Chapter 81 This is my dad (2/2)

"Go home and eat first, then play."

Seeing the young couple coming and going with their child, Yang Yufen, unusually, gave Shen Xianjun a friendly look.

After dinner, the two children dragged Shen Xianjun out to play.

“Niannian, I won’t be sleeping at home tonight. If you don’t have time in the morning, just go to the cafeteria for breakfast. Leave the two kids with Xianjun. Mom will be back during the day, and we’ll eat at home tonight.”

"Okay, Mom, I'll take you there."

Qin Nian paused while washing the dishes, then sped up her pace.

I wanted to take my mother-in-law to her place, but they wouldn't let me when we got to the entrance of the family compound.

"Go back quickly, the child needs your care, it will be completely dark soon."

Yang Yufen pushed Qin Nian into the family compound, then strode away without looking back.

Qin Nian returned home, took a deep breath, and entered the room, only to find Shen Xianjun watching the two children take a bath.

It doesn't seem as bad as I thought.

Qin Nian went inside and read for a while. Hearing the noise outside, she realized the child must have finished washing.

Qin Nian took the clothes and went to wash them. When she returned, she found the father and his two sons asleep in the small house.

Normally, the child would pester her to tell him a bedtime story, but today he actually went to bed so early.

Qin Nian set an alarm to get up early the next day to make breakfast for her child, as going to the cafeteria and back would take too much time.

Around 3 a.m., Yang Yufen and Guixiang got up.

"You have to be generous with the oil to make it taste good. Just add a little bit of chili to the cabbage to make it flavorful."

"No wonder the two brothers, Da Shun and Da Shun, always like to eat the steamed buns you make."

Gui Xiang kneaded the dough, rolled it into a long strip, pinched and twisted it, and a dough ball was ready, all roughly the same size.

"I can't compare to you in needlework, and you even know how to make flower patterns."

Two hundred buns, two people working together, all wrapped and placed in the steamer around 4 o'clock, and started steaming over high heat.

Just after five o'clock, the steamed buns were ready and immediately loaded onto the tricycle.

"Let's go, let's go, the timing is just right."

When Yang Yufen and her companion arrived, other vendors had also come.

"Hey Yang, long time no see! What are you planning to sell this time?"

Those who knew Yang Yufen greeted her.

"It's Brother Zhao, oh dear~"

Yang Yufen suddenly let out a long sigh, and everyone involuntarily strained their ears to listen closer.

"What's wrong?"

Grandpa Zhao asked on behalf of everyone.

“I brought my old friend here. Guixiang, this is Brother Zhao. He’s a very nice guy. If you need anything while I’m not around, you can ask him for help. His daughter-in-law is the women’s director of the neighborhood office. She’s very helpful.”

"Brother Zhao."

Gui Xiang spoke hesitantly.

"Her husband and second son fell down a ravine from the mountain. They were rushed to the military hospital and their lives were saved, but..."

Yang Yufen's eyes reddened, and Guixiang burst into tears.

“Both the breadwinners of our family have collapsed. I don’t know how much medical expenses will be in the future. I brought her here to sell steamed buns. What’s more important than life than face? I’ll try to sell them, even if it’s just to see if we can. I have to rush to the hospital to take care of her later.”

"Oh, little sister, don't cry. Saving the person is the most important thing. Perfect timing, you can set up right next to me. I sell pancakes, I sell breakfast."

Gui Xiang accepted the kindness and stopped crying.

Gradually, more and more people started riding bicycles to work, and some people even came out of the hospital to buy breakfast.

Some people remembered Yang Yufen and immediately came over.

"Aunt Yang, what are you selling here? When are you going to sell your pear soup again?"

"They're selling steamed buns, but it's not pear season yet."

Yang Yufen answered with a smile.

"There are egg and chive buns, jujube paste buns, vegetarian buns, and pure chive and cabbage buns. The cabbage buns are a little spicy. None of them require food coupons. Egg and chive buns and jujube buns are one cent each, vegetarian buns are five cents each, and for two cents you can also get a bowl of red date and millet soup, which is very thick."
