Chapter 69 Creating Opportunities (2/2)

After Yang Yufen finished her tirade, she didn't even look at Shen Xianjun. She slammed the lid of the lunchbox shut, told Qin Nian to take the child, and left.

"Mom, don't be angry. It's not good for you to get angry."

Qin Nian followed Yang Yufen with the child, and only spoke when they reached the car.

"You're laughing at me. His grandma wanted to name him Gou Dan (Dog Egg), but his father was sickly from a young age. He was the only son in the Shen family, so I insisted on changing his name to Tie Dan (Iron Egg). When he was ten and started school, I asked someone to give him the formal name Xian Jun."

Yang Yufen was afraid that Qin Nian would misunderstand, so she spoke up to explain.

"Mom, I know, and I was the one who called Da Bao and Er Bao first. Mom, here, he gave this to you just now."

Qin Nian handed the envelope to Yang Yufen, hoping it would cheer her up.

“If he gives it to you, just take it. Why give it to me? Mom can earn money herself. Come on, let’s go home, or it’ll be dark soon.”

Yang Yufen's emotions came and went quickly.

Shen Xianjun, in the ward, scratched his head. He hadn't said anything, so why was his mother scolding him again? Oh well, it's just being scolded, he's used to it.

The fruit that had been bought was also taken away by Yang Yufen; it would be too wasteful to give it to that thing to eat.

"Niannian, just focus on your work. The doctor has seen the patient and said he won't die. He'll be discharged in a few days, so you don't need to worry about him."

Yang Yufen was genuinely afraid that the wicked child she had given birth to would scare away her good daughter-in-law. She wasn't particularly good-looking, and to make matters worse, she had a big mouth.

"Okay, Mom, thank you for your hard work."

Qin Nian didn't dwell on it; she also needed time to adjust to the fact that her husband wasn't dead and was preparing to come home.

The next morning, Shen Xianjun didn't see his mother come to visit him. Instead, Zhang Lingling arrived with Zhang Zhiyuan and other comrades.

Zhang Lingling attentively poured water for everyone who came, just like the hostess.

"Brother Shen, have some fruit. I've peeled it for you. Eating more fruit is good for your health. I think it's about time. I'll go to the cafeteria to get you some food."

Zhang Lingling was off today, but she still came to the hospital, wearing a yellow dress and with makeup on her face.

"Zhang Zhiyuan, your sister is quite nice. Why don't you really consider me as your brother-in-law?"

Some people egged them on. They all got along very well and were unmarried. In the army, even a sow could rival Diao Chan, let alone Zhang Lingling, who was both good-looking and had a good job. Naturally, she was very popular.

"Get out of here, don't even think about messing with my sister."

Zhang Zhiyuan irritably shook off the hand on his shoulder.

“We all thought you were really dead. We were heartbroken for a long time. When we suddenly heard that you were still alive, we didn’t even have time to be happy before we heard that you were going to die again. You’re too scary. Even the King of Hell won’t take you.”

We have a good relationship, so we don't have many concerns about what we say.

"I didn't expect it either. It's all part of the mission. We soldiers would have made the same decision. I'll treat you to a meal when I'm better."

"Lingling, aren't you off today? You look so beautiful in that dress!"

Zhang Lingling's colleagues at the nurses' station saw her and greeted her.

"Yes, my older brother and I came to see Brother Shen. They are comrades-in-arms."

"Oh, so it's your older brother who's a platoon leader?"

The nurse's eyes lit up when she heard this.

"Okay, I'll go to the cafeteria first, otherwise I won't be able to get any good food later."

Zhang Lingling raised her chin, then took the food box and left.

"Okay, go ahead."

Yang Yufen brought a lunchbox to the hospital. Although she was disgusted with it, it was still her own child.

When I got to the ward, I saw a large group of people dressed in green.
