Chapter 106 More Comfortable Than at Home (2/2)

Wang Xing's mother couldn't help but sigh.

"It's only because conditions are better now that we can grow vegetables in greenhouses during the winter; otherwise, we wouldn't have much to eat."

Yang Yufen smiled.

"Auntie, I'll chop the meat. I'm a man and I'm strong. Honey, you can chop the vegetables."

"good."

The couple discussed it directly and decided to divide the work.

Seeing that the two of them were doing a pretty good job, Yang Yufen went to fry some eggs and also made a few egg pancakes for the children.

"Auntie, your filling smells so good!"

Watching Yang Yufen's smooth and effortless movements, Wang Xing's mother observed how she stirred such a large bowl of filling as if it were no effort at all.

"If you're willing to use plenty of oil and salt, the flavor will naturally be better."

When making dumplings, Wang Xing's parents consciously didn't interfere. They watched as Yang Yufen pinched and slammed her hands together, and a plump dumpling appeared in no time.

"I could never learn your skill, Auntie, it's amazing!"

Wang Xing's mother felt ashamed of herself.

“You two are doing academic research, which is different. Xiao Wang, you two can watch the kids for a while. I’ll go to Dean Hu’s house to pick them up. Freshly made dumplings will cook quickly.”

Yang Yufen felt that she had made nearly two hundred dumplings, which should be about right.

“Okay, ma’am, I’ll go with you.”

Wang Xing's mother spoke up.

"Spend more time with the kids. It's only half a day off. I'll be right back, it'll be quick."

After Yang Yufen finished speaking, she took off her apron.

"I'll go and bring your brother and Xiaobao over. You stay home and behave, and don't go near the stove."

"Okay, Grandma!"

"Grandma Yang, slow down!"

Wang Xing shouted.

"You're more comfortable here than at home."

When Wang Xing's father came out, he saw his son playing on the bed covered with a small blanket and couldn't help but pat the child's head.

Wang Xing dodged for a moment.

"I told you Grandma Yang is so kind! Look, Grandma Yang prepared this for me yesterday! Just like Da Bao and Xiao Bao!"

Wang Xing was extremely proud. He brought all his treasures with him and shared them with his two children.

The three children don't need adults to watch over them; they can play very well on their own.

"My son has grown up so much without me even realizing it."

Wang Xing's mother suddenly sighed, her words filled with deep guilt and regret.

“I always thought my child was just not close to people, a picky eater, and restless. But it turns out that’s not true at all. He’s more handsome than we thought, but we never saw it. We only heard it from others.”

The couple held hands, and many things were left unsaid.

"It's okay, the child has friends now, things will get better and better."

When Yang Yufen arrived, Hu Zhenghao was making formula for Xiaobao.

"Grandma Yang, you've come!"

"Okay, I'm here to pick you and Xiaobao up to go eat dumplings. Come on, help Grandma Yang prepare them. You tidy up Xiaobao's things and bring out the stroller."

Yang Yufen reached out and took the baby bottle from Hu Zhenghao's hand.

"Okay! Mom was supposed to take us there this morning, but the hospital suddenly made an emergency call, so she had to go."

"It's alright, it's alright, Grandma Yang is here now."

After quickly finishing, Yang Yufen put the bottle in Xiaobao's hand, and Xiaobao held it and drank from it himself.

Carrying a bag, Xiao Bao put it in the stroller and covered it with a blanket. Hu Zhenghao hung the key around his neck and locked the door.
