The movements of these people were quickly reported to Cheng Yu by the detectives.
"Sir, according to the information I have gathered, Bei Gong Boyu, Bian Zhang, and that Dian Xian discussed the matter before summoning the others."
"Ha! A bunch of clowns, resorting to such tricks! They're definitely trying to take this opportunity to smuggle grain, salt, or even refined iron to Dongqiang!"
Cheng Yu quickly guessed their intentions and couldn't help but sneer, clearly showing his disdain for Bei Gong Boyu and the others.
"Should we notify Prefect Fu and Marquis Dingbian to detain them?"
Hearing his subordinate's words, Cheng Yu closed his eyes and pondered for a moment before speaking:
"No need. It's better to give them some confidence. Let's just play the long game and catch the big fish!"
"Your insight is excellent!"
Cheng Yu continued, "Also, I'd like to ask Marquis Dingbian if we can provide the Baihu people with some supplies. After all, they have pledged allegiance to our Han Dynasty, and we can't just stand by and watch them be bullied by the Qiang people, can we?"
The subordinate nodded. "Understood!"
Cheng Yu looked at his subordinates and asked, "How are the manpower arrangements in the city going?"
"Reporting to my superior, everything has been arranged!"
Cheng Yu nodded, then sneered, "Then let's make our move tonight. We'll start with the Qiang people who went to Beigong Boyu's house today. Just kill a few of them!"
"promise!"
After his subordinates left, Cheng Yu closed his eyes and began to carefully plan his next move.
That night, after midnight, almost all the residents of the city had fallen asleep, and the entire city of Jin was shrouded in darkness. However, in the northwest of the city, near the city wall, a faint light could be seen coming from a low house.
This is a very common dwelling, and the interior is quite simple. The living room has only a dilapidated table, and the bedroom next door has only a simple bed made of a few wooden planks.
A man dressed as a Qiang slave sat quietly at a table in the living room with his eyes closed. On the table was a curved knife, a unique feature of the Qiang people, and next to it was a bright oil lamp, which seemed somewhat out of place with the surrounding environment.
"Thump thump thump! Thump thump thump!"
Just as the man closed his eyes to rest, a sound of wood being struck suddenly came from inside the bedroom.
The man immediately opened his eyes, got up, and walked into the house.
Upon entering the house, the Qiang man moved the bed board aside and looked down. He saw that where the wooden board had been, there was now a hole resembling a cellar.
Just after the Qiang man moved the wooden plank, a figure crawled out of the cave, wearing the same clothes as the man.
The two simply nodded to each other without speaking. The person who crawled out of the hole walked towards the house, while the original owner of the house remained by the hole.
Immediately afterwards, one figure after another crawled out of the cave.
About fifteen minutes later, nearly forty people crawled out of the cave.
This shows that it was not an ordinary cellar, but a secret passage leading out of the city.
