Chapter 97 Riding a Horse with Snow

The Crown Prince didn't care whether his next words would frighten He Xue; he had to let He Xue know that only he could stay by her side from now on.

"He Xue, from now on, your Crown Prince brother will accompany you to enjoy delicious food!"

"No, Your Highness, you are the Crown Prince, you have your responsibilities. It would be a waste of your talents to accompany me!" He Xue said hurriedly, frightened. She wanted the Crown Prince to accompany her to eat delicious food, which she had eaten in the morning, but she didn't have any in the afternoon!

"He Xue, I...actually..."

"He Xue, didn't you want to ride a horse? Hurry up!" Shu Yi shouted to He Xue.

"Brother Crown Prince, I'm going horseback riding!" He Xue said to the Crown Prince, then excitedly ran towards Shu Yi. She was finally going to ride a horse; she had been waiting for this for a long time.

"Slow down!" The prince could only swallow his words, and he gave He Xue a worried reminder before walking in the direction He Xue had run off to.

"Second Brother, shall we go horseback riding now?" He Xue asked Shu Yi anxiously before she could even catch her breath.

“Of course we’ll go now! Come on, we’ll go with you!” Shen Zhixing said to He Xue.

"Okay, let's go!" He Xue urged.

Seeing this, the Crown Prince thought he should accompany He Xue. Although the Manchus didn't have as many customs as the Han people, it wasn't really appropriate for He Xue and Shen Zhixing to go horseback riding. How would He Xue mount the horse? Would Shen Zhixing have to help He Xue mount the horse?

"Shuyi, you stay with Hexue!" Before the Crown Prince could finish speaking, Jing Shu had already said this to Shuyi.

"I understand, big brother!" Shuyi then took Hexue horseback riding.

"Why don't you rest for a while, Your Highness?" Jing Shu said to the Crown Prince.

"Alright!" The Crown Prince couldn't refuse Jing Shu, so he followed Jing Shu to the pavilion next to him.

A moment later, Longkodo also arrived.

"Isn't the Crown Prince going to ride horses?" Longkodo asked.

"Didn't you go shooting targets with your elder brother and the others?" the crown prince asked in return.

"The eldest prince's archery skills are truly remarkable. This servant should take a break, otherwise I might actually lose to him!" Longkodo praised the eldest prince highly.

Actually, Longkodo came mainly because he was worried that Jingshu wouldn't be able to handle it. Jingshu had never had any contact with the Crown Prince before, and he was worried that Jingshu would be reserved when he met the Crown Prince, so he came to accompany the Crown Prince.

The Crown Prince's gaze remained fixed on He Xue.

Longkodo followed the prince's gaze and saw He Xue learning to ride a horse.

He Xue finally saw the horse that Longkodo had prepared for her, a small red pony. Compared to Longkodo's tall horse from before, He Xue's horse seemed much smaller.

He Xue looked at the pony in front of her. She had heard that horses needed to be tamed and that they were all tamed by the first person who tamed them.

Is she also going to try and subdue this horse?

"Second Brother, do I need to tame this horse?" He Xue asked Shu Yi.

"Little girl, you're so young, but you've got guts! You actually thought you could subdue a horse!" Xu Fengbai said with a smile.

"As expected of the general's daughter, like father, like daughter!" Shen Zhixing also said.

He Xue felt that these two people were really good at flattering her. She only asked one question, and they praised her for a long time, making her almost embarrassed.

"Brother Fengbai, Brother Zhixing, what you've said makes me almost embarrassed!" Hexue said, bowing her head.

"No need, your uncle has already chosen a tamed one for you, you can ride it right now!" Shuyi said.

"Really? Then I'll go up right now!" He Xue said immediately.

"Okay!" Shuyi explained the key points of horseback riding to Hexue.

Then, with Shuyi's help, Hexue mounted the horse. Hexue was both excited and nervous, her whole body pressed against the horse's back, her legs gripping the horse's belly tightly.

“He Xue, relax. Squeezing the horse’s belly like that will make it uncomfortable and cause it to become agitated!” Shen Zhixing said to He Xue.

"It's alright, your second brother will protect you!" Shuyi led Xue's horse.

He Xue nodded, tried to relax, and dared to sit up straight, attempting to hold the reins with her hands.

He Xue imagined whether she could one day be like those chivalrous women, traveling the world alone with a sword on horseback?
