Chapter 70 Mother and Son's Incompatibility (2/2)

"Why didn't you leave the food behind? Didn't you say you got the food for me? I can still eat!"

Shen Xianjun lamented the lunchbox that Zhang Lingling had taken away.

"Eat, eat, eat! Aren't you afraid of overeating? The doctor said you shouldn't eat too much at one meal. Didn't you listen to the doctor's advice?"

Yang Yufen felt annoyed. She didn't know what was wrong with her lately. She thought it was probably because she and her son were incompatible. With that thought, Yang Yufen put away the lunchbox and didn't bother to talk to her son.

See? He said his mother was difficult to get along with and would lose her temper at the drop of a hat. That was also his reason for not letting his mother come in the first place.

Sigh~ His wife must have suffered a lot. Yesterday, she didn't even dare to tell the truth. He should protect her more in the future. Anyway, he's thick-skinned and used to reading faces.

Thinking this, Shen Xianjun suddenly remembered that he hadn't given his mother the reward yet. Oh well, he'd see her again tonight anyway.

Just as Yang Yufen was about to leave, she ran into Zhou Ang.

"What's wrong, auntie? You look so angry."

"Lately, I don't know why, I'm always irritable and want to get angry."

Yang Yufen couldn't bring herself to say that she wanted to beat her son.

“We have a female traditional Chinese medicine doctor in our hospital. I’ll take you to see her. She’s taking her lunch break right now, so it won’t disturb the other patients.”

Zhou Ang took Yang Yufen's arm and led her to the doctor's office.

Have you been feeling hot and humid lately, sweating easily, having trouble sleeping, and experiencing mood swings?

After taking the pulse, the doctor began to ask questions.

"right."

"I'll prescribe some medicine for you to regulate your body. Your blood and energy are still in good condition. Don't hold your anger in; talk to people more."

The doctor prescribed some medicine, spoke a few words with Zhou Ang, and then Zhou Ang left with Yang Yufen.

“Auntie has been worrying too much lately. The food in the hospital cafeteria is quite nourishing, and it’s too much trouble to keep running back and forth. I’ll help you order food and have the nurses deliver it to you, so you can rest for a few days.”

"Okay, thank you for your help, Xiao Zhou."

Yang Yufen also felt she needed to rest, so she left with a bag full of medicine.

In the afternoon, Shen Xianjun was waiting for his mother to bring him lunch, but instead a strange female doctor came instead.

“I’m Niannian’s sister-in-law. You can call me sister-in-law just like Niannian does. Auntie isn’t feeling well, so she won’t be able to bring you meals for the next few days. I’ll have someone bring you food. Just leave the food in the container when you’re done, and someone will come to collect it. I have work to do, so I’ll have to go now.”

Since it was the first meal, Zhou Ang could have left directly after get off work, but he still came to deliver the food and let them know first.

Shen Xianjun looked at the meal: clear soup, millet porridge, two eggs, and some staple food and vegetables.

It's enough to fill you up, but it's nowhere near as delicious as his mother's handmade noodles!

When Qin Nian returned home, she smelled a medicinal odor. She immediately forgot about the two children behind her and quickly went into the house.

"Mother?"

"Niannian is off work, I'm in the backyard."

Yang Yufen's voice came from the backyard.

"Mom, are you alright?"

Qin Nian walked to the backyard and saw Yang Yufen busy in the field. She couldn't help but ask her with concern.

"It's nothing. Your Aunt Wang gave me some bean seeds, so I just planted them. These beans have grown like crazy and need trellises. I hadn't had time to deal with them before, but I managed to gather them all up today."

Yang Yufen patted the mud off her hands and legs, so busy that she forgot all about time.

"Then why do I smell medicine in the house?"
