Chapter 21 Fishing, Confession

When Ye Yunxi returned home, she first put out some food for Yunzi, taking out braised pork, hot and sour shredded potatoes, and a bowl of rice from her spatial storage.

The braised pork belly is fatty but not greasy, and the shredded potatoes are sour and spicy, making them appetizing.

After finishing lunch, I picked up the table and threw the trash into the storage space.

After taking a shower and playing with Yunzi for a while, seeing that it was almost time for training, I took out ten eggs, two apples, and two pears from my spatial storage. I put them in a bag and went to Fu Heng's house for training.

As soon as Fu Heng opened the door, Ye Yunxi handed him the bag. "This is a thank-you gift for you, a return gift."

"Thank you." Fu Heng accepted the bag without hesitation and expressed his gratitude.

The afternoon was both joyful and painful.

After three hours of training, Ye Yunxi lay on the ground, panting heavily, and said, "I'm not coming anymore, it's too tiring."

Fu Heng smiled indulgently: "Alright, that's all for today."

Ye Yunxi waved her hand and remained silent.

After resting, Ye Yunxi took a breath and asked, "Fu Heng, did you see the relief supplies from yesterday?"

"I've looked at it, are there any problems?" Fu Heng asked, raising an eyebrow.

“It’s canned fish, which reminds me that the country must have fished it out from the riverbank, where there’s a fishpond,” Ye Yunxi said seriously.

"I'm thinking of going to check it out tonight, and maybe I can salvage some if I find any. Want to come along?"

Fu Heng was pleasantly surprised to hear her invitation. "Sure, but the water level hasn't receded yet. How are we supposed to get there?"

Ye Yunxi thought for a moment: "I have an inflatable kayak and fishing gear."

“I have one too, and I also have fishing gear. So what time shall we go tonight?” Fu Heng asked.

"Let's do it at ten o'clock tonight," Ye Yunxi said.

“Okay, then let’s meet at the entrance tonight.” Fu Heng nodded.

Ye Yunxi bid farewell to Fu Heng and returned home.

When I got home, I took a bath to wash away the fatigue. I didn't have much of an appetite in the evening, so I ate some cold rice noodles.

At 10 PM, Ye Yunxi changed into a black windbreaker. She instructed Yunzi to guard the house.

Grab the kayak, sling on your large black backpack, open the door, and you'll bump into Fu Heng just as he's coming out. Lock the door, and go downstairs with Fu Heng.

They quietly went up to the third floor, put the kayak on the water, and the two of them rowed out of the community one after the other.

As Ye Yunxi and Fu Heng paddled away from the residential area in their kayak, someone in their building had already been secretly watching them.

The two looked around warily, lest someone come out to intercept them.

It took more than an hour to reach the riverbank. Once on the shore, we packed up the kayak.

After walking for another ten minutes or so, they arrived at the fishpond. Both of them were astonished by the sight before them.

“Fu Heng, this fishpond is huge. There must be a lot of fish in it. I suppose the officials come here to fish. There’s even a sign in front that says, ‘State-owned fishpond, those who fish here will be fined 1,000 yuan.’” Ye Yunxi said in surprise.

“It’s quite big. Let’s hurry up and catch some fish, or we’ll be in trouble if the government catches us.” Fu Heng glanced at it and said to Ye Yunxi.

Ye Yunxi nodded slightly.

The two of them carried a large net filled with various kinds of fish, including silver carp, grass carp, and yellow catfish.

After netting five or six baskets, Fu Heng, feeling that it was about enough, said, "We've netted so much, it'll be enough to eat for a while."

Ye Yunxi thought that was about enough. Now that Fu Heng was there, she would have forgotten even more. "Okay, let's stop catching them. Now, how do we transport them back?"

Fu Heng thought for a moment: "I can kill the fish here and take it back. I have a knife here, I can do the killing, and you can do the cleaning."

Ye Yunxi raised an eyebrow and said, "I didn't expect you could kill fish."

"Killing fish is simple, but it's all physical labor," Fu Heng said, looking at the mountain of fish in front of him.

The two quickly divided the work: one killed the fish, and the other gutted it.

It took more than four hours to process, and it was already late at night.

After finishing the last task, the two men, paralyzed, lay on the ground to rest.

"I didn't expect cleaning these fish to be so troublesome," Ye Yunxi said, panting heavily.

Under the moonlight, Fu Heng looked at Ye Yunxi lying beside him. Her profile was so beautiful and lovely.

Ye Yunxi immediately sat up and asked, "With so many fish, shall we split them equally?"

“Okay, I have no objection.” Fu Heng chuckled.

"There are so many fish that we can't transport them all in one trip. We'll have to make two or three trips to get them all," Ye Yunxi said, looking troubled.

"Yunxi, there's something I want to tell you..." Fu Heng hesitated for a moment before deciding to be honest with Ye Yunxi.

"Go ahead," Ye Yunxi said, looking puzzled.

“Actually, I have a space where I can put all the fish.” Fu Heng decided to take the gamble.

Ye Yunxi stared at Fu Heng expressionlessly. Why did he confess to her? Could it be that he, like her, was also reborn with a spatial ability?

"You... never mind," Ye Yunxi said helplessly.

Fu Heng tensed up, thinking Ye Yunxi was angry. "Yunxi, let me explain. I didn't mean to hide it from you. I was just afraid..."

Ye Yunxi raised her hand to interrupt him, "This is your business, it has nothing to do with me. You shouldn't tell others that you have a space."

Fu Heng said with a mournful face, "No, you are not someone else."

"Alright, you don't need to explain anymore. Let's take the fish home first," Ye Yunxi interrupted Fu Heng once again.

Fu Heng thought Ye Yunxi was really angry, so he could only put all the fish into his space and explain things slowly at another time.

Ye Yunxi was somewhat surprised to see Fu Heng put the fish into his spatial storage. After all, she had no idea that Fu Heng had one, since she was the only one with a spatial storage.

Seeing that the fish had all been put into her spatial storage, Ye Yunxi said coldly, "Let's go home first."

Fu Heng could only follow silently. On the way back, neither of them spoke a word.

More than an hour later, I returned to the neighborhood. By then, the sun was slowly rising in the sky.

The two quietly went upstairs to the 23rd floor, and Fu Heng said softly, "Is it convenient for me to come to your place? I'll give you the fish I caught tonight."

Ye Yunxi nodded and opened the door.

Fu Heng was visiting her home for the first time; the entire room was spotless white.

Without looking at it for long, he took out most of the fish from his storage space and gave them to her.

Ye Yunxi looked at the extra fish and said, "We gave you too many fish."

Fu Heng said resentfully, "It's not much, this is for you to apologize to."

Ye Yunxi raised an eyebrow: "Alright, thanks, and goodbye."

Fu Heng walked out of Ye Yunxi's house with a sorrowful expression, turning back to look at her every few steps.

As soon as Fu Heng left the house, Ye Yunxi ruthlessly closed the door.
