When An Chaoli arrived by car, he ran into An Huaishou, who was returning from chopping firewood on the mountain.
As the sun sets, the boy is bathed in its light; his eyes are clear, and his smile is bright.
The boy had just finished his work, revealing his strong forearms. He was a little sweaty, but didn't look sloppy.
The old lady forbade An Chaoli from visiting, and An Huaishou could only see his father once a year during festivals.
Now, the person standing opposite him is someone he can't believe.
"Father, what brings you here?" The boy put down the firewood he was carrying and went to greet him.
"Father, you must be tired from your journey. Please come inside and have a cup of tea."
The boy was considerate and thoughtful, and while happy, he was also very polite.
Before An Chaoli could speak, a small figure in a pink dress jumped out from under the carriage.
She was a cute, pink-cheeked little girl, blinking her eyes as she looked at him. She wasn't even as tall as her father's legs.
The brother and sister looked at each other, and An Yuan'er waved her hand, then boldly called out sweetly, "Brother, brother!"
An Yuan'er had called out "brother" countless times in the dead of night, and now, she could finally shout it out loud to the person in front of her.
Overwhelmed with emotion, An Yuan'er couldn't help but burst into tears.
After all, the brother and sister were both very young when they parted ways.
An Chaoli, fearing the two would become awkward, introduced them, saying, "Look back, this is your younger sister, Yuan'er."
"Yuan'er, why are you crying all of a sudden? Wipe away your tears, don't let your brother laugh at you."
An Huaishou's eyes widened in disbelief; she couldn't believe that this delicate and beautiful girl was her younger sister.
She looks so small, with chubby cheeks that make you want to take a bite of her pink cheeks.
He really likes this little sister.
Whether it was blood soluble in water or An Yuan'er was simply likable, An Huaishou couldn't help but want to get close to the girl the first time he saw her.
But why is my sister crying? Did he scare her?
An Huaishou was somewhat flustered. He took out the burlap he had with him, intending to wipe his sister's tears.
But as the burlap approached his sister's fair face, he suddenly thought, what if such rough cloth cuts and damages her skin?
He put the burlap away and made a big face at An Yuan'er.
He remembered that Da Niu from next door used to coax his baby in the same way. The baby would laugh happily when he saw the funny face.
When An Yuan'er saw the magnified ghost face, she couldn't help but cry even louder.
An Huaishou was at a loss. He coaxed, "Yuanyuan, don't cry. Your brother will perform a show for you."
An Huaishou started doing somersaults and boxing on the ground. He did it with great effort and clumsiness, just to make his sister laugh.
An Huai's forehead was covered in a fine sweat from his anxiety. It was the first time he had met his younger sister, and he wanted to make a good impression.
An Yuan'er stopped crying and reached out to hold her brother's hand: "Brother, Yuan'er missed you so much."
An Yuan'er's tears weren't because her brother was frightening her, but because she felt wronged. Her brother was so good to her, yet he had spent his childhood alone in this place. He was a young master, not an ordinary hunter.
Holding a big hand in a small hand, An looked back as if in a dream. It was his sister's hand. It turned out that his sister didn't dislike him after all.
The brother and sister were very happy. An turned around, picked up An Yuan'er, and ran quickly.
"Yuan Yuan, let's fly! Let's fly!"
The wind howled in my ears, and An Yuan'er's clear, bell-like laughter filled the air.
An Yuan'er's voice came from the wind: "Brother, Yuan'er is 7 years old. Why are you still treating me like a three-year-old?"
The older brother answered matter-of-factly: "In my heart, Yuan Yuan will always be three years old."
