Chapter 26 Ancestral Craft (1/2)

"Auntie, I have a salary, enough to buy a bicycle. You can take this money back, but I'll keep the ticket."

"How much money do you have? You just graduated and are supporting Yao Yao. You've only been working for a few months. I'm giving you this. My only wish is that you two live a good life. As for what to buy and how to buy it, you can discuss and decide for yourselves."

Aunt Wang slapped him back firmly, then smiled and said to Yao Yao, "Yao Yao, stay and chat with Grandma for a while, we'll roast some sweet potatoes."

"Hurry up, or you'll miss your shift."

Aunt Wang, as if her face had changed, said something to her son who was standing there dumbfounded.

Wang Shuo didn't even know how he got out of the house.

A gust of wind and snow woke me up as if from a dream.

"Fang Fen, my mom agreed. She wants us to get our marriage certificate. Let's go! I always carry my household registration book with me."

It felt like he was walking on cotton; it wasn't until he received his marriage certificate that Wang Shuo felt it was real.

Yao Yao had her three grandmothers all smiles, doing math, reciting texts, and even singing.

Yang Yufen rummaged through her pockets again and again for candy, and Aunt Liu stuffed Yao Yao's pockets full of roasted peanuts.

"Grandma Yang's sweet potatoes are so delicious when roasted, and Grandma Liu's roasted peanuts are even more fragrant than those sold on the street. Grandma is so kind, I love visiting her so much. Without Grandma, I wouldn't be able to eat so many delicious things!"

"His mouth is as sweet as honey, and he's so clever; he's got the makings of someone who'll go to university someday!"

Yang Yufen praised.

"That's right, my kids are like mud monkeys, all they do is run around all day, and they're such a headache when it comes to studying."

Aunt Liu also praised it.

"Since you like Grandma so much, how about you stay with her tonight?"

"I wish I could too, Grandma has so much delicious food here, but I have to go to school tomorrow."

"Let your Uncle Wang transfer you to the primary school here. It will be more convenient for you to go to school, and your grandma will be able to pick you up and drop you off at school. Your mom won't have to work so hard."

"Okay, okay!"

Yao Yao nodded happily. The grandmothers here are all so kind, unlike the dormitory where her mother lives, where people always say hurtful things.

"Yaoyao is so good."

When Wang Shuo returned with his men, carrying a chicken in one hand and a fish in the other, Yang Yufen had already gone back to cook for Qin Nian. Only Aunt Wang and Yao Yao were left in the house.

Yao Yao had taken off her shoes and was sleeping with Aunt Wang without anyone noticing.

“I knew Mom would love Yao Yao, such a well-behaved child.”

Fang Fen nodded, holding back the tears welling up in her eyes.

"Tomorrow is Monday, how about we set the banquet for Sunday? I'll come over on Saturday to help you move all your things over. I'll tidy up the house these next few days, and Yao Yao will also be moving here to study."

Wang Shuo seized the opportunity and had already planned to buy wedding candies and distribute them the next day.

"Isn't this too hasty?"

Fang Fen was still a little worried.

“I feel like I’ve been waiting for a very long time. If Mom’s illness requires a few more days of recuperation, I really wish I could hold the banquet tomorrow.”

Fang Fen met Wang Shuo's gaze, lowered her head slightly, and nodded twice.

Yang Yufen was in a good mood. Qin Nian had mentioned that she would be getting off work late in the next few days, so Yang Yufen prepared the meal and delivered it to the research institute. She then rode her tricycle to the carpenter's house.

I chose the type of board I wanted; since I'm going to make cabinets anyway, bigger is always better than smaller.

"What is Zhao Meizi planning to do this time?"

"Make two cabinets. Let me see what kind of wood we have, preferably ready-made boards."

"Here, you know about timber too. I just got a new batch of walnut wood, cut and polished, but it's a bit pricey. Would you like to take a look?"

Yang Yufen nodded. They had interacted a few times before and were quite familiar with each other.
