Chapter 8 Severely Injured (shuhaige.net)

That dead fox's kicks really weren't for nothing...

Is he going to die eventually?

Seeing that the cubs were not moving, the mother tiger fearfully licked around Lin Qian's eyes, hoping that the cubs would open their eyes.

Lin Qian was too weak to open his eyes; he just felt very sleepy and wanted to go to sleep.

Lin Qian knew she couldn't sleep, and dared not fall asleep.

But what can we do?

He is now like a wild animal, unable to go to the hospital or see a veterinarian, and it seems that he has no choice but to wait to die.

Is he really going to die like this...?

As his consciousness began to blur, Lin Qian felt the low growl in his ear gradually receding, and the sounds and sensations around him slowly weakened.

However, the burning sensation in my body became more and more pronounced.

When the tiger cub saw that Lin Qian didn't react, it started howling in fear and anxiously circling around him.

Tiger Mom was extremely anxious but didn't know what to do.

The tiger cub's condition clearly indicates that it was fatally wounded by the red fox; it's unlikely to survive...

Looking at the tiger cub lying painfully with its eyes closed at its feet, and thinking of the other missing cub, the mother tiger was filled with immense sorrow.

But no matter how heartbroken she was, she had no choice but to accept it, for birth, aging, sickness, and death are the natural order of things.

As a wild animal, Tiger Mom had long understood this principle.

Life and death in the wild can often be decided in an instant; she only has herself to blame for not protecting her child.

The tiger cub sensed its mother's sadness and pain, and immediately began to sob as it rubbed against her, trying to comfort her.

Looking at her only healthy child, Tiger Mom's eyes revealed a hint of relief.

She couldn't help but think of her childhood.

At first, she had five brothers and sisters, but gradually, only she and her brother remained in the tiger's den.

In this cruel forest, it must have been an immense stroke of luck for her to grow up successfully and have offspring of her own.

Survival is always difficult for wild Siberian tiger cubs, with a survival rate of less than 50%.

Death is common for tiger cubs.

Although Tiger Mom was sad, she understood the principle of 'survival of the fittest' very well.

After a long while, it mustered its courage, gently picked up Lin Qian by the scruff of her neck, and then, with the cub in tow, slowly walked toward the tiger's den.

Upon reaching the tiger's den, the mother tiger stopped in her tracks in surprise. Her jaws loosened slightly, nearly dropping the cub she was holding to the ground.

Fortunately, the tiger mom instinctively bit her quickly, otherwise Lin Qian would have been injured a second time.

The tiger cub also saw the small body lying in the grass, and it instantly remembered the moment when the red fox hunted it.

The little creature huddled tightly against its mother in fear.

The tigress then came to her senses and carefully put the cub down from her mouth.

Tiger Mom licked Lin Qian's nose and, finding he was still breathing, breathed a slight sigh of relief.

Then, the mighty tiger raised its head, its eyes filled with infinite sorrow, and slowly approached the lifeless cub.

A warm tongue gently swept across the tip of her nose; it was ice-cold, and she was no longer breathing.

The tiger cub's blood had already begun to cool, and now its body was completely cold.

The tiger mother let out a low growl, a growl that sounded like weeping, filled with immense grief.

The tiger cub looked at its grieving mother and ran over to her.

Upon seeing the tiger cub with blood on its throat, it was so frightened that it took two steps back.

After a pause, it stepped forward again, and, suppressing its fear, lowered its head to touch the body of its brother.

The expected response was not received.

As usual, it stretched out its little tongue to lick the cub's head, trying to wake it up as always.

But the tip of the tongue only touched a lifeless patch of fur, and the cold nose seemed to be telling a story of death.

The scent of my brotherly love was no longer there, but a lifeless, withered, and deathly aura.

The tiger cub was startled; this was the first time it had touched the corpse of one of its own kind, and it was so cold.

The tiger cub stood there puzzled for a long time. It seemed to finally understand that its once familiar and close brother had left it.

The cub's round, tiger-like ears drooped down instantly, its short limbs twitched backward heavily, and then it ran away in a flash.

It darted to Lin Qian, who was motionless, its small body trembling slightly.

But the tiger cub doesn't understand what death is; it only instinctively feels fear and dread, and dares not approach its now-cold brother.

Seeing Lin Qian lying motionless on the ground, the young tiger's pupils contracted slightly. He hesitated, then tentatively sniffed the ground with his little nose.

Fortunately, it detected a faint, warm breath.

A pair of droopy little ears immediately perked up, and a pink little tongue quickly darted out, carefully licking the tip of Lin Qian's nose.

It's warm!

The tiger cub immediately raised its head and happily licked Lin Qian's fur.
