Chapter 29 Unwilling
Qin Lanlan couldn't stop vomiting from the stench, and Old Hu's face darkened with anger. Ignoring Qin Lanlan's resistance, he flipped her over.
He pressed Qin Lanlan's face into the pile of vomit, then bent down and got down to business.
Qin Lanlan smelled the stench and endured Old Hu's abuse, tears streaming down her face.
Why is she so unlucky? Why was her attempt to frame Shen Shuxin discovered?
Why was she betrayed by her own mother and brother and sold to this old geezer? Why did she have to endure such humiliation?
These were all prepared for Shen Shuxin, so why is she the one who ends up suffering the consequences?
She was unwilling to accept it, unwilling to accept it...
After venting his anger, Lao Hu still felt suffocated. The thought of this slut having her body seen by so many men and being touched until she screamed and groped made him furious.
He casually took the vine from the wall and gave Qin Lanlan a good spanking on her back.
Qin Lanlan initially cried out a few times, but her voice became hoarse from being whipped, and she could only plead for mercy.
Old Hu didn't care how serious her injury was. After venting his anger, he went out to work, came back and took a nap. In the middle of the night, he got up and continued to torment Qin Lanlan.
Within two days, Qin Lanlan's body was covered in sores that not a single patch of skin remained, and she was beaten to the point of near death.
This time, Qin Lanlan learned her lesson and began to use her charm on Old Hu, employing all the same tactics she had used on the male classmates at school.
This finally touched a nerve with Old Hu, who bought her some medicine to apply and gave her a steamed bun to eat.
Qin Lanlan finally came back to life and dared not bare her teeth and glare at Old Hu anymore. Every day, she knelt on the ground like a dog, wagging her tail and begging for mercy from Old Hu.
Gradually, Old Hu couldn't resist this slut's seduction anymore, and his attitude towards her improved slightly.
But every day she was still fed cornbread and water, and she was always chained up and not given any clothes.
He would have Qin Lanlan sleep under the kang (a heated brick bed) at night, and whenever he felt aroused, he would get up and torment her to the point of near death.
Qin Lanlan endured it day after day. Whenever she couldn't bear it anymore, she would think of the princess-like life she had lived in the Shen family.
If only she could find a way to escape, find Jiang Ruzhen and those brothers to plead for her, and tell them about her tragic experience.
They will definitely save her, and Jiang Ruzhen will definitely not abandon her, after all, Jiang Ruzhen used to cherish her like the apple of her eye.
Fueled by this fantasy, Qin Lanlan endured inhuman torture every day, barely surviving.
By the time we got back to the county town, it was already broad daylight.
Jiang Ruzhen lowered her head, covered her eyes, and said goodbye to Lu Mingzheng. She wanted to return to Yangcheng as soon as possible to see if she could spend some money to bring her parents back to the city.
Lu Mingzheng looked at Jiang Ruzhen, whose eyes were red and swollen from crying, and unusually refrained from mocking her.
He dragged the man to a state-run restaurant, saying, "No matter how bad you feel, you have to eat. If you collapse, who will rescue your parents and relatives?"
Jiang Ruzhen struggled to open her eyes a crack and looked at Lu Mingzheng. "Why aren't you saying anything irritating today? Have you had a change of heart?"
Lu Mingzheng shrugged noncommittally, "I can be sharp-tongued sometimes, but I won't kick someone when they're down."
Jiang Ruzhen clapped her hands, deliberately showing admiration, "Wow, I never expected your floral shirt could actually talk!"
Lu Mingzheng sneered at Jiang Ruzhen's smug, slave-turned-over look. "What floral shirt? Remember me, my name is Lu Mingzheng, Ming as in profound understanding of righteousness, and Zheng as in upright character."
Jiang Ruzhen pursed her lips, yet she still seemed to possess a profound sense of righteousness and noble character.
She saw him as a glib, cynical playboy who had made some money by taking advantage of the good times and his family background in recent years.
