Chen Hong picked up the steamed buns and put them on the drying rack. She found a small wicker basket, put five steamed buns in it, and called to Yu Yang, "Xiao Bao, come and take these steamed buns to your grandpa. Your grandpa loves chive filling the most. Tell him to eat them while they're hot."
Yu Yang happily went out to deliver the steamed buns to the old house. "Be careful on the road, and come back quickly for dinner. I've already prepared them," Chen Hong instructed from behind.
"Okay, I know." Yu Yang's voice came, but he had already disappeared from sight.
Chen Hong picked up three steamed buns, carried a bowl of fish soup, and took bowls, chopsticks, and spoons to set the table. Her son hadn't returned yet, so she went to weigh down the wine bottles and cover them with gauze.
I fed the chickens and ducks, collected their eggs, and today is another day for them to lay eggs. It seems the water in the space is quite effective. The feathers that the hens lost from stepping on their eggs have grown back, and the chickens and ducks seem to have grown a lot bigger.
Fortunately, they weren't too conspicuous, otherwise Chen Hong would have killed them. Their growth rate was still within an acceptable range.
The vegetables in the garden didn't change much. The cucumbers, eggplants, and tomatoes grew very large and plentiful, but there were no particularly unusual growths. The green beans and string beans were also long, plump, and full, but not anything special. Everything was within Chen Hong's acceptable range.
Chen Hong was relieved and breathed a sigh of relief. She picked a cucumber and took a bite. It tasted fragrant, crisp and refreshing. It was a pure farm-grown cucumber, of excellent quality but not overly so, which made Chen Hong very satisfied.
Chen Hong was just an ordinary person, and she certainly didn't want to consume anything that supposedly provided abundant spiritual energy, could cure all diseases, or open up her meridians. She just wanted to live a peaceful and uneventful life.
I don't want to live in constant fear of being attacked or threatened. It's like the novels where you're either going to be killed or killing someone. I'd rather stay far away from that kind of exciting life!
Carrying the egg basket, I picked two tomatoes, went to the kitchen to wash, cut, and plate them. I sprinkled some white sugar on them and made a sugar-coated tomato dish for my son. It's both a vegetable and a fruit, perfect!
When her son came home, the two of them ate dinner together. "Mom, Grandpa was so happy to eat the steamed buns. He wanted me to stay and eat with him, but I didn't agree. I put down the buns and ran back home. I'm going to Grandpa's house tomorrow to have lunch with him. I won't be home for lunch. You can eat lunch by yourself, okay?" Yu Yang said to his mother.
"Okay, you didn't have lunch with Grandpa today, are you feeling bad? Then try your best to have lunch with him every day, and have breakfast and dinner with Mom, okay?"
The son has grown up and understands that his mother is still his mother and his grandfather is still his grandfather, but now they are two separate families. Seeing the elderly man cooking, eating, and living alone still touches his young heart.
With her mother's permission, Yu Yang is now able to spend time with her grandfather not only when her mother is busy, but also whenever she has lunch with him. Yu Yang is very happy and has decided to tell her grandfather the good news tomorrow.
After dinner, Chen Hong locked the front door, packed the steamed buns into several sealed bags, sealed them, and froze them in the freezer. When she wanted to eat them, she would put them in a pot to steam them, and they would taste just as good as freshly steamed buns.
After cleaning and tidying the kitchen, Chen Hong started packing dried mushrooms and dried daylily buds into sealed bags to store for winter. She also put the bucket of fish into her spatial storage, planning to check on it after her son fell asleep.
After taking a shower, the mother and son sat on the sofa watching TV. Yu Yang took the initiative to change the channel to "My Own Swordsman" because he knew his mother liked to watch comedies. Chen Hong asked Yu Yang to change it to "Soldiers Sortie".
"Son, watch this with Mom. It's good. Mom hopes you grow up to be a real man. Watch it carefully, and you'll understand that ordinary people can also achieve extraordinary things, as long as they work hard and never give up."
The son attentively watched TV with his mother. After two episodes, it was 9:30 PM. The two of them discussed the plot before going to bed. After a while, Yu Yang fell asleep like a little pig. He was tired from going out to sea on a boat today.
After finishing her yoga, Chen Hong went into the bathroom, locked the door, and entered her spatial dimension. She still had a lot of work to do tonight! She checked the fish she'd put in the space first. Good, they were still alive in the bucket. This proved that only she could enter the space with living creatures. She wondered if others could enter.
I thought I'd take my son in if I had the chance, but then I thought better of it. My son has excellent language skills, and he's very unguarded when he speaks. If he accidentally lets something slip, it could cause a lot of trouble!
First, place the beehives in the bush area and put the honey extractor next to them. Add diesel fuel to the tractor, start it, test it out, then turn off the engine and install the rotary tiller, tightening the screws.
Chen Hong first cultivated two acres of grassland, then unloaded the rotary tiller and replaced it with a ridge-making machine to create ridges on the land. This makes it easier to irrigate and drain the land, which is beneficial for crop growth.
It took about 3 hours to finish. Fortunately, the time inside and outside the space was the same, so there was no time difference. Otherwise, Chen Hong would have been completely confused about what to do in the space and what to do in bed at night.
Chen Hong decided to work on these two acres of land today. She couldn't rush things; there was still a lot to do during the day. She would work slowly and give herself time to rest. She couldn't afford to overwork herself.
That's all for tonight, we'll continue tomorrow night. Go out of the space and fill the water dispenser bucket with space water, then go to the backyard and fill the large water tank with space water as well.
After thinking it over, since the effect of the space water was mild, she decided to change the water in the kitchen as well. Chen Hong busied herself with chores all night, and finally filled a tank with space water in the kitchen. It was already past 1 a.m. when Chen Hong finished washing up and went to bed.
Chen Hong didn't wake up until 7 a.m., by which time Yu Yang had already washed up and fed the chickens and ducks in the backyard. Seeing his mother get up, he asked, "Mom, what are we having for breakfast today?"
"What does Xiaobao want to eat? Mom will make it for you." Chen Hong said to her son while brushing her teeth.
