Chapter 95 Winter is Just Around the Corner

The tigress, though looking pitiful, only had superficial wounds that had already scabbed over, which put her at ease.

"Hooray." Sister, I'm alright now.

The tigress growled, indicating that she was alright. After eating the leopard meat, she truly felt fine. Although her wounds looked serious, she now felt incredibly healthy!

"Aww!" Brother, why did you take so long to come back?

Courage rubbed against Lin Qian, whimpering unhappily. This time, they had been apart for quite a while, and the little guy had missed her terribly.

If only it hadn't slept, it would have been so much better to go out and play with its brother and dad!

Well, besides courage, there's another little guy who's always been thinking about Lin Qian.

Hearing the loud roar of the tiger, a small head peeked out from the pine tree.

The chipmunk blinked its shiny black eyes and almost jumped down from the tree in excitement when it saw the Tiger King, who could save its life, had returned.

Fortunately, a den of tigers was nearby, which scared off its impulse. Otherwise, if it had actually charged down, not only would it lack the courage to catch it, but the three big cats would probably have pinned it down immediately.

After all, Courage is always clamoring for toys. This toy killer, the small animals that Tiger Dad and Tiger Mom provide for it are simply not enough for it to wreak havoc.

The chipmunk perched on the tree trunk, its little head tilted, looking somewhat lost. It dared not go down, but it had to make sure the tiger king hadn't escaped...

The chipmunk was afraid that Lin Qian would go to its burrow to look for it, find it missing, and misunderstand it, which would be a great injustice.

It didn't want to be bitten to death by a tiger and become a dead rat!

"Squeak squeak..." The chipmunk, anxious and unable to think of a solution, cried out in desperation.

Lin Qian and Yong Qi both looked up at the same time, and the chipmunk darted into the tree hole in a flash.

After it entered the tree hole, it paused for a moment, wondering why I was hiding.

If I don't hide, won't the Tiger King know that I didn't run away from the tree?

Thinking of this, the chipmunk felt like crying, and cautiously poked its head out again, squeaking twice.

Courage bared its teeth and growled, unleashing a roar at the treetops.

Why isn't my brother done playing yet? That annoying guy is still perfectly fine, and he's climbed up that tree again!

Lin Qian was very puzzled. Why hadn't this little guy run away yet?

Wouldn't all the marks he painstakingly created be wasted?

Seeing Qiong's aggressive demeanor, Lin Qian had no choice but to reiterate the concept that "this rat cannot be eaten."

He expressed his indignation, but his unhappiness was also quite obvious.

Lin Qian could only lick its little head to comfort it.

The little guy gets angry quickly but also calms down quickly, soon forgetting the unpleasantness caused by the chipmunk.

As the weather gets colder and winter approaches, most animals that hoard food have accumulated a considerable amount of supplies.

For example, the chipmunk, a master hoarder, has dug no fewer than 10 burrows near the tiger's den since that day, each one filled with a pile of pine nuts.

The chipmunk was very satisfied with its masterpiece; it was certain that it wouldn't go hungry this winter!

In previous years, it would often forget a few storage locations because of its poor memory, but it won't this year!

It discovered that its memory had improved dramatically since it fell into the tiger's den, and its little brain was getting better and better!

The tigress settled down at the pond, and the mother tiger even sternly demanded that her younger sister live with her.

The tigress didn't understand, but with Lin Qian's continued support and the tigress's mother's concern, she eventually agreed.

Lin Qian had long hoped that the Tiger family could get together, but there hadn't been a suitable opportunity.

As for Tiger Mom, the more animals she encountered after the spiritual tide, the heavier her worries became. Seeing her sister suffer such serious injuries, Tiger Mom instantly felt an overwhelming sense of crisis.

Even as winter approached, it dared not let its sister leave and live alone.

It has been determined that this forest is very different from what it used to be.

The father tiger left that day, but continued to travel long distances outside, spending more energy and time patrolling the territory of the mother tiger and the tigress.

As the ruler of this forest, it is very familiar with every region and every animal.

It was this familiarity that made it feel a great sense of crisis, just like the Tiger Mom.

The forest has changed, and so have the animals. They have become unknown, no longer the familiar subjects it could easily control.

The crisis lurks in these countless unknowns; it must remain strong!

Only by being powerful enough can one secure the throne and protect one's wife and children.

With winter fast approaching, both herbivores and carnivores need to build up their fat reserves to prepare for the harsh winter.

After their appetites returned to normal, the mother tiger and the tigress took their two cubs out hunting every other day.

Today, they decided to stock up on food in anticipation of the snowstorm, as they believed it would snow in the next few days, based on their past experience.

Yes, the mother tiger and the tigress have a sense of the harsh winter. They are wild animals, that's true, but that doesn't mean they're stupid. Having lived in the wild for a long time, they have their own way of judging and predicting changes in the weather.

The tiger mother's target is either red deer or sika deer, not for any other reason than that her cubs love to eat them, and she loves to eat them too.

The tigress had no objection to this; she had always been obedient to her powerful and stronger sister.

Lin Qian and Yong Qi's hunting skills are now quite advanced, which is of great help in hunting. When they encounter prey of suitable size, the two brothers occasionally succeed, with a success rate of about 60%.

Don't be fooled by the 60% success rate; it's actually quite high. Keep in mind that even with an adult Siberian tiger, the success rate is only around 30% under normal circumstances.