He's always flirting with women everywhere. Does he think he's Chu Liuxiang?
Passing through a sea of flowers, not a single petal clings to me.
Lu Mingzheng saw the meaning in Jiang Ruzhen's eyes, but he didn't explain. As they spent more time together, she would naturally know what kind of person he was.
He got up and went to the window to order food. When the food arrived, he took out a clean handkerchief from his pocket, wiped the bowl clean, and served rice to Jiang Ruzhen.
He wiped the chopsticks clean and handed them to Jiang Ruzhen.
Jiang Ruzhen was a little confused when she took the chopsticks, but she thought to herself that the young master across from her must also be a germaphobe and disliked the outside bowls and chopsticks for not being clean.
To his surprise, Lu Mingzheng only took care of wiping her bowl and chopsticks clean, while he himself picked up the bowl and chopsticks and started eating without any hesitation.
"Aren't you going to wipe it?" she asked curiously.
"I'm not like you, a grown man shouldn't be so particular."
Jiang Ruzhen was taken aback. How did he know about her slight germaphobia? Could it be that this guy was following her yesterday?
Before she could figure it out, she was distracted by Lu Mingzheng's eating.
Although Lu Mingzheng ate very quickly, his eating manners showed that he was very well-mannered.
They don't smack their lips or rummage around; they only pick up half of the food in front of them and never cross over to the other side.
Jiang Ruzhen finally felt at ease and picked up her chopsticks. Otherwise, she would have been a little uncomfortable having to eat with a strange man for the first time and even have to share his saliva.
She glanced down at the table and saw two dishes and a soup: braised pork slices, stir-fried potatoes, eggplant, and green peppers, and seaweed and egg drop soup—all her favorites.
Unexpectedly, the young master across from her dressed rather poorly, but had excellent taste in food, much like her own.
Feeling troubled and still feeling choked up from crying, Jiang Ruzhen forced herself to eat a little before putting down her chopsticks.
"What? Can't you eat anymore?"
"Um."
"What kind of cat food is it eating? No wonder it's so hard to hug the skeleton."
"Who asked you to hug them?"
Before she could say more than a few words, Jiang Ruzhen was so angry with Lu Mingzheng that she lost her temper and said things she shouldn't have.
“Let’s be reasonable. You fell here by yourself.” Lu Mingzheng stared at him with an innocent look on his face.
There was no way to communicate; Jiang Ruzhen was afraid of getting angry to death if she said even one more word.
She simply leaned back, closed her eyes, and tried to avoid seeing or hearing anything.
I heard rustling sounds from the other side, and after a while, I suddenly felt a cool, refreshing sensation in my eyes.
Jiang Ruzhen stood up instantly, but Lu Mingzheng pressed her down. "These are ice packs I asked someone to find. They can reduce swelling. You can put them on your eyes while you're waiting for me."
Jiang Ruzhen was taken aback. She hadn't expected this person to be so thoughtful. Ice packs were not easy to make these days.
Even in big cities, refrigerators are hard to find. How did he manage to find ice packs in this small county? Did he get them from a hospital or the government?
It seems this guy's background and strength are truly extraordinary.
However complicated it may be, it's none of her business. "Thank you."
Jiang Ruzhen thanked him calmly, but to her surprise, the man opposite her spoke up again in a lewd manner.
"Don't mention it, I'm just afraid you'll go blind and then cling to me."
Is this something a human being would say?
Jiang Ruzhen really wanted to pull the ice pack off and throw it in his face, but considering how hard it was to get the ice pack, and how her eyes were indeed swollen and uncomfortable.
Even though he was so angry that his chest was heaving, he still managed to say something sarcastic.
"Don't worry, I'd rather beggars than you."
"That would be best." Lu Mingzheng grinned as he looked at Jiang Ruzhen's heaving chest, finally showing some vitality.
Seeing her crying so miserably in the car just now, his heart felt like it was being suffocated by a stone tied to it and sinking to the bottom of the water.
