Yang Yufen took the wooden board in her hand and examined it carefully. The wood was indeed good quality, a lighter color, but with beautiful grain. It was perfect for making a cabinet, as it wouldn't warp or crack.
"Give me another bucket of clear varnish and another bucket of red paint. Cut the boards to these specifications and deliver them to the family compound as soon as possible. Also, provide the fan blades."
Yang Yufen took out the pieces of wood she liked one by one and wrote down the dimensions for the carpenter.
She doesn't know many words, but she's good at carpentry and can take measurements.
"Okay, I'll send it to you first thing tomorrow morning."
Yang Yufen rode her tricycle home and took out her family's set of tools, which were wrapped in coarse cloth and well protected.
"Mom, this is a radio. I'll teach you how to use it. You can turn it on and listen to it at home anytime."
After Qin Nian got home, she took something out of her coat.
“It was bought for me. There’s only one radio in our village, at the brigade headquarters. It plays on the loudspeaker for an hour every night from seven to eight. It’s such a rare thing. My daughter is the best.”
Yang Yufen happily accepted it and did not refuse Qin Nian's filial piety.
"I'm glad Mom likes it. I should have bought it a long time ago, but I just didn't think of it. I'll teach Mom how to use it."
"Okay, okay."
The sound of opera came from the radio, and under Qin Nian's guidance, Yang Yufen quickly learned how to use it.
It was almost time to sleep, and the two lay down on the same bed. Only then did Yang Yufen remember that she still had something to tell Qin Nian.
“Your Aunt Wang made her son recognize me as his godmother.”

I sent my daughter-in-law off to work early in the morning, and the carpenter happened to be delivering the boards.
Yang Yufen and her men signed the papers and took them directly to Aunt Wang's house.

Grandma Wang was shocked when she saw the cartload of planks that the carpenter had brought.
"Let's make two wardrobes first. The room isn't small, so let's make the big one against the wall."

Aunt Wang knew Yang Yufen didn't lie, but this was just too honest.
"The two-meter-wide four-door cabinet has ready-made boards, so it won't take long to assemble. The only downside is that painting will take time."
The carpenter brought his son along, and together with Yang Yufen, they moved all the things down in no time.
"A four-door cabinet!"
Aunt Wang was shocked.
“You’ve given me half of your son, so I have to prepare something good for you, right?”
The money was paid yesterday.
"Isn't the room too small? How about we do it in the main room? I was just about to tell you that Xiao Fang and his family are having their banquet on Sunday."
"That's enough, Sunday is just in time, and we can use it right away. Now that we have nails, making a cabinet is much easier than before."
