Chapter 56 The Scented Stone

The TV is currently showing "My Own Swordsman," which is being rebroadcast for the second time. It's a lighthearted and funny TV series, and the mother and daughter are watching it and laughing, occasionally exchanging a few words. The atmosphere is very warm, as if Yu Hai's return hasn't caused a ripple at all.

Chen Hong didn't know what Yu Yang was thinking, but she had already lost all feelings for Yu Hai in her previous life. Chen Hong had long since regarded him as a stranger. Since there was no love left, how could there be hatred?

Hatred is a very luxurious emotion. Wasting it on Yu Hai would be a complete waste. Whether in the past life or this life, does he deserve it? That's why Chen Hong divorced him decisively and cleanly, without the slightest lingering affection.

In the future, Chen Hong will never turn back to Yu Hai, and she will not even listen to his voice, nor will she see his affairs or him.

Chen Hong had only met his wife in Jinan twice. She wouldn't even give Yu Hai, the culprit, a second glance, let alone a complete stranger she'd only met twice.

In her past life, someone said she was a mistress, and that she should hate him. But Chen Hong didn't hate him at all. Chen Hong knew she was just a consequence, and although she had made mistakes, they weren't deserving of death. The cause was Yu Hai, and she didn't even care about Yu Hai, so why would she waste a single bit of energy on the consequence of being a mistress?

With that energy, she'd be better off catching a lobster or a crab at the bottom of the sea, making a sauce, and that could even be a dish for her son. In Chen Hong's eyes, Yu Hai and that woman weren't even worthy of being called a dish!

Seeing Yu Yang's sadness at his grandfather's passing, Chen Hong chuckled inwardly. Her son was still too young; he couldn't understand the complexity of human emotions, which couldn't be measured by who had more or less. Without Yu Hai, Yu Yang was the most important person in his grandfather's eyes. But with Yu Hai present, his grandfather's heart was filled only with his son.

This is a normal reaction; there's nothing to be upset about, and no need to create unnecessary trouble for yourself. Leaving aside the complexities of human emotions, just considering the time spent together, Yu Yang and his grandfather only had a relationship of a little over five years. Yu Hai and his father, on the other hand, had a relationship of over 30 years. By proportional calculation, Yu Yang, the grandson, doesn't even account for 1/6 of that time, let alone the fact that they are blood relatives!

One cannot force a measurement to be identical under unequal conditions; this will certainly not yield a satisfactory result and is purely self-inflicted trouble.

Some things only leave a deep impression after you've experienced them yourself. Yu Yang didn't ask, and Chen Hong wouldn't explain to him. Hopefully, he won't pour all his affection into his grandfather in the future. If Yu Hai has another child, and Yu Yang's grandfather goes to Jinan to take care of his other grandson, Yu Yang won't be too heartbroken.

Although Yu Yang spent the whole evening watching comedies with his mother, seemingly enjoying himself immensely, his mother, Chen Hong, had long since seen through his true feelings.

It wasn't until it was time for bed that Yu Yang said in a spoiled tone, "Mom, I want to sleep with you tonight, okay?" Ever since the newly renovated room had been aired out for a while, Yu Yang had been happily sleeping in his own room.

"Okay, I want to cuddle with my little one to sleep too. Is something on your mind today?" Chen Hong asked, hugging him.

"No, I just want to sleep with Mom." Yu Yang's mind was a mess, and she couldn't explain why. She just felt most at ease with her mother by her side.

Yu Yang was asleep. Chen Hong smiled as she looked at his tender little face. Her son was becoming increasingly intelligent; even this little boy was reflecting on the emotional issues of interpersonal relationships. In this life, Yu Yang was showing even more intelligence and maturity, perhaps a change brought about by the spatial artifact.

Chen Hong went to the bathroom, locked the door, and entered the space to start working. She had been too busy to plant the ginseng seeds she bought a few days ago, but she had already soaked and accelerated their growth yesterday.

Upon examining the germination tray, I found that the ginseng seeds I purchased online were of good quality; most of the seeds already had white spots, indicating that the sprouts were about to emerge. Planting them today was the perfect timing; any later and the sprouts would have been damaged, and the seedlings wouldn't have grown.

Chen Hong quickly got to work, evenly scattering the ginseng seeds on the prepared seedbed and covering them with a thin layer of soil. She'd just have to wait a few days to see how the seedlings sprouted, hoping the ginseng grown in the space would be of very high quality.

It brings huge economic benefits to myself, allowing me to buy several more properties in the coming years. When I get old and can no longer work, I can live a comfortable life as a landlady, earning income just by sitting down.
