Chapter 82 You Won't See Your Grandma Anymore (1/2)

"Then give me a sugar bun and a cabbage bun, and a bowl of millet porridge."

The nurse took out seventeen cents and handed it to Yang Yufen along with the lunchbox.

Yang Yufen packed steamed buns for the nurses and Guixiang packed millet porridge, and even added some red dates.

The chopped red dates floating on top of the millet soup looked very appealing.

When Guixiang saw the seven cents, she suddenly felt hopeful about life.

After a busy hour and a half, seeing that the steamed buns in the steamer were getting fewer and fewer, and the millet soup in the pot was almost empty, Yang Yufen immediately covered the pot.

Gui Xiang looked at Yang Yu Fen with a puzzled expression.

"Take these few and distribute them to the people on both sides. They need help from others most of the time. As for the rest, Er Shun and his father need to eat too. It's getting late, so go buy some meat and deliver the food at the same time. If we go any later, we won't be able to get any."

Gui Xiang nodded quickly upon hearing this. Without Yang Yufen having to deliver it, she took the steamed buns herself. After a few rounds of back and forth, a pancake was forced into her hand and she returned.

"The people here are all very nice."

Yang Yufen smiled but said nothing.

The two men first put their things down at home, then rode their tricycle to steal meat.

"There's so much meat here!"

"There are much more people than in our commune, let's buy a few bones together."

Having bought what they needed, the two hurried to the hospital.

In the family compound, Qin Nian got up as soon as her alarm clock rang, rubbed her eyes, and went out towards the kitchen, only to bump into something in front of the kitchen door.

"You're up so early? Didn't Mom say you wouldn't get up for another half hour? Breakfast just started cooking, so we'll have to wait a bit."

Shen Xianjun gave up his position.

Qin Nian looked up and was stunned for a moment when she saw Shen Xianjun's face, but her heart warmed when she heard his words.

"Mom is the same, she can't even give a specific time, and she told me not to remember it wrong."

Upon hearing this, Qin Nian's initial warmth turned into speechlessness.

"I'm going to wash up; I can read more if I get up early."

"I actually had some questions I wanted to ask you, but I forgot about them yesterday."

Shen Xianjun took out the notebook from his pocket; there was a mechanical principle he didn't quite understand.

The two children woke up and started making a fuss.

"Grandma? Grandma?"

"Wow~ I want grandma!"

Qin Nian and her husband each held one of the children, and they couldn't coax them down no matter what they did.

"Mom promises, you'll see Grandma when you come home from school, okay?"

After finally managing to get her child into school, Qin Nian was late for work for the first time.

"Niannian, this isn't like you. Why are you late today?"

Xiao Ranran came closer, and as soon as she finished speaking, she heard a gurgling sound. She looked at Qin Nian's stomach in disbelief.

"I forgot to eat breakfast this morning while putting the kids to bed."

Qin Nian habitually reached into her pockets, but the pockets that usually yielded something were empty.

"I brought some food, why don't you have some to eat first?"

Xiao Ranran stuffed the food she had brought into Qin Nian's hands, and everyone started to get busy.

As the morning passed, Qin Nian was eating the lunch her colleague had brought for her when she suddenly spaced out.

Her mother-in-law was only gone for one night, and her husband was there to help out, but she still missed her mother-in-law terribly!
