The pancakes were baked one after another. As soon as they came out of the pan, Li Wu would tear off a piece to taste, and then the others would unknowingly finish them.
By the time we got to the fifth sheet, we were all stuffed. After each of us drank a bowl of water, we were even more full. We all obediently got back to work, since there was still so much noodles left to cook.
"With so many flatbreads, when will we be able to finish them all?"
The four children were panting heavily; making these pancakes was more tiring than their military boxing practice.
They swung their arms and stared at the stack of flatbreads.
"If Dad were home, he might have eaten."
Li Wu couldn't help but sigh.
"How about we just eat flatbread for the next few days? The four of us should be able to finish it in a few days."
Hu Zhenghao spoke.
"OK!"
Wang Xing agreed.
"Then we won't have to go to the cafeteria for lunch. We can pick some vegetables from home and even learn how to cook!"
Li Wu was also somewhat excited.
After the proposal was unanimously approved, the alarm clock in Wang Xing's home went off.
"It's already three o'clock. Hurry up, we can clean up tomorrow, otherwise what if Grandma Yang comes back early?"
When Wang Xing heard the bell ring three times, he immediately urged them on.

Li Wu carried the bowl of noodles, and the children locked Wang Xing's door and quickly went home.

Hu Zhenghao confirmed it repeatedly.
"Should I go and keep watch?"
Wang Xing thought for a moment and then spoke.
"No problem, Grandma definitely won't be able to finish at this time. We just need to be quick. Grandma has been very busy lately."
Li Wen thought for a moment, and the children had planned to give Yang Yufen a surprise. Professor Wen was originally going to cover for them, but he was called away for something.
"I'll go take a look; I can run fast too."
Wang Xing persisted.
Professor Wen rushed back, as he had promised to help the children. He had just reached the entrance of the family compound when he saw Yang Yufen riding back on her tricycle.

Professor Wen quickly greeted them.

"Hmm, why are you up so early today? It's only a little past three."
Professor Wen glanced at his watch.
"I have other things to do today. Oh, by the way, Hu Jun said he'll be back tonight. How about we have dinner together tonight?"
"He's back? Oh, we're almost out of vegetables at home. Shall we go together and see if we can buy any meat or vegetables?"
When Professor Wen saw Wang Xing running over, looking so anxious, he figured the children weren't ready yet.
