Chapter 70 Mother and Son's Incompatibility (1/2)

"Thank you for coming to see my son. Come, come, have some fruit. Don't be shy with me."

Yang Yufen distributed the fruit she had brought one by one, thankfully she hadn't come empty-handed.

"Thank you, ma'am."

They took them one by one, and then made room for each person next to the hospital bed.

"Auntie, we've seen enough, and we need to get back to the army, so we'll be going now."

When the group saw the lunchbox Yang Yufen had brought, they didn't linger any longer. For a moment, no one remembered Zhang Lingling, and everyone felt embarrassed to stay at this time.

"Okay, I'll have Xianjun invite you over for dinner later. I won't keep you any longer."

Yang Yufen saw the person to the door before returning to the ward. As she turned around, she saw that Shen Xianjun had already opened the lunchbox.

"Mom, you really understand me. I'm craving this egg sauce noodles. It would be even better if there was garlic in it."

"Don't even think about it. In the future, when we make egg sauce noodles at home, we will never add garlic. Niannian doesn't eat it, and we won't add any spice. Neither the child nor Niannian can eat it."

"If you don't add garlic, chili, or vinegar, what's the point of eating hand-pulled noodles? How can anyone be so picky?"

Shen Xianjun blurted out something, and then got slapped on the head.

"I'm already being nice by making this for you, adding garlic, chili, and vinegar all the time. You're such a jerk, and you still complain about others being picky!"

Shen Xianjun looked up, a little confused. Wasn't this how his family always ate? What did he say?

This is my mother, this is my mother, this is my mother!

Shen Xianjun kept repeating to himself, then buried his head in eating noodles. Wasn't it enough for him to stay silent?

Listening to the slurping and slurping sounds, Yang Yufen felt like she was raising a pig; even her two children couldn't eat noodles like that.

Her disdain was undisguised, but Shen Xianjun was engrossed in eating his noodles and couldn't see it. Yang Yufen simply turned her head away, out of sight, out of mind.

"Brother Shen, how could you eat something like this?"

Zhang Lingling appeared at the door with a lunchbox, not noticing Yang Yufen. Seeing that Shen Xianjun was already eating, she blurted out the words and quickly walked in.

"What's wrong with this thing?"

Yang Yufen's voice rang out, and she walked to the bedside. What's wrong with this little girl? Without that white dress, Yang Yufen was now certain that it was that rascal who had gotten involved with all those women again.

"Auntie, you've arrived. It's like this, Brother Shen is still recovering, and such oily and salty food is not suitable for him."

When Zhang Lingling saw Yang Yufen, her attitude immediately softened.

"Don't worry, I only put in a little bit of soybean paste, the rest is eggs and noodles, it won't make him sick. I've already asked the doctor, and the doctor said it's okay for him to eat."

Yang Yufen's complexion was alright, but her tone was not good.

"It's so bland it's practically tasteless; it's only slightly better than the food in the hospital cafeteria."

Shen Xianjun's face fell as he listened. He has always had a strong palate, and the fact that there was no vinegar, no garlic, and no chili was enough to make him feel uncomfortable. Why would someone have to add to his troubles?

"Then don't eat like a pig and still complain. If it weren't for the country, someone like you would be a bachelor for life. It's just that they don't mind you and even gave birth to two children for you."

Yang Yufen said to Shen Xianjun in an annoyed tone, but her eyes were fixed on Zhang Lingling, hoping that the young girl would back down.

She understands people's admiration for the strong, but interfering in someone else's marriage is immoral.

Zhang Lingling gripped the net tightly, wanting to laugh, but unable to manage a smile.

"Since you know, I'll be going now."

After Zhang Lingling finished speaking, she turned away as if fleeing.
