Chapter 130 Wanliuhashi's Conjecture

When Wanliuhashi couldn't find Sang'er, she had other palace maids serve her.

After breakfast, Wanliuhashi still hadn't seen Sang'er. "This is outrageous! Go to Sang'er's room and see what's wrong with her!" Wanliuhashi said angrily.

"Yes!" the maid replied and went to Sang'er's room.

Sang'er was a senior palace maid serving Wanliuhashi. She considered herself superior to others and lived in a separate room.

The young palace maid knocked on the door, calling out "Sister Sang'er?" but no one answered. She then tried pushing the door, only to find it ajar and opened easily.

When the palace maid pushed open the door, she found that Sang'er was not in the room, and the bed was made up neatly, so it seemed that no one had touched it last night.

Upon seeing this, the young palace maid immediately went to inform Wanliuhashi.

"You mean Sang'er might not have been in Jingren Palace last night?" Wanliuha asked.

"Yes, nothing in Sister Sang'er's room has been touched, and the bedding is folded neatly!" the little palace maid said.

"Hmph! Is she looking for a better job?" Wanliuha said angrily, then glanced at the others in the room. "Let me tell you, don't think that just because the Emperor has abandoned me now, he will not abandon me after I give birth to the little prince safely."

If I find out you have any disloyal intentions, I can still deal with you!

Everyone in the room immediately knelt down, saying, "This servant wouldn't dare!"

"It's best if you don't dare. Don't worry, as long as you are loyal, I won't treat you unfairly!" Saying this, he took out a small bag of silver and threw it in front of the little palace maid. "Go and take it, and distribute it!"

"This servant thanks the concubine!" the young palace maid said gratefully.

Wanliuhashi wondered where Sang'er had gone. Could it be that she had really lost power and thus switched allegiance to another? He hadn't noticed anything unusual about Sang'er before. Could she have been hiding too well?

Wanliuhashi didn't take it to heart, but vowed in her heart that Sang'er had better not let her see it, otherwise she would definitely make Sang'er pay.

As evening approached, Wanliuha heard a commotion outside. Just as she was about to call Sang'er to ask what was going on, she suddenly remembered that Sang'er was nowhere to be found.

Wanliuhashi pushed open the door and went out. The courtyard was full of people. "What's going on?"

The young palace maid from before reported, "Your Highness, the people from the Censorate have found a body in a dry well. They suspect it is Sister Sang'er and would like us to go and identify her!"

Upon hearing the news, Wanliuhashi nearly lost her balance and swayed a few times, but fortunately, a palace maid beside her caught her.

"Greetings, Consort Wanliuha!" The steward of the Imperial Prison bowed to Wanliuha. "Your Highness, someone just discovered a corpse and suspects it is Sang'er, who is by your side. Please send someone with me to identify it."

"Alright!" Wanliuha pointed at the young palace maid and said, "You may go with them!"

After saying that, Wanliuha turned around and went back to her room.

Wanliuhashi had some doubts. Could it be that what she said yesterday was too harsh, and Sang'er couldn't bear it and committed suicide?

Wanliuha shook her head. She felt that Sang'er was not that kind of person. Sang'er had been by her side for a long time and would not be so easily defeated.

If Sang'er didn't commit suicide, then someone must have murdered her. Did Sang'er have some kind of enemy?

Wanliuhashi had no clue what to do about all of this.

“Maybe it’s not Sang’er?” Wanliuha said, hoping that the corpse was not Sang’er.

"Your Majesty!" The little palace maid returned just as Wanliuha was momentarily stunned.

"How is it?" Wanliuha asked.

"Your Majesty, it is indeed Sister Sang'er!" The little palace maid still couldn't help but feel a little scared when she thought about how she saw Sang'er.

"I understand! You can go out now!" Wanliuhashi found it hard to accept for a moment.

Sang'er had always been devoted to her and always thought of her best interests. However, sometimes she would do more harm than good. Although she would scold Sang'er, she was only trying to scare her and never intended to kill her.

This time, she was so angry that she took it out on Sang'er.

Wanliuha suddenly realized that Sang'er's suggestion this time seemed to be specifically aimed at Hexue Gege. Could it be that Sang'er and Hexue Gege had some kind of grudge?

Wanliuha quickly dismissed this idea; she rarely even saw Hexue, let alone Sang'er.

Wanliuha thought about the possibility that Sang'er might have had an accident last night, and a thought suddenly occurred to her: Could it be that someone instructed Sang'er to do this? Has Sang'er been murdered by that person now?

Wanliuhashi thought about it more and more and felt it was possible. She thought she should tell the Imperial Concubine about this, because there was no guarantee that the person behind Sang'er wouldn't try to kill her.
