"My mother-in-law says I have a bad temper."
Qin Nian recalled what Yang Yufen had said and blurted it out.
Professor Wen was stunned when she heard this. If she hadn't just helped get a property certificate, she would have thought that Yang Yufen disliked Niannian.
“My mother-in-law said I’m too soft-hearted and won’t be able to control my man.”
At this point, Qin Nian lowered her head slightly. She had never really thought about controlling men. She could earn her own money and had a job. She got married for the sake of Teacher An and his wife, and she just wanted to treat them with respect.
"Does your mother-in-law want you to remarry?"
Professor Wen was shocked. How could his mother-in-law be so open-minded?
"No, no!"
Qin Nian quickly waved her hand.
"Oh, how did we suddenly get onto this topic?"
Professor Wen was a little disappointed. Niannian was not old and her child was still young. In fact, if it weren't for Niannian's good mother-in-law, she and Lao Hu would have hoped that Niannian would remarry, otherwise what would happen when they got old?
“My mother-in-law gave me a property certificate and told me to keep it safe and not tell anyone, not even my husband. I felt it was wrong, especially since it was a house that my mother-in-law had paid for.”
Qin Nian thought for a moment and changed her approach, since Shen Xianjun was still on a mission.
“Your mother-in-law is really saying this for your own good. She treats you like her own daughter. Otherwise, she would never say such a thing. She bought three houses in a row. Apart from your teacher, your older brother and your sister-in-law, we didn’t tell them.”
Qin Nian blinked, puzzled.
"The one who stabs you the deepest is often the one closest to you. The closest and the most distant are husband and wife. Your mother-in-law has suffered so much, it is not easy for her to think so clearly. Most of the mothers-in-law who torment their daughters-in-law were tormented when they were daughters-in-law. They want others to experience the same suffering they had."
After Professor Wen finished speaking, she was thinking to herself that with her mother-in-law acting like this, it was really difficult for her to suggest finding another family for Niannian.
"Can that daughter-in-law really compare to her son?"
Qin Nian blurted it out.
"People are always biased. Your mother-in-law treats you well, so don't overthink it."
Qin Nian nodded upon hearing this and said nothing more.
"Grandma, can I stay at my aunt's house?"
Really reluctant to part with his two younger brothers, Hu Zhenghao reached for the kitchen door and tentatively peeked out to speak.
"Go, go, go if your aunt agrees."
Professor Wen was starting to find his grandson unbearable.
"Auntie, Auntie, please agree to let me help you take care of your younger brothers!"
Hu Zhenghao suddenly darted to Qin Nian's side, grabbing her sleeve and shaking it.
"Okay, but have you finished your homework?"
The topic of adults caring about children is always unavoidable.
"I wrote it! I finished writing it a long time ago so I could bring my younger brother over to play!"
Hu Zhenghao was extremely smug. He had learned his lesson from last time and was much more careful this holiday.
"Take him away, take him away. This kid is really troublesome. He's alright when he's in school, but now that it's on vacation, he's so noisy it's giving me a headache."
Professor Wen said this in an annoyed tone, but he grabbed a basket, filled it with things, and shoved it into Qin Nian's hands, telling her to take it back.
"You have to behave when you get there, understand?"
Professor Wen repeatedly gave instructions.
"Okay, Grandma! Please tell Mom and Dad that I'm going to stay at my aunt's house."
Hu Zhenghao answered loudly, carrying his backpack and holding one of his younger brothers' hands in each.
