixi, what brings you all here?"
Before Ye Yunxi could speak, Gu Qingqing spoke first.
“We got off work early today, and our supervisor told us to go home early and thoroughly check every corner. We’re worried about insect eggs and snake eggs,” Gu Qingqing continued. “How much do you still need to clean? How about Yunxi and I help you clean it up?”
After Gu Qingqing finished speaking, she started rolling up her sleeves, but Zhang Haiyi quickly stopped her and said something to her.
"No need for help, we still have some here. You can rest over here for a bit, we'll finish cleaning up soon."
Gu Qingqing stopped what she was doing. "Alright, then let's wait and see."
Fu Heng also told Ye Yunxi to rest nearby, where there was a shady spot where she could escape the sun.
Ye Yunxi nodded but did not leave.
Fu Heng smiled helplessly and followed Zhang Haiyi to quickly clean up the insect eggs and snake eggs.
There weren't many snake eggs, but there were a lot of insect eggs.
After Fu Heng and Zhang Haiyi finished cleaning up and tidying up their things, they put them back in their office and then, with Gu Qingqing in their car, drove home.
Fu Heng first took Gu Qingqing and Zhang Haiyi home, and after saying goodbye, they went back to their own homes.
Upon returning home, Ye Yunxi and Fu Heng immediately began checking every corner of the house.
In a corner of the yard, they found three snake eggs and a small pile of insect eggs. After quickly cleaning them up, the two sprinkled pesticide powder and sulfur back into the corner.
The two checked again to make sure there was nothing wrong before returning to the sofa to sit down and rest.
After resting for a while, the two went into the space to have dinner with Xuan Yu. After dinner, they took a shower in the space and stayed there for a while before Ye Yunxi and Fu Heng left the space and returned to their own rooms.
Ye Yunxi recalled what had happened in the past few days and said to Fu Heng.
"I think the sudden appearance of these large insect eggs and snake eggs might be man-made, otherwise they couldn't have appeared so suddenly. Even if it's not insect eggs, what about snake eggs? Are there any outside the base? And what about those inside the base itself?"
Fu Heng thought for a moment before answering. "The insect eggs and snake eggs did indeed appear suddenly. Insects can lay eggs anywhere, but snakes should be in the wild. How they ended up in a populated area is still unknown."
Whether there are any outside the base is hard to say. As for other bases, each base is in contact with the others. If they are in danger, they will ask our First Base for help, and Base Commander Wu will know immediately.
Fu Heng continued.
"Okay, stop thinking about it. Let things take their course. You've had a long day, so get some rest."
They then went to bed early. For the next week, the entire base was either cleaning up insect eggs and snake eggs or on their way to do so.
On the other side, a masked man sat on a high chair, looking down at the people kneeling below.
"How are the insect eggs and snake eggs coming along?"
The man in black, kneeling on the ground, spoke respectfully.
"Please rest assured, Your Majesty, we have carried out the tasks you entrusted to us in accordance with your instructions."
The masked man said, "Very good. Now we can let those little guys come out and play with the humans."
The man in black said, "Yes, I will go and give them the orders right away."
After the man in black left, the masked man looked into the distance and said.
"Fu Heng, I've been looking everywhere for you. I never expected you to have escaped all the way to Earth. No matter, the real show is just beginning. I'm looking forward to the moment you see me!"
